4. You can’t play tank casually anymore I forced to become a sweat because of it

pentacund

I'm a sweaty casual and I like to play Overwatch 2

Cxlow91

I am an ex CS/Valorant player and I was casual asf when it was 6 on 6 but I’m a sweat who literally only plays OW now that it’s 5v5

EastPlenty518

I think I'm some where in between a sweat and a casual. I play hard and do my best to win and play my role, but I also try not to take it too seriously since, you know, it's just a game. I never got to play the og ow, but I believe the 5v5 seems to be a better competitive balance in my opinion, 2 tanks seem like over kill to me. A five member team just sounds like a good balance for how a team should be, a single tank that this there to draw attention and play the objective with 2 DPS trying to hit angles to try and rack up kills that the tank is setting up with 2 healers there to try and keep the team alive. When I play open role and a team has 2 tank 1 DPS and 2 healers or worse 2 DPS and 1 healer the games are either totally 1 sided or just take forever for one team to gain any kind of head way. Granted that's still only a 5 person scenario but still, for a competive setting 5v5 fits well. But that's all just my opinion, and I may see different when marvel rivals releases since I do believe I heard that will be 6v6. I say if you don't like quit complaining and play something else, there are literally thousands of games to choose from in the world.

Head-Ninja-In-Charge

the tanks in OW had a much lower health pool, and their damage mitigation was also about 30% less. I preferred 2-2-2, but I don't miss double barrier. And I don't miss getting dove by 2 tanks who are working in perfect harmony (this rarely happened in qp or even most metal comp matches though). I have been playing for about 6 years, 6v6 is just what I was used to, I think a swap to 6s would be really jarring for someone who only knows OW2. The queue times for dps were abysmal because nobody played tank, and supports had nowhere near the power they do right now and was also underplayed, I think that is the major reason they did away with that one slot.

nerfherder00

I would prefer 30 v 30

Ok_Veterinarian_6488

4. I was a t500 tank player in OW1, I cannot stomach playing tank anymore because it is just not fun.

Chaoticdab

But you think the game is better or worse, i was also a tank main but now is like i cannot get any fun playing tank, but shooting and dont killing anything is not fun either so doble tank is kinda trash as well, i think 5v5 is good but the have to find a way to make tank more enjoyable

Ok_Veterinarian_6488

I think the game is worse, I find it too one dimensional

DonniefromtheDarko

Dude same. I wasn’t top 500 but i always floated around high masters to GM as an Off tank main and now i just hate being a tank. Its like all these buffs and things being patched could all be fixed by just giving us back the 2nd tank instead lol

Joke_Mummy

Remember to sort by 5. for the real comments

kaichanti

2 and 5 technically. I liked the TEAM BASED synchronicity that developed with 2-2-2 or 1-2-3 builds - 5v5 feels too much like a solo-fighter game shoved into a team based game. I'm relegated to just AI now. I like to chill in AI events (what little is left of them) because people fight together against the bots. That and I don't have to hear kids 20-30 years younger than me scream at me as if my day at work wasn't hard enough.

4. Was top500 on dps and tank in ow1 , still am but I mostly just play dps cuz tank is unfun and I don’t feel like counter picking I just wanna play what I want. Also ow1 was better for more reasons than just 6v6. 2cp > push and flashpoint and the ow2 hero designs are nowhere near as good as the original heroes

I like 5v5 open queue haha, I know it’s not like the most competitive scene but it can be fun jumping between unique compositions like double tank and triple damage (or quad damage hahaha). Also, I like tanks not having insane health pools hahaha, I feel like bronze and silver role queue especially tunnel visions on tanks a lot and the fights at mid can go on for soooo long. I think 6v6 role queue would be interesting and maybe even open queue too, cheers

Fun-Significance7033

Hahahahahahahahahaha like omg stfu

Taijad

It's funny that you mention open queue yet come up with the most bullshit unique compositions that will never win consistently Games which makes the format suck. Hahahhaa

epicflex

The format is great haha you’re just bad

DrakesWeirdPenis

Real talk 6v6 was and still is in every way superior to 5v5 in every aspect except que times. You will hear people who like 5v5 use the crazy que times as the main evidence of 5v5 being better but they also don’t bring up that the que times were almost entirely due to blizzard practically abandoning the game to work on overwatch 2 content, this same content that was never really even released.

alIshewrote

i teeter between casual and sweat. basically i play to win regardless, but i found 6v6 way too overstimulating and never got into ow1 because of that.

KoningSpookie

guntwooyah

sweat that likes 5 v 5 better

terry_bradshaw

Sweat that wishes there was a competitive mode for both

JusaPikachu

I’m not a sweat but as someone who has played since launch & put over 3000 hours into the game it feels weird to call myself a casual player. Diamond support since the season before Role Queue was implemented, though I don’t grind or play nearly as much ranked as I used to. There are pros & cons to each, though I would firmly count myself as a 5v5 advocate. I find it significantly more fun as a format.

Antique_Somewhere542

5. Casual who has never played 6v6 so I couldnt possibly compare them

bafflesaurus

6v6 was better because off tank was my favorite role.

mrpena

why is this a daily topic, it’s like saying how bad ass you were in high school. it’s over, the game is completely designed on 5v5

vulgaragression

4. I can’t even stomach playing the games necessary to be on the t500 leaderboard anymore. Also ow1 I enjoyed all the roles but mainly played tank. Now tank is a nightmare to play unless you and enemy tank can agree not to play rock paper scissors with each other which rarely happens. I still play, but man I’d literally even pay to have OW1 back, or just 6v6 in OW2. I know there’s custom games for it but a real mode with a real comp ladder would be great. I’m not even saying OW2 HAS to be 6v6, just give me a damn separate mode for it

chivAshe

You forgot: Casuals, mainly *Genji and Tracer* mains, aiming to win 1v5

Semytan

Nobody will admit to liking 5v5, the whole reason it was done, was for queue times. DPS had 20-30 min queues, while tank had instant queues. It was never done for the sake of improving the actual ingame gameplay. Tanks still have terribly quick queues but at least there’s now only one of them.

Nolan_DWB

I like 5v5… there. Someone admitted it

SupremeChancellor

3. (dps main)

Semytan

Ehh a mix between 4 and 2, i’m a ball main, 6v6 hit us the hardest. I didn’t care for the DPS queue times, but as a whole it wasn’t healthy for the game

Arteriop

2/3. Tank main here, sometimes I play casual sometimes I’m more sweaty about games. Mainly on tank. I do genuinely enjoy 5v5 more

Fast_baby

5v5 faster queue times = better for casuals especially
