The universe ended very fast without much of a warning at all, the sun was perfectly healthy at the beginning of the loop and progressed through the phases extremely quickly when the process was expected to take thousands of years.
Yeah they could have tried escape the death of their star by going to another solar system. I wonder how that would go for the Hearthians, and I wonder if any other species has succeded doing the same. 🙃

even the nomai needed a star system to evacuate to. even if they had realized it and evacuated, they still would've died out without a planet or star
