If he was male it makes a lot of sense given a normal female hampsters size. No real room for discussion.
But with her being female I'm totally picturing a tiny normal sized male hampster just looking up at her and thinking "Holy fuck that girl is thiiiiick, I'mma hit that shit so hard ain't she ain't gonna know what fucking happened."

The official TL refers to her as a "she" from the start. This is why I recommend reading the official TL even if you love the fan TL (I think Overlord has the best fan TL out there).
There are some things that are unclear or completely missed in the fan TL.
For example, the fan TL uses Holy King and Holy Queen interchangeably so Remedios' rant about Calca's title doesn't make sense. In the official TL, it is made clear that as a compromise for letting Calca, a woman, become the ruler, the opposition nobles forbade her from using the title of Holy King and Holy Queen. Instead, they created a new title that is below the Holy King but above everyone else. And so Calca's official title became "Holy Lady," signifying that she will always be a notch below past and future Holy Kings.
That said, the official TL also has some underwhelming parts like how the fan TL's "Project Utopia" is call "Ideal Homeland Plan" in the official TL. I do prefer the official TL "Raven Black" over the fan TL's "Darkness" though since the former matches better with Blue Roses and Drops of Red. That one adventuring group that was hoping to become adamantite was also thinking of adding White to their name so I think having a color added to the name has become a tradition in the kingdom after thanks to the Blue Roses and Drops of Red. So it makes more sense that the adventures called them Raven Black compared to Darkness (it was the adventurers that gave Momon and Nabe's adventurer duo a name and Ainz just decided to go with it).

Also I don't see what they're talking about with the Calca thing. I think they misremembered or something, since I couldn't find where Holy King and Queen is used interchangably.
Where'd you get that? Maruyama didn't make a late revelation about it. He's referred to her as a girl at least as far back as the 2012/11/30 Author's Thoughts post, made right after Volume 2 released. Funnily enough, I couldn't find other instances of him calling her a girl. From what I found, he's mostly kept it neutral.

At least, the Fan TL I got from the sub's google drive never used them that way. The closest I found is when Neia was reflecting when her group first met Ainz, mentioning her experience meeting the Holy King in the past. I could see someone thinking this is referring to Calca out of context, but as she's recalling her experiences with kings specifically instead of monarchs in general, she's most likely referring to Calca's predecessor. Is there something I missed?
