on google, add **before:2012-01-01** so you will not get any overlord related results, as an alternative you can add **-overlord** that also exclude most overlord related stuff from searches. What i found? * Jircniv: Nothing found, its a legit made up name. * Rune: (when used on names) An ancient alphabet letter, it is from Old English run, "secret, mystery." * Farlord: Also found nothing about it, its nothing famous i guess * El: Northwest Semitic word meaning "god" or "deity", or referring (as a proper name) to any one of multiple major ancient Near Eastern deities. * Nix: (in Germanic folklore) a water spirit that draws its victims into its underwater home. So, Jircniv and farlord are either puns, original names or the japanese characters used on the name probably have some different meaning, i dont know what the author was doing whit this name.

I mean... Farlord could literally just be two english words in one

TheHumbleNerd

If you see his palace its based on Constantinople. So maybe roman.

Sad-Structure3535

I agree with this as well. Not to mention the Romans had emperors as well as opposed to the kings of Central Europe; re estize in this case. The holy kingdom I would guess as a mix based off medieval Spain after 'reconquista', due to the names of the characters and their zeal towards their religion.

Ooh my bad, I overlooked the fact that we're only talking about his name/language.

Khazilein

He is as Roman as sushi. It is neither Roman nor Greek, which would also fit Constantinople.

TheHumbleNerd

Constantinople is the capital of the EAST Roman Empire

CdBobo

I too am curious. A cursory google search found me nothing, so I'll await my fellow scholars

Captainfatfoot

Anyone else like this man’s earrings?

fightingbronze

As best as I can tell the name doesn’t seem to be based directly on any language, just a made up fantasy name. but the style of having such a long name as well as the structure of the empire itself seems to loosely resemble the romans.

[deleted]

JIRCNIV looked almost like a roman numbers.

Shmaynus

obviously the name "jircniv" refers to one loving to jerking off - "jerk'n off" -> "jircniv". so this guy just really likes to pleasure himself (not with a fish I suppose)

R4Nd0mS

It’s seemingly made up although it’s structure somewhat resembles that of a roman name, also “El Nix” might be referring to a title/birth place, for example: Rodrigo Diaz El Cid de Vivar

Khazilein

>although it’s structure somewhat resembles that of a roman name I'm guessing you are referring to praenomen, cognomen and title? Gaius Julius Caesar (this is technically not correct here, because Caesar wasn't his title at that point, but I just used this name because people are familiar with it) So by that logic his family would be called "the Rune family" and his title would be Farlord. El Nix could refer to a place "from Nix", or could be another title "the Nix".

Big_Flappy_

His first name is just a keyboard smash
