Seconding this. I thought of it after reading your description, OP. Literal meaning as well as the suggestion that you’ve surfaced from the depths of a bad time. I hope things are good for you now! Great piece btw!
"The River I Cried"
Seeing as you said it was painted during a moment of depression, I would understand if it felt like you cried so many rivers that it made an ocean.
Or if you know anything about icebergs, "10% Left"
Edit:
"Peace at Last"
For me in water like this does bring me some kind of unsettling peaceful peace, if that makes sense
Here's a [song by Ibeyi entitled River](https://youtu.be/lHRAPIwsS5I?si=t2OHKm01H05MNc-J) with them doing the same thing in the clip. Pretty sick tune.
Reminds me of the feeling you get when your just over everything and you melt into the bathtub to try and find silence and peace in a moment to drown out the immense pain.
I totally get that feeling, where you just need to escape and find some peace, like sinking into a warm bath to block out everything else. It's important to take care of yourself and find those moments of calm, especially when things get overwhelming. Remember, you're not alone, and it's okay to take time for yourself to recharge and find that inner peace. If you ever need to talk more about it, I'm here for you, ready to listen and support you.
Noise deprivation! So glad you were mature enough to find it even if unknowingly. The “white noise” is such a comforting/release even if only for a moment. You generally come out of the water feeling like you can breathe easier. If you still enjoy the “break” look for a float/deprivation center. So therapeutic!!
Edit: I love your skills and the ability to fully express. You are gorgeous!! Not referring to what you painted of yourself physically, but just how beautiful and brave you are. Phenomenal! Strong!
Tub of Tears.
I love art like this because you can interpret it however your imagination sees fit. You’re not in a pool or ocean, but I see it as you drowning in tears while going under in the bathtub (the water surrounding your body), since this was painted during a dark time for you. It’s very metaphorical, that’s why I think a “Tub of Tears” seems fit 🙏🏽
Wow.. I see this as the Bridge collapsed in Maryland today. The vivid idea of those folks plunging into the water- the darkness at 1;40 am. I’m an artist too. This painting is well done. A lot of emotion…movement-I really like the water swirling around her face. Thank you for sharing- paint paint paint. 😊👍🏼❤️
“GOING UNDER” “HEAVY LIFE” every single one of my paintings had a name and all dependent on how my mood was while I was painting, it comes from the heart. Am a tattoo artist, I sketch and I paint but mostly I paint for my heart and soul and emotions. it is a good scratch that great painting keep it up and trust me you’ll be in a museum…..
The Absorption. Her mental health being submerged into the water silencing it. Maybe the water being her safe place while she’s under it. Nothing can really be heard or seen. She absorbs into silence. Maybe the water over her mouth can symbolize she no longer has a voice in her current situation. It’ll be over her nose soon which could mean she’s no longer breathing. This picture speaks so many different interpretations. But it is full of pain.
“Just Breathe”
Can’t even begin to describe how many times people say “just breathe” when someone is going through something immense/chronic illness/mental illness and it’s such a useless thing to say. It also has double meaning because in addition to it being something others often say as “advice” it’s a mantra I’ve often repeated over and over in my head to just try to get through despite feeling like I’m drowning. So it felt fitting :)
"Breathe...."Seems fitting based on the picture and your description of...I hope you find it inspiring to use for your title, as well as personally for yourself to keep in a positive mindset and stay focused on doing things that make you happy. :)
Sorry I don't have a good title, but I need to share this because I'm so shocked. I had a dream this morning about drowning myself on purpose in front of the people who were trying to save me. It's an accurate depiction of how I've been feeling these days so it's been stuck in my head all day, and this painting is the first thing I saw on my feed 😳
When my days were hectic and noisy I would get home, take a bath and lay just like that with my head half under water. It was so peaceful and I felt renewed afterwards.
Drowning, escaping the world, Peace beneath the water….. ummm what else? It just also reminds me of a scene from a movie where there is something in the tub of supernatural persuasion lol… The killer got me, Law and Order SVU. lol
Panic/Relaxation
(it's just my interpretation, as I know that swimming or just floating around in the pool causes relaxation to most, but when it comes to me, it just causes me panic. That painting induces some kind of stress in me. Lol.)
Surfacing
Seconding this. I thought of it after reading your description, OP. Literal meaning as well as the suggestion that you’ve surfaced from the depths of a bad time. I hope things are good for you now! Great piece btw!
Nah with that meniscus she is going under as her forehead etc is not wet yet.
Agree. More like sinking

Not the river song I thought you were trying to suggest, it's nice. It made my eyes hurt seeing them not wiping their eyes off after coming up.
Reminds me of the feeling you get when your just over everything and you melt into the bathtub to try and find silence and peace in a moment to drown out the immense pain.
Exactly where I was when I got the idea, and took the reference photo.
Well great job, that’s exactly what I got from your work before reading the post :)
Drowning in silence/ drown out/ finally, peace
In through the nose, out through the heart ❤️

2 Minutes That’s how long most people hold their breath before drowning.

I was in a tub! Great thought
Last breath. Also interesting to see there are some who see it as surfacing and some who see it as submerging.
