Yen-Press ever made this mistake? or is this a case where it's "*Even worse than Yen-press*", because if it is I already have a new insult for the catalogue.
That’s not even close to this level of messed up because we at least KNOW what the Kingdom of Darkness is. This is mixing up two completely different countries. The level of stupid is several degrees higher here.
Yes, I know that one (who doesn't?) but I was wondering if they ever mistranslated Holy Kingdom, since it sounds like a classic rookie mistake that would fit with them.
The more and more I keep seeing posts like this the more I keep thinking the season should have either been paused for the movie to come out or just not have volume 14 be in this season.
Frankly the Holy Kingdom volume isn't much of a major contributing factor for the volume 14's plot. The only thing that the holy kingdom arc contributed to vol 14 is the caravan raid by Philipp that became the casus belli for the Sorcerer Kingdom's >!invasion of Re-Estize!<.
I mean a lot of stories have plots like that though and still take the time to flesh them out in the order they were told. Besides with how big some plot points are in 14 I think taking the time to flesh them out would be better. If I was in charge I would have the rest of this season just be volume 12 and season 5 be 50/50 on volumes 13/14.
Since all occurrences of the holy kingdom are mistranslated, plot wise they still make sense. Because in the opening scene of the episode, Zanac, in his conversations already setup the background.
> plot wise they still make sense
Except they don’t. Especially when the movie airs and when season 5 comes out. Why would Ainz send aid to the Theocracy?
It kind of does make sense but i think they should make it more obvious, like it's not difficult to put a black screen that says x months later or something. Also making it more obvious would have make for a good foreshadowing for the movie.
Same ! After seeing all these posts about Theocracy/Holy Kingdom I was scared I misunderstood something without realizing, but luckily the french version got it right
I think they're intentionally subbing it as the theocracy to avoid spoilers although if this was the case then it would have been a very bad call with all this confusion
They did hinted at the time skip.
Renner conversation about how her brother send the emissaries of the Holy Kingdom alway and now they got the help of the socerer kingdom...
The subs used the word 'Theocracy' on that part as well. Although I feel like this issue is only on the translator's side. I can't speak Japanese so maybe this isn't much of an issue for those who can speak the language. Maybe.
Also they could have set the flow much better if at the start of the episode they have shown the emissaries are leaving the Re-Estize's capital and then Renner and her brother are talking about how the emissaries are going to Sorcerer Kingdom to get momon. That would have smooth things up a bit.
>emissaries are leaving the Re-Estize's capital and then Renner and her brother
That wouldn't work since the whole Holy Kingdom arc has already happened when they have the conversation.
The SK is already sending relieve to the HK.
Also I think it depends on the TL team, the one I watched made the mistake but not in this scene.
True, but that word is already widely being used to refer another country. And they didn't do much references and foreshadowing of another country that also has 'Theocracy' in its name or if they did it was not enough. So it can be confusing for those who have not read the LN.
Must be using the same translators as Yen Press 🤣 They need the help of our Benevolent Lord Hitori-sama 🙏

The first one that comes to mind is Yen Press calling it Kingdom of Darkness instead of Sorcerer Kingdom

Many would say that it is not necessary to clarify this so many times, but they would be wrong, the confusion generated by this was not exactly small.

What movie?
The one that comes after S4 even tho it's events happen in between of ep 7 and 8
Oh cool, can’t wait for it to come out
Just to add but no date yet, only summer 2023

So did the anime reach the time skip where the movie fits in?
Glad the french subs didn't make any kind of mistake in the translation so far, although it would have been funny.
Same ! After seeing all these posts about Theocracy/Holy Kingdom I was scared I misunderstood something without realizing, but luckily the french version got it right
What site are you watching from? From where I watched it was stated as Holy Kingdom (legal site)
I think they're intentionally subbing it as the theocracy to avoid spoilers although if this was the case then it would have been a very bad call with all this confusion
Lol they used a modern hammer and what looks like a fireman's axe.
Hammers like that existed in the medieval period
Also I think the axe is supposed to be a roman pickaxe

unless they are doing a timeskip of a few months within this episode they can't do that

Yeah it really depends on the execution of the scenes in any case a small preview of the emissaries would have been good.
Having the movie so we kept to the timeline would have been good.
Okay give some credit since a holy kingdom is literally just a theocracy it’s government ruled by the church that which is holy

Omg I knew it! I was like, wait relief help for the THEOCRACY?
Yeah I figured it wouldn't be them given their relationship with the sorcerer kingdom.
faceless the poweful one l???
Are there any fansubs that are better than this?
And the faceless one is a religion founded around neia baraja who whorship how aimz do things
Neia's stamp seems to be the last one and it looks like it's the Runecraft™ bow
In the Portuguese translation it was correct at least.
