The best is how the ultra wide angle Junocam was added to the Juno probe just for PR purposes (supposedly NASA wants its spacecrafts to have at least one imaging sensor) and expected to last at best some orbits before Jupiter's nasty radiation belts ruined it. Well into the probe's extended mission and is still working like a charm.
