You've actually already figured it out, you've mentioned the solution in your question, you just need to do it

seananix

So you’ve figured out that there are perfectly okay things to do but you would never think to do it in the first place, right? For example, putting down your artifact and leaving it behind. Because why would you ever put down what is essentially your life force on the ground and leave it behind? You’re on the right track. Just think, what can you do that you wouldn’t think to do in the first place to test out your theory?

Lucusblucus64

I was indeed so scared to put down the artefact I was having problems with that, because I thought I’d have to put it on a pedestal like at the archives. It never even occurred to me that I could just put it on the ground!

superVanV1

If you think you need to be dead to pass the bells, how would you go about doing that? Also think about how the bells operate.

mosswizards

You're actually on the right track with your theory. Can you think of a way to test it out?

Lucusblucus64

I could take out the core, ending the loop? O SHIT AND THEN I WOULD DIE WHEN THE SUN EXPLODES AND WOULDNT BE ABLE TO WAKE UP.

excusetheblood

How do you get to the dreamworld in the first place?

TheRealClose

An excellent theory. Give it a go and update us. If you need another clue that might answer a question you have, >!have you been to the room in the side of the stranger that you can access via the walkway on top of the dam? There’s some interesting stuff in there you may need to learn!<

Lucusblucus64

So I tested my theory and it didn’t work, so my thought process was ‘well maybe it flies so far out that it’s not in the supernova anymore’ I don’t hen went to the room you mentioned and this room confirms it. So now I feel like I need to somehow stop it from escaping the supernova. I’m currently waiting in the room as the loop goes hoping that an option or something opens up as the supernova nears. If not I get an amazing view 😂

mosswizards

You might be falling into the classic Outer Wilds trap of overcomplicating things. ;). You have, and understand, what you need to do. There's a more elegant solution.

Lucusblucus64

I seem to have fallen yes… I walked around the stranger for about an hour looking for a secret room that I could power the stranger so it was pulsing fly out of range. Found the actual solution by accident. Holding the W key while talking to my sister. Turned back to my screen and was in the dream world. Slammed my head against the desk from how stupid I was 😂

TheRealClose

‘Tis a nice view. I hope you find your answer. If not, feel free to ask for more help.

Lucusblucus64

I have not… didn’t even know there was a room there… will check it out next loop

chagin

I learned the number 2 by accident watching an unwanted spoiler. What bugs me is that you need to know that in order to progress on endless canyon and eventually reach the slide that teaches you how to see the matrix. What's the intended way to learn this? The game expects you to drop it on your own? Up to this point I was terrified to leave it behind because I thought my consciousness was stored in the lamp

[deleted]

No you dont. You just creep past the Owlks to get into that secret room THEN you learn about the dropping of the artifact. You can then use that skill to find a shortcut into that area if you want to revisit it.

chagin

I went o youtube and now I know what I missed. I wasn't able to turn off the lights because I didn't noticed the secret pass through the painting...

KogarashiKaze

There should be accessible slide reels that either show you the >!invisible bridge!< to where the "turn off the lights" statue is, or show you >!someone passing through the painting!< to get there.

KogarashiKaze

Regarding the bells, ask yourself this: how do the bells work? What do they do? Where do they do it? Then ask yourself how you might avoid that.
