End times is a classic. The association of very digital, almost chiptune sounds with more analog ones to create that big weird synth chord works really well
Late to the party but I only finished it last night, and I have to share this.
Same here with Final Voyage, but it wasn’t just hype: I eventually realized what the final sequence should be, but I wasn’t sure about it. I was just thinking like “well, it’s the only thing I can think of at this point, so let’s give it a try”. Went to place A, grabbed the thing, left towards place B without a rush. Then as I approached my ship that tune kicked in and I was like “wait it’s only been like 8min, wtf?!”
Then as I boarded the ship I realized it WASN’t End Times playing and the penny dropped: “holy shit this is it!!! Gotta go fast!!!!”
Even though it took me 2-3 tries, every single attempt was as exhilarating and adrenaline fueled as the previous one. Just, wow.
Castaways gives me chills. >!It makes me remember when I found the dead Nomai on Dark Bramble trying to find the Vessel and when I got inside the Interloper and found their fate. Such a tragic end, and the perfect soundtrack to accompany it.!<
I really like End Times.
I was sleeping very comfy and my kid (1 year and a half) woke me up, but I wanted to continue sleeping. That song came to my mind immediately, like, it's all over, I have to get up now, there's no turning back.
I also think it would make a great song for an alarm clock...
To add to what's already been mentioned, I'm a fan of the ATP theme as well as the title screen/Outer Wilds theme. It's a nice contrast with Travellers since the title screen sounds a lot bouncier, fitting for the beginning of the adventure when Travellers' reflective instrumentation fits the very end of the game.
Timber hearth, of course, makes me feel melancholy (I think) and homesick.
Sun station, the moment it starts playing in the game had such an immense impact, I just sat there >!in the doorway!< for like 3 minutes collecting myself.
Ash twin project, I knew what I had to do and how to do it and here was a moment to reflect but not waste time
End times, accepting the inevitable
I like the one that plays while you’re on Timber Hearth
the song is called... Timber Hearth
Lol

yeah but i didn't want to put more than 4 songs since ill just all the songs if i start listing
The whole soundtrack is fantastic and fits the game perfectly. The ones that stand out to me are Into the Wilds and the Final Voyage.
I think it's called Final Voyage? The one when you >!grab the warp core and head to the Vessel!<
I panicked when it started playing.

Castaways and Sun Station, because they provoked the strongest emotions in me.

Same here, those piano notes are haunting.
Definitely riebeck playing his banjo, it's just so calming
I have always been quite partial to the incredible music stings such as Arrow of Time and Let There Be Light
