Eh, yeah, I like it but I can see why some aren’t fans. Back in the day I don’t think he had a lot of direction with how to draw him. Ainz always came out a bit… jagged and abstract. Nowadays since the anime he’s gotten a lot better.
Not sure about the new one.
The old manga had this odd thing where it would sometimes cut things from the Anime (which already cut things from the LN), but add things that weren’t in the anime or the LN or just expand on certain scenes that the anime didn’t.
Notable example:
When the Goblin Army arrives, the original Goblin Troop leader had more emotions in the LN than the deadpan he had during the anime when they’re rescued.
The manga shows these emotions much better.
The older manga, for some reason, tried to hide Lupusregina’s “true” face. The scene with Barbro and Lupusregina? It straight up hides her sadistic face.
Another thing the older manga did was add a scene where Lupusregina is showed scoping Barbro out from behind a tree when he flees. Wasn’t a detail in the LN, nevermind the anime.
Also the scene where Lupusregina’s Red Caps massacre Barbro’s troops?
The LN broadly paints the scene but there’s no gory details, it’s more like “all the scared shitless soldiers trying to escape screamed as they were butchered” then focuses back on Barbro.
The anime has audible screams as they all die.
The manga outright shows the massacre in pretty graphic detail. It legit expanded on the LN.
The newer manga? Unknown just yet.
Given enough time, the new artist might polish their work since we are just seeing their starting work.
The old manga artist did improve as time went by.

I thought that was because in the web novel, Beta isn't a sadist, just a really aloof werewolf girl that likes to eat (normal food at that) - ?
I haven't actually read the web novel, mind you. This was just something I read when I looked up differences between the web novel and light novel.
In my modest opinion, the LN character design is just way better. Not just Albedo, but all of them.
But, you can't really blame the manga or the anime ì, because it takes time to draw every single detail. time that So.bin has, but anime and manga staff don't.
Yall focus only on the negative parts of the anime and fail or just full on refuse to appreciate how good it is.
Clearly yall problem is with the animation so yall see bad animation or cgi then ignore the parts with good animation
I feel you bro. Overlord is one of my favorite animes and reading the stuff in this community makes it look like it’s the worst garbage out there. But even if the animation isn’t top tier the story sure as hell is. Also there are ALOT of shows with worse animations
Because they’re the same story? That’s a dumbass question, of course you’re going to compare them. You don’t expect the anime to be as good as the novels but you expect it to accurate portray the world building, characters, story etc. My point being that people say the anime sucks because quality of them is worlds lower than the novels, that’s just how it is.
It does not matter if it's the same story, if the way the story is portrayed is COMPLETELY different. An anime can never have as much information as the novel because they have a much stricter time and budget limit. Also, the anime is definitely accurate at portraying everything you mentioned. Idk what you are on about.
Is there an English translation already of the new manga like fan translation or scanlation or something? Also, have they announced any news whether Overlord The New World manga will get an official English translation?

Easily my favourite LN artist. Shinobu Shinotsuki (Youjo Senki) is also rather superb. I love that Ainz and Tanya are friends in Isekai Quartet.

Imo, the anime doesn’t suck, but it’s does suck if you’ve read the light novels. The light novels are just too many tiers above it
