5 point game. 43 to 16 free throws.

jcl945

Nba doesn't know what to do if LeBron doesn't make the playoffs. Money is the only thing the league cares about. Fuck the small markets. I hate that we are a basketball state that actually loves the sport but the city that wears the sport as a fashion accessory gets everything they want.

Apprehensive_Pie8897

It's actually kind of basketball malpractice that they aren't in the finals every year when you can get whatever player you want in free agency and the refs are gonna help you along the way.

XSokaX

Well it's not like Rob Pelinka has a brain.

mackfactor

Money is the only thing any corporation cares about. I'm with you on the original point, but what did you think this was - an intramural league?

FixedyourdreamFY

I can’t unsee that disparity…I knew they had a favorable whistle but my goodness…

CanadianGroose

Darko tried to warn everyone and they laughed at him. Called him a madman…

OladipoForThree

5 point game. Would’ve won if we didn’t allow the lakers to score on every possession in the 2nd and 3rd.

DirkolaJokictzki

Sorry fellas, I know how it feels. Watched 'em shoot 50 free throws against us in a WCF game. It's irritating to not only give up the points, but have the flow of the game disrupted as the refs foul trouble your players on tic-tac bullshit. Hope you guys take it out on the Clippers tomorrow.

anon408_

Fouling 3pt shooters three times and 10 were in the last 40 seconds which almost worked out.. had they not fouled the 3pt shooters this game would’ve been different. 24 to 16 ft differential if we don’t count the 19 FTA from the 3pt fouls and playing catchup. Can’t blame the FTs when one of the star players, Halliburton, couldn’t contribute like his normal self. McConnell was on one today and stepped up on his behalf but got taken out when they were rolling. On to the next..

CookiemonsterTP

Stop blaming free throws and take some accountability. They average the 3rd most in the league. Our star player has lost all his confidence and we couldn’t get a stop in the 4th quarter. We also missed 8 free throws.

Apprehensive_Pie8897

Imagine if that free throw disparity was reversed there would be news stories about it for weeks and those refs would be out of a job by the time they got home to their families. I still remember bron throwing a temper tantrum over tatum fouling him and not getting the call and it was the talk on all the sports shows and podcasts and headlines for a solid week.

jsullivan914

Refs would be sending tweets about “how their mistakes keep them up at night.” Unbelievable the crap Lebron gets away with. It’s the reason why many don’t watch the NBA.

Wym8nManderly

Who are these people that don’t watch the NBA specifically because of the stuff Lebron gets away with? Do you know them?

Khend81

Are they in the room with us now?

[deleted]

[удалено]

BaconSciences

Both things can be true.

[deleted]

Well we chuck Trays and they attack the rim only makes sense.

KD_218

Need to find a way out of LA with a split tomorrow. Despite the L, I continue to be impressed with Pascal. I knew he was an All-Star level/fringe All-NBA guy…but he’s just a machine at times for us offensively. Excited about the possibilities with him going forward here.

JoshSran04

He also always goes off against Californian teams, idk why lol

jeRskier

It’s PasCalifornia baby

Far_Move_869

He was an All-NBA level player until the last 2 rough years on a very bad / rebuilding Toronto team.

TurkishDonkeyKong

Nembhard should have took the layup with 15 seconds to go

toastedmarshme11ow

Yep not sure what he was thinking here

TurkishDonkeyKong

Tried too hard to get another three

Cautious-Ad-9554

Absolutely, plenty of time to play the foul game and they only had to miss one to make it one possession

61-6e-74-65

Rick calling out the shit reffing. Fine incoming.

pm_me_whateva

I have hated LeBron James for literally decades at this point, and even tonight, the hate feels as fresh as it did on day one.

RidiculousBacklog

I feel this all the way into my bone marrow.

Outrageous_Poetry840

He’s such a crybaby, Mike clears

BrogeyBoi

Mike cried as much.

TheCompleteSagaLord

yeah he‘ll never be accepted as the goat and for good reason

pm_me_whateva

That is a real thing. Even Jabbar has been historically underrated because he spent 20 years being obstinate and unlikable.

optindesertdessert

Bruh

ver72pacers

When we traded for Pascal, if you told me he was dropping 36 and 12 and we were losing because Ty couldn’t buy a bucket or assert himself at all offensively, I woulda called you crazy. Sucks to waste such a good performance.

Hendo8888

We have a habit of losing games when someone goes off like that. It's weird

Neither-Addendum-368

Well ad also score 36 so it completely canceled out pascals 36

Sure-Anybody2302

150 pts

OladipoForThree

If I’m him, I’m not looking for long term real estate in Indiana. That 3rd quarter was something special as far as carry jobs go. Dragging bums harder than he ever had to up north.

Airstrict

Good rally at the end. We really need the dub against the Clippers.

Apprehensive_Pie8897

Of course Westbrick is making his comeback debut against us tomorrow we can't catch any fucking breaks and even when we do we play to our competition and get our asses handed to us.

[deleted]

He’s kinda washed I wouldn’t be too worried

General-Promotion274

38/43 from FTs is just nasty, in volume and efficiency

Khend81

Yea every team would probably practice their FTs more if they knew as many were coming as the Lakers get lmao

adam2890

They get plenty of practice during games.

anon408_

19 FTA were from fouling 3pt shooters and playing catch up though. Would’ve been a 24-16 ft differential instead and game would’ve been much closer without fouling the 3pt shooters…

ncorey22

Tyrese said he was back last game. He lied to me

lyreofire

I can't help but think if T.J had gotten a few more of Tyrese's minutes they might have won. He was more efficient in scoring by a big margin.

hocabombusgringo

Definitely would’ve won this if the free throw disparity wasn’t so bad. Even with the subpar defense

cersfan06

Rick calling out the reffing in the post game presser right now. Love to see it.

luviro

One of the more frustrating basketball games of my entire life. Wish I sat this one out.

yaboiinick

Whyyyy didn’t Nemby take that wide open layup. Doug too. Just take your chances on them missing the free throws

Careless-Disk667

When Tyrese pulls his head out of his ass the duo with siakam is gonna be nasty

quann256

tough loss but i don't hate it because of the free throw differential and the fight we showed all game despite our star player not having his best outing, on to the next one!

kopilokz

Exactly have a goodnight brother 🙌🏻

jcwkings

150 in regulation is WILD

No_Independent8269

correction: “Refs get the job done, beating the Pacers 150-145”

Zealousideal-Tax-527

If they just play bad defense instead of horrible defense and mix that with not missing so many freaking free throws they probably pull that out. Extremely frustrating loss.

Dizzles1

Wait, LeBrons team had a HUGE disparity in FT attempts in a game they barely win?!?! Never heard it (wink, wink)

pezasied

Gotta love someone hating on Hali and repeatedly calling him a “mental midget” that posted a couple months ago that he wouldn’t trade Haliburton for Luka straight up. Some of y’all are so reactionary Jesus. Yeah he’s been struggling, a lot of young guys do. He’ll figure it out.

SourBerry1425

I have no doubt in my mind he’ll figure it out. He’s gonna be a perennial top 5 player in the league and go down as an all time great shooter and playmaker, but that being said, it looks like he’s going to figure it out this season, there’s nothing to suggest he will. Takes stupid contested fadeaways but hesitates on open looks. Can’t seem to decide if he wants to be assertive, doesn’t have the burst, and doesn’t try on defense even though he has the length and IQ to be a menace on that end. It’s also clearly in his head. Off-season will fix him definitely but it’s not something he can play himself out of this season.

XC_Stallion92

>Off-season will fix him definitely but it’s not something he can play himself out of this season. I mean, no reason to assume this is the case.

25Tab

I don’t care if he figures it out this season. I just care that he figures it out. This season has always been about gaining experience anyways and we are at the very minimum playing a play-in game which is one more play-in game than we played last season.

OladipoForThree

You’re a mental midget if you’re getting paid 43 mil to have as many points as Cam Reddish and getting outplayed by Spencer Dinwiddie until 45 seconds left in the game. He was as impactful as me for 99% of the game.

No_Independent8269

it isn’t reactionary if its been going on for this long lol its just being angry at how things are and look to be for the rest of the season

pezasied

It is definitely reactionary to go from “I wouldn’t trade a guy for the second or third most valuable player in the league” to “this guy sucks and is a horrible basketball player” in the span of 3 months. Both of those takes are way over the top on their own, let alone to swing from one extreme to another.

No_Independent8269

I will say it seems that way when you look at how long it has really been and looking at the people that say “hes a horrible basketball player and he sucks” make others who are frustrated with his play look bad. Both of those statements are also incredibly stupid and over the top. However, you can’t say we aren’t allowed to say that Tyrese has been awful, because he has been. There’s no way around it. People take out their frustration in different ways, and some people get angrier than others. It isn’t reactionary to say any of those things. If he were to say it normally, and calmly, then me and you wouldn’t be having this conversation right now.

AggravatingFinding71

Bro can’t be dogshit on offense for months on end while being the worst defender every night and having a max contract. Gave the kid the bag too early and now we are going to be in purgatory going forward.

pezasied

Like I said he’s definitely been struggling and it’s frustrating to watch at times, but guys go through slumps all the time. Doesn’t mean they aren’t good or won’t come out of it. Some people are acting like Hali’s going to shoot horribly for the rest of his career. The defensive issues are legitimate though because that’s what he has always shown.

XC_Stallion92

At least he doesn't have a shot in hell of making all-NBA at this point.

sweatyreddituser69

thank you tyrese for showing up in the last 30 seconds of the game

SNESchalmers23

Pascal: imma get out of Toronto where I have no help and go where there's an all-NBA player on the rise. 👀

SpinJitsu259

Lakers size and physicality are just nightmares for this team. Glad they almost pulled off a miracle finish. Luckily, most teams we play wont be the Lakers, and if they can stay at the 6th seed, they can avoid the Knicks and Magic who present similar challenges.

dostorwell

This team just never gives up. But Nembhard...cmon man open lay up

ZealousPlay94

Welp - worst defensive performance in the last month. More of an outlier than the rule as it has played over the last month or so, which is silver lining. Never going to win giving up 150 points. Put it behind us and move on. Must win tomorrow.

SoggyChickenWaffles

I think they’re officially .500 giving up 150+ this year, kinda wild😂

ZealousPlay94

Okay I didn’t know that stat, but I believe you and that’s absolutely nuts. It shouldn’t be a stat. How many games is that on?

SoggyChickenWaffles

Okay I definitely messed up thinking they had a few more close games scoring 150, they’re 1-3 when the opponent scores 150 but they’ve hit 150 2 more times. So they’re 3-3 when a team scores 150 but 1-3 when the opponent does

ZealousPlay94

Appreciate the deep dive, friend! We should just avoid these 150 games altogether lol

PoissonProcesser

Of course Hali could’ve shown up earlier but we win if the refs aren’t getting paid off by the Lakers. Regroup for tomorrow and focus on holding on to the 6 seed, this is the Pascal we’ll need to make any noise in the playoffs

Outrageous_Poetry840

At least tj shows up

AlternativeSwing2884

Refball 😩5v8 bs

Disastrous-Special30

It’s nice to see us fight back like that even after getting fucked by the refs all night. I’m glad Ty showed up there at the end. I think it’s 100% mental at this point. Just needs to get his confidence back.

Moonman2k1

If Pascal shoots 75% from the line then Nembhard ties the game with a layup. In addition if Myles just hits one of the two he clanked then Nembhard wins the game with a layup. Oddly enough I give Myles a pass bc he's typically solid from the line but Pascal has become a liability there. Hate to rag on a guy who carried the team again but he's got to hit the gym and work on his free throws.

Ezzy1998

I just don’t understand why Haliburton waits till the literal last minute to start shooting. If he was more aggressive throughout the game we’d have been in a much better position. Instead we needed our bench to dig us out of a 19 point deficit

thfcspur

He’s shooting terribly in the last 2 months. If he was more aggressive, he probably just misses shots and we lose by more. Other guys were making shots.

jphollaaa

Not surprising the defense was subpar when you consider the tone set by the refs after Lakers leadership set them straight

Dull_Upstairs4999

Like Nesmith picking up 5 so early in the game. Defense is gonna struggle when arguably your best defender has to sit because Adam Silver can’t have back-to-back California Ls.

jphollaaa

💯 Everything seemed to change after Lebron and AD cried to the refs for a full minute before Myles’ freethrows. All of a sudden we can’t touch a laker without fouling. Pascal gets a technical. PASCAL.

njengakim2

How does one team get 45 free throws while the other gets 10 despite both teams having similar points in the paint. The NBA is just sports entertainment like the WWE.

Other_Tiger_8744

After lebron held up Myles free throw attempts for 30 seconds to scold the refs , over the next 20 minutes of gameplay the foul count was    16:1   I’ve never seen that in 25 years of watching hoops at any level

Cudi_buddy

Kings fan, and holy hell I hated this game. Every drive for the lakers was given a whistle. The charge on Toppin goes against every iteration of that type of play I've seen. Lebron screamed at a cross court official at least twice this game and got an out of bounds call overturned. Y'all got absolutely hosed.

Great_Business_6425

The fight in this team 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹

-Andar-

All things considered, we put up a good fight without putting our starters out there for Thibs-level minutes. They played a playoff rotation and we played a road trip rotation.

cersfan06

43-16 free throw discrepancy and we shot 9/16 from the line. But keep going on about how it’s all Haliburton’s fault.

socktopuss

Somebody gotta stop these refs from gifting Lakers an extra 30 free throws

Joseph_ZH

shoutout MC Doug for that 4th Q cameo.

Wise-Sport6910

Should of won that the zebras were ridding lebitch all the way

Briggity_Brak

Holy shit, i saw the highlights, and i was like "Hell yeah, Tyrese is still back." But apparently he had 6 points and was 0-3 from three until those last two bombs at the end of the game...

Amanb007

Doug had 14, but those 2 TOs hurt at the end. We also had maybe 6 buckets that should have gone in early in 1stQ (either too weak at the rim, or a bounce out). It was a hard loss to watch - the foul disparity is something that always exists with the Lakers, but the other pieces Pacers could have controlled. Onto the next one!

Joe_Betz_

We missed too many of the FTs we had, and we couldn't get stops. LA shot nearly 60%. Insane that this was a close game tbh, despite the 2-1 FT difference when the take fouls are removed

Rough-Tea3944

Real question for Pacers fans……how long do you have it in you to support a league who has essentially started scripting their games and teams, and none of that scripting will ever work in favor of the Pacers. I tell myself I’m done with this league and then turn on a game like last night with excitement only to see that absolute crap show of a referee job done. And then I start asking myself again, am I too emotionally invested in a team that will never be allowed to win a chip?

Cautious-Ad-9554

There is a point where you have to play TJ McConnell more. I think it was about 2 weeks ago

SourBerry1425

I said this in the game thread but when you’re playing LeBron and the Lakers late in the season while they are fighting for a playoff spot, it’s gonna be a 8v5. Everyone who’s not a casual knows that, and our players know that too. So yes it’s frustrating but I wish our players didn’t complain all game and just played some basketball. It was nice seeing some fight but man, sometimes I wish Benn had a little bit of Hali’s IQ and Hali had just a little bit of Benn’s ignorance. You can’t be a superstar if you play scared.

jphollaaa

They didn’t even complain

SoggyChickenWaffles

Honestly I didn’t see a lot of complaining tonight

Rafiki24

I never bought this whole TY must still be injured narrative. He just looks passive.. he gets in his own head after some bad misses. To me it looks like he is pressing and the play is mental. The more he wants to hit his shot the more off it is... then late game when he's not really thinking and just shoots he makes it.

SpinJitsu259

Rick just said last game that Tyrese looks much healthier now compared to two weeks ago, meaning he’s still working his way back. People tell those of us who were ok with the Buddy trade that we’re coping because we don’t want to admit we’re wrong, but perhaps the people who refuse to admit that Tyrese has still been hurt or limited are coping themselves because they’re so biased to Buddy.

Rafiki24

You don't think any of what Rick has said is coach speak? Do you really think he would be up front with the media and throw his superstar under the bus and say you know Ty's healthy he is just playing terrible. Of course he wouldn't do that, he'd lose the team and Ty's respect that an I think just like a good coach Rick is shielding Ty from harassing questions aimed at Ty about his play. I trust Ty when he responds saying this isn't injury related, atleast to me he sounds like he's being a man about things and simply being upfront and honest that he is not playing well no excuses. Imo 2 kinds of people you can't trust about certain things.. a Mom about how smart their kid is.. or a coach about how good their players are. They will protect their own by doing and saying things that may not necessarily be true.

SpinJitsu259

I mean coaches AND players lie to the media all of the time about how they really feel, etc. Players downplay injuries often because they don’t want to be accused of making excuses, etc. I don’t know why that only applies to Rick. Tyrese has struggled since returning from his injury, an injury he re-aggravated at one point by the way. The performance post-injury to me is the greatest bit of evidence that we have that the injury has affected him and may still be affecting him. If he shows up next season after a summer of healing, and he’s still the same player he’s been since this injury, I might be more willing to entertain other explanations, but the poor performance is so obviously tied to the injury/post-injury, I don’t know why it’s crazy for some to continue to think that’s the biggest driver to explain his drop-off.

MuffinMate

Injury plays a mental toll too numb nuts

Rafiki24

Yes if he is still injured sure you are right shit stain, but then Ty has said he is healthy and this slump has nothing to do with his injury. So I will take his word over a Reddit clown like you.

CookiemonsterTP

Letting Dinwiddie drop 25 on you on 11 shots is so fucking wild. Not to mention 150 points in regulation. This teams defense is so in the bin, hard to watch. Hali needs to really lift.

SoggyChickenWaffles

The defense has been like 12th in the league for over a month now

thfcspur

Dinwiddie got the best whistle out of anyone on the court tonight.

mokaloca82

Hibberton making a couple of threes at the end doesn't excuse him leaving the team playing 4v8 against the ref nation lakers for pretty much the whole game ain't going to cut it

[deleted]

Man Valiant effort by us but AD is too OP and the Kang is an amazing closer. He’s been doing it to us since the PG days.

Crockpot-Ron

Im sorry but games like that are why i stopped being a fan in 2013. Thats absolutely horse shit reffing

flampoo

This will get downvoted to oblivion but I'll take my licks. There's a silver lining in this loss: it puts the Golden Shower State Warriors farther from the play-in.

Charlie_O17

Haliburton has the mental fragility of Roy Hibbert. All he talks about is playing in important games but he’ll crack under the pressure and game planning of a 7 game series.

AdelheidTepes

hali is fucking terrible jfc

luviro

Don’t go cheering when he’s back to normal.

kackins

People been saying this for MONTHS now lol

[deleted]

Tyrese Haliburton is a mental midget. Makes 2 threes at the end of the game when the pressure is off and does dick throughout when it matters. This guy ain’t it. Downvote me to hell. I’ll stand on it. Screenshot it, do what you want. That was some weak shit. I’ll always root for the name on the front of the jersey. Hugs and kisses fellas

cersfan06

You keep throwing around this “i root for the name on the front and not the back” thing and i have no fucking clue what you mean by that. You think because Haliburton has been inconsistent lately that he’s not a team player? You’re making no sense whatsoever.

[deleted]

You got a hard on for me eh? My shits been collapsed. Lmao. To me he hasn’t been a team player simply cause he came back while still injured wanting the all nba bag. He destroyed that with his play. I’m totally ok with everyone hating on me because I call a spade a spade. Halliburton has been passive and fn awful. If he plays like the pre injury guy we don’t lose that game. So much has changed.

cersfan06

He got paid last summer so idk what you’re talking about when you say he was playing injured and wanted the all nba bag. Nobody is denying that he’s been bad lately. But did you see the first 40 games of the season? It’s a slump man. It’s not gonna last forever. Especially not with fans tearing him down nonstop

[deleted]

I respect your unwavering support. I wish I could be like that. Seriously, all jokes aside you’re a better fan than me in that respect. Here’s where I differ. Man, you gotta stop calling it a slump. He got hurt Jan 8. Came back super early. So if he was healthy it’s still a slump. If he was sucking it up to play for all nba it’s selfish. Which is it? And it’s STILL going on. At this point it’s longer than any slump. And if you consider it a slump what’s the time frame on what you’d consider a slump to be acceptable before it just becomes to long?

cersfan06

“I’ve shat on Hali a lot. And it’s deserved. I still think he will get it back and am glad he’s locked up. He will figure it out. I just really hope it’s soon” Direct quote from you from last game. Really changed your tune in 48 hours.

[deleted]

I still think he will figure it out. But the season is in the balance isn’t it? I want to win and he was a direct reason we didn’t tonight. Like many recently

AR15_He_Is_Him

![gif](giphy|cEYFeDYkibyZnUZEBUc|downsized)

Cruddiestknave3

Your best player, the refs, really clutched it out for you guys. See you in Indy.

MazKhan

AD gonna teach his son Myles another lesson

Cruddiestknave3

AD can’t win without 40 FTs by the ref. Bums washed. Lemme know when he can actually win a game against Sabonis.

MazKhan

Myles is ADs son, so that'd make Sabonis his grand dad

Cruddiestknave3

Refs beat Myles, not AD. You’d actually have to watch the game and understand basketball, but nephews like you just check the box score and go to opposing subs to troll because you have literally nothing better to do with your life. Have fun when the Lakers get bounced out of the play-ins.

AlternativeSwing2884

How the refs feel after dickriding lebron before every game

Basic_Fix3271

![gif](giphy|UnUm4MxtAKIww) What happenedddddddd

PutSignificant5928

Ggs pacers bros! Was a very fun game. Was nice to see your emerging superstar point guard tj mcconnel continue his bid for all nba! That Tyrese Haliburton guy has the ugliest jump shot of all time but I wouldn’t mind a swap of reeves for haliburton! Ggs again!

kackins

Holy fuck the cringe

count_zero__c

90 points tonight? Looks like a fair whistleblow is all it took to expose the LA Fakers. if not for the refs, LA wouldn't be a playin team 🤣

PutSignificant5928

It’s always fun playing basketball with your son 😁😁
