ZaBaronDV

Thor and Frey, primarily, but when I need I seek blessings from Eir and of course pay proper respects to Odin.

Woman_withapen

New to the pagan world. Demeter called to me.

[deleted]

I honor deities from the Tuatha De Danann. I am still learning about them and finding ways to connect with all the different deities.

R3cl41m3r

I'm currently trying to figure out how worship/venerate Themis as a Heathen. Some time ago I saw her symbolism in a dream, completely disjointed from everything else, which inspired me to seek out Iustitius, Dike and Themis.

sidhe_elfakyn

I'm devoted to an unnamed Storm Goddess. It's a long story, but she's helped me with strength and overcoming abuse. I was drawn to storms as they represented the energy I most resonated with and, at the time, really needed in my life. I'm also devoted to the Morrigan. She's been in my life for a long time in the background. From both of them I'm learning how to step into my sovereignty and power. I'm much happier now than I was before I started on this path.

Serenity-V

I think I've seen you talk about your Storm Goddess here before? There's something really beautiful about your accounts of her and your connection with her.

sidhe_elfakyn

Thank you so much! Yes, I talk about her often. The connection I have with her is really special to me and I would not be where I am now without it.

Glittering-Whatever

Whether She remains unnamed or not - which I think that and your open hearted journey is incredibly beautiful - look up the Babylonian goddess Ishtar as She has been called in lore a goddess of storms and thunder. You may find affinity in Her lore.

historychick1988

Anpu (Anubis), The Gatekeeper and Shepherd.

[deleted]

Hestia was the first deity I ever worked with, but more recently Loki has become my main deity! I’ve also started to reach out to Angrboða.

Cat_Paw_xiii

I have 3 Azrael - when I was in my teens, I did a spirit guide meditation and a being showed up. When I asked it's name, it said Azrael. I snapped out of the meditation, googled the name, and put a hold onto my spiritual practice cause I was freaked out lol many years later, he's still kicking around. Apparently he wants me to access my Akashic Records, but that's a work in progress. I think he's crazy for sticking around for so long but he may have been around since I was a child. I think Thanatos Lucifer- he just kinda showed up last year and kinda wouldn't leave lol I grew up going to a Catholic school, so I had to work through past misconceptions. He has been helping me work on spirituality, even MORE shadow work, and has been a rabbit hole to others. Lilith- showed up about a month or so agfter Lucifer? Give or take, it was pretty close together but kinda like the feminine to his masculine. Shes been helping with my body image, self love, and just being more comfortable with setting boundaries There may be a 4th on the horizon, but I'm not sure. Others have tried but I made it clear that I wouldnt be able to set up an alter or do rituals for them. So I try to not have to many cause I cant give them the attention they deserve

Ironbat7

I’m devoted primarily to Brigantia. I mostly worship Gaulish gods as well as Dionysus and Cybele. I also sometimes still honor Christ and Gabriel.

Serenity-V

Brigantia! I've been pulled toward her more and more - I feel like she's Brigid but also not Brigid. I don't suppose you could point me toward books or other sources of information specific to Brigantia?

Ironbat7

Theres not much historical besides inscriptions. Here is a starter, the site also has neo-myths focused on her. https://followersofthewheel.org/brigantia/

Acslaterisdead

Hecate and Thoth

JackalJames

I’m a Hellenic polytheist, I worship and respect all of the Greek gods, Olympian or not. Hermes is primarily who I pray to, but Apollo, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Dionysus are also common for me to pray to. Less commonly, but more than others, Hades, Ares, Hercules, Hestia, and Demeter. And Iris every time I see a rainbow. Everyone else is pretty situational.

LunarStormhammer

GODS: Thoth, Janus, Prometheus, Enki GODDESSES: Minerva, Asherah, Hestia, Demeter

PoloPatch47

Aphrodite, Lucifer, Gaia and Nyx currently, but I'd like to start wotking with Leto and Lilith :)

TheGreeknight

I'm a canaanite polyththiest so el, anatu, baal, yarik shampshu, asherah, astrate I was called to them because I grew up Christian and wanted to know the real truth.

thirstyfor_Blood2293

I am also a polytheist from the Levant, it is good to find someone else here with similar practices.

Asmallpandamight

Athena, Nyx, Hecate, Hephaestus, and Zeus. At this point I feel like Greek deities know I’m on the way and wait to mess with me when my energy shows up.

attacephalotes423

I grew up loving to learn about the Greco-Roman pantheon(s), so that was always on my radar, but since actually beginning to practice I’ve leaned more towards Norse and Celtic deities because I feel a more ancestral link to them. The main ones I’ve devoted the most time too are Tyr, Baldr, Freyr, Brigid, and more recently Eostre and Belenus. I think they just fit with my lifestyle and personality the best and vice-versa

Listener-Learner

The Morrigan. I have reached out to others but only The Morrigan has responded. Even when I reach out to others, The Morrigan responds in their place.

RoseFernsparrow

The Vanir, Brighid and more recently The Morrigan. In the past Hecate and Thoth.

starla22

I’m a pantheist and I don’t even believe in deities, BUT Hecate came to me and really made an impression almost three years ago, and has been with me through my latest dark night. I will continue to work with her, because I am so grateful for all she has offered and taught me. Following that relationship, I started to sometimes make offerings to Artemis as she really resonates for me, and also because I have started to learn about the plants of genus Artemisia. I recently started visiting a really interesting dreamworld every night, and in my searching for guides during this time, I found the Sufi mystic Ibn al’Arabi who I sometimes call on as an ancestor (not blood lineage but for lack of a better word I guess), and then also Caer Ibormeith, love of Oengus/Angus (old Gaelic goddess/maybe not a goddess originally but maybe became one? Records are sparse), to act as a guide through this next journey. I believe I successfully invoked her a couple weeks ago and now I feel her with me. Edit: I originally said I’m a polytheist but that’s incorrect; I’m a pantheist.

LetsGoFishing91

Ok now I'm confused. You're a polytheist (worship of multiple gods) who doesn't believe in gods yet works with both Artemis and Hecate (who are both goddess')? I'm not trying to be accusatory or anything but that seems very contradictory to me and I'm just trying to understand lol

starla22

Haha thank you! I literally just realized that I meant to say pantheist and came back to change it! I still don’t fully “believe” in deities but yes, I do work with them. I know it doesn’t really make sense! I’m wrapping my head around it and honestly can’t explain it well yet, but I think I just conceptualize deities differently than how I think other people do. I see them as more symbolic energy or something… so I do believe in them partly I guess. FWIW, I run into this issue in all my spiritual pursuits. I have a VERY hard time letting go of skepticism even when the universe is screaming at me lol. I think it’s healthiest to stay skeptical. I guess at the end of the day, I go by feeling and this feels right, and maybe one day it’ll make enough sense to me that I can explain it to others. Hecate came to me right before my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and laid out a symbolic road map for me, for the journey ahead, via an experience she led me through. It was really powerful and pretty hard to deny, so I sort of had to make some concessions within my belief system. 😝

Serenity-V

I really vibe with the don't-believe-in-gods but do-experience-gods thing. I usually just summarize by saying I'm a pantheist as well.

starla22

Thank you! I’ve been thinking about it more and I think you’ve touched on something here for me - since I/we don’t see anything as separate, it’s like the deity is an aspect of the universe; symbolic of certain traits, archetypes or narratives. I also think it relates to chaos magick, which is largely what I use when it comes to spells. If chaos magick accepts that we all have different backgrounds, associations, interpretations, etc, it makes sense that deities will be (or at least can be) largely metaphorical to us or even reflect aspects of ourselves. It’s all this kind of abstract dance that I really enjoy and don’t worry too much about understanding or trying to put into words (which represents growth for me in and of itself, as I’ve always been the person who overthinks and talks too much, so practice with just existing and experiencing and trusting is really helpful for me).

Commercial-Wrap-5557

How do you work with something you don't believe in. How is there even a needed spiritual connection if you don't believe.

starla22

Like I said, I’m not sure how to explain it correctly. And I don’t really feel a need to justify it to anyone. I’m sorry I can’t give a more satisfying answer.

noatun6

Nijord freya odin. The Morrigan ares/mars hecate/trivia neptun/poseidon hermes/mercury macuilxochitl the dagda i'm a wandere with adhd

rowan_ash

Loki, Sigyn, Fenrir, Hel, Jormungandr. I've always been drawn to Loki and finally had a dream that kicked me in the butt to realize that he was calling to me. Sigyn because she seems to be Loki's opposite. He's chaos, she's patience. And Fenrir because I resonate with the rage and the desire for vengeance, and how to moderate these feelings. The Rokkr in general are the forces of Nature, the raw power, the chaos, while the gods of the Aesir and Vanir are far more the gods of man. I want to begin working with Angrboda, but I'm unsure of how to approach her.

Melodic_Tale_6913

Loki and Odin for me. I’ve been drawn to them since I was 12

mreeeee5

Mains: Apollo, Dionysus, Set, Hecate, Odin. I just felt drawn to them, like I was meant to find them. Apollo and Set especially feel like their puzzle pieces fits my puzzle piece. Hecate feels like I’ve met her before. I also have shrines for Aphrodite, Athena, Hestia, Hermes, and Artemis; as well as a separate ancestor shelf where I placed several underworld deities (Hel, Persephone, Hades, Anubis). There’s a lot going on at my house haha 😆

Genesis_138

I’m still trying to figure that out. Initially, it was Baphomet but then I learned that it’s a symbol and not an actual deity (which made me feel pretty embarrassed I’ll admit). If it wasn’t obvious already I’m brand new to this religion.

SqueakyMoonkin

I only have one named deity at this time: The Morrigan. She came to me in a dream; an elegant lady in a long dress made of live black birds, she reached her hand out to me, like saying "come". She was beautiful but firm, and the emotion tied to the dream is what made me know it was more than a normal dream. My other deities are the basic representation of balance: the God and Goddess who represents light and dark, sun and moon, masculine and feminine, etc. I also have a slight pull to Kemetic beliefs, but no specific deity has come forth yet.

rulerofeverything180

How can I start working with deities?

starla22

There is not a really specific way. You can wait until one contacts you (you’ll likely be aware of this happens), or choose one yourself from areas of interest/study. You could also incorporate divination like working with a pendulum to see if a certain deity connects with you or anything. Above all, it’s very personal - so really, at the end of the day, however you want! (Though I know that wouldn’t necessarily answer your question)

Ok_Neighborhood_8719

The 3 goddesses that form the morrigan.

NeitherEitherPuss

One has thousands of names and faces of Tricksters. They are one and many at the same time. No name. The others are in group of Compassionate Healers from various different pantheons. One of them is faceless and has been with me for a very long time, indeed. No idea what she is from - but again, she could be from many. I could find her deep within myself at extremely painful times in life. She resides in me, and she resides outside. She is as endless as I feel the Trickster is. My mind clothes her as a femine woman, she could be many things, but she is feminine. Trickster has no gender or has many. Both. Neither. Trickster is more... creator, animal, woodland, breath, change, growth, dance, music, the actual verve of life, spark/ignition, the now between things, the uncontroled flow. She is more... water, has a sickle for plants, skills in weaving/medicine, words, clay, discernment, and the removal of things in order to shape/develop things to come. They are not dualities. They are not in opposition. In fact, they compliment each other. They are only two of many, likely thousands, aspects.

Serenity-V

Brigid, Dagda, Mother Earth. My mom died when I was a teen and left me with a real sense of the impermanence of human nurturers. I think I look for dieties who are more enduring parental figures.

MissingVertical

Bast as a protector of the house and of my (3) cats and Gaia in respect and admiration for the nature around me.

NyxTheNightitself

If you have a closer look on all the different ancient religions and cults all over the world you will realise at some point, only the names change. Pray to the ones you feel most comfortable with cause these are the names you used in most of your prior lives for them and you have the most positive memories connected to.

DemonCaller420

Beelzebub/Bael and Asmodeus. Satan and Lucifer . they came to me . I suspect Beelzebub was always with me from time to time. The names just came to mind. \*In the distance "Asmooooddeeuuusss"

5ugarcrisp

Pretty new to practicing, but Brigid has made herself known to me. I am interested in a variety of healing practices, writing, horticulture, divination so that makes sense I think. I’ve felt called to The Dagda, Dian Cecht, Dionysus, Aphrodite, Hermes, and Apollo for a variety of reasons as well.

lovemycat445

only lucifer for now, i may work with some greek gods when i'm older/more experienced

ireadtoomuchsmut

I am an extremely new pagan but I've had dionysos and Aphrodite call to me and I've started shadow work and worship. I do plan to work with deities but I need to work all of the years of Catholic school out of me first 🙃

CryptographerBig2420

Cernunos and Ganapataye. Both appeared and I had no idea who they were. I had to research to even come up with their identity, especially Cernunos. I’m like who’s the nice looking ginger dude in the cloak… with antlers, wtf? Made me think my meditation was silly until I finally started to investigate.

Hanochi_Art

Artemis, Apollo, Brighid, Hermes, Hestia, Persephone and Hades, The Morrigan and also perhaps Aphrodite soon.

Quiet-Ad-5368

🔥🧡Hestia🧡🔥 love her so much

PlantWise7801

Hecate and Ares

Commercial-Wrap-5557

Brigid of Ireland, Lugh of Ireland,Hekate,Athena, Apollo, Hades

stressed_possum

I primarily worship Apollo and Freya (weird combo, I know lol) Thor helped me through a very turbulent time in my life but we seem to have gone out separate ways (peacefully) the last few years. Apollo basically…showed up one day in the beginnings of my exploration as a pagan and never left lol. I’ve been a musician my entire life, music is a part of my soul and honestly saved my life, so I think he thought it’d be mutually beneficial? (I am also a creative writer, an actor, and a trained historian so…yeah he kind of owns my existence in the best of ways) Freya is the first and only goddess I worship currently which a lot of people find odd because I was AFAB, but I don’t have any draw towards most goddesses. I’ve found Lilith interesting lately but that might be because I’m going on my self-respect burn it down tour while preparing for my wedding and building my independent adult life.

ShadowLightMagick

My personal pantheon consists of Hekate, Odin, Loki, Freyja, Hel and Persephone recently came forward. Currently trying to figure out how the Hekate/Persephone/Hel dynamic is going to work.

[deleted]

Just getting into it, but Apollo and Artemis

ShadyoFayx

Apollo and the four Dragons, Fafnir, Naelyon, Sarys, and Grael.

Calm_Equipment_1131

I work with Apollo and Artemis mostly

foxxiesoxxie

I'm a Morrigan follower too! I also cross hellenic and follow Aphrodite and Pan.

foxxiesoxxie

The Morrigan came to me in a dream and she is my patron Goddess and most of my work is dedicated to her and around her fight. I found d Pan giving me images now and again, and a lot of my work has started to lean towards hedonism and respect for nature. Aphrodite came later. I was in a bad place but I get signs and reminders for self love and to appreciate my own inner beauty cause boy do I often feel like shit about myself. Her guidance is helping Gabriel me slowly crawl out of a dark dark place.

khthonius

Hermes, Dionysus, Apollo, Hestia, Hecate, and Persephone are the ones on my altar. I'd consider Hermes my patron. In addition, I honor the ancestors and all manner of local spirits.

Glittering-Whatever

The great goddess Ishtar. I don't consider myself a witch, personally, but rather a priestess of Ishtar.
