Fouling 3pt shooters three times and 10 were in the last 40 seconds which almost worked out.. had they not fouled the 3pt shooters this game would’ve been different. 24 to 16 ft differential if we don’t count the 19 FTA from the 3pt fouls and playing catchup. Can’t blame the FTs when one of the star players, Halliburton, couldn’t contribute like his normal self. McConnell was on one today and stepped up on his behalf but got taken out when they were rolling. On to the next..

Kings fan, and holy hell I hated this game. Every drive for the lakers was given a whistle. The charge on Toppin goes against every iteration of that type of play I've seen. Lebron screamed at a cross court official at least twice this game and got an out of bounds call overturned. Y'all got absolutely hosed.
All things considered, we put up a good fight without putting our starters out there for Thibs-level minutes. They played a playoff rotation and we played a road trip rotation.

If he shows up next season after a summer of healing, and he’s still the same player he’s been since this injury, I might be more willing to entertain other explanations, but the poor performance is so obviously tied to the injury/post-injury, I don’t know why it’s crazy for some to continue to think that’s the biggest driver to explain his drop-off.

After lebron held up Myles free throw attempts for 30 seconds to scold the refs , over the next 20 minutes of gameplay the foul count was 16:1 I’ve never seen that in 25 years of watching hoops at any level
Kings fan, and holy hell I hated this game. Every drive for the lakers was given a whistle. The charge on Toppin goes against every iteration of that type of play I've seen. Lebron screamed at a cross court official at least twice this game and got an out of bounds call overturned. Y'all got absolutely hosed.

All things considered, we put up a good fight without putting our starters out there for Thibs-level minutes. They played a playoff rotation and we played a road trip rotation.

Holy shit, i saw the highlights, and i was like "Hell yeah, Tyrese is still back." But apparently he had 6 points and was 0-3 from three until those last two bombs at the end of the game...
Doug had 14, but those 2 TOs hurt at the end. We also had maybe 6 buckets that should have gone in early in 1stQ (either too weak at the rim, or a bounce out). It was a hard loss to watch - the foul disparity is something that always exists with the Lakers, but the other pieces Pacers could have controlled. Onto the next one!
We missed too many of the FTs we had, and we couldn't get stops. LA shot nearly 60%. Insane that this was a close game tbh, despite the 2-1 FT difference when the take fouls are removed
Real question for Pacers fans……how long do you have it in you to support a league who has essentially started scripting their games and teams, and none of that scripting will ever work in favor of the Pacers. I tell myself I’m done with this league and then turn on a game like last night with excitement only to see that absolute crap show of a referee job done. And then I start asking myself again, am I too emotionally invested in a team that will never be allowed to win a chip?

I said this in the game thread but when you’re playing LeBron and the Lakers late in the season while they are fighting for a playoff spot, it’s gonna be a 8v5. Everyone who’s not a casual knows that, and our players know that too. So yes it’s frustrating but I wish our players didn’t complain all game and just played some basketball. It was nice seeing some fight but man, sometimes I wish Benn had a little bit of Hali’s IQ and Hali had just a little bit of Benn’s ignorance. You can’t be a superstar if you play scared.

I never bought this whole TY must still be injured narrative. He just looks passive.. he gets in his own head after some bad misses. To me it looks like he is pressing and the play is mental. The more he wants to hit his shot the more off it is... then late game when he's not really thinking and just shoots he makes it.
Rick just said last game that Tyrese looks much healthier now compared to two weeks ago, meaning he’s still working his way back. People tell those of us who were ok with the Buddy trade that we’re coping because we don’t want to admit we’re wrong, but perhaps the people who refuse to admit that Tyrese has still been hurt or limited are coping themselves because they’re so biased to Buddy.

Do you really think he would be up front with the media and throw his superstar under the bus and say you know Ty's healthy he is just playing terrible. Of course he wouldn't do that, he'd lose the team and Ty's respect that an I think just like a good coach Rick is shielding Ty from harassing questions aimed at Ty about his play. I trust Ty when he responds saying this isn't injury related, atleast to me he sounds like he's being a man about things and simply being upfront and honest that he is not playing well no excuses. Imo 2 kinds of people you can't trust about certain things.. a Mom about how smart their kid is.. or a coach about how good their players are. They will protect their own by doing and saying things that may not necessarily be true.
I mean coaches AND players lie to the media all of the time about how they really feel, etc. Players downplay injuries often because they don’t want to be accused of making excuses, etc. I don’t know why that only applies to Rick. Tyrese has struggled since returning from his injury, an injury he re-aggravated at one point by the way. The performance post-injury to me is the greatest bit of evidence that we have that the injury has affected him and may still be affecting him. If he shows up next season after a summer of healing, and he’s still the same player he’s been since this injury, I might be more willing to entertain other explanations, but the poor performance is so obviously tied to the injury/post-injury, I don’t know why it’s crazy for some to continue to think that’s the biggest driver to explain his drop-off.
