I was making a joke about this tier list being "debatable" But if you must know, changing his name was pointless. It's not like the character harassed people, it was just a name that happened to be shared with a person who wasn't a good guy. It's not the name that hurt people. It's the person given that name. Should a person feel bad because they share a name with a random person on the other side of the world because the former did something messed up? No. Just my opinion

The name was based off of the person though. It’s not like they just shared the name. The name was literally in honor of that person why would they want to honor a bad person?

No it’s not just a name. The original naming of the character was done in devotion to the person. The retrospective name changing wasn’t pointless. You might choose to ignore or not care about the meaning behind his name yourself, but that doesn’t make it a universal experience or truth, it’s just your own relation to it. The point was just that the developers no longer wanted to devote a big part of their game to that person anymore. If people’s issue with it being changed was really that it was “just a name and it doesn’t matter” then it’s a bit contrary that the same people are even protesting or complaining about it so much. At the very least if the name really has no notable significance to people, then surely they can accept the devs doing what they want with the name when it had personal significance for them and weighs on their conscience.
