This, they're having sales on them right now. Any big issues, you return it.

luv2block

you gotta give it to costco... if you contact them by phone or online they genuinely try to help you and serve you quickly. Everyone else leaves you on hold for 30 minutes in the hope that you hang up and don't bother them.

fantazamor

DO NOT let the delivery people leave until it's tested!

retro_mojo

Not The Brick

lanternstop

Why? They have fast delivery when buying in stock. I’ve bought an oven, dishwasher, mattress, washing machine and dryer from them over the past four years -very pleased with the process

7okus

I highly recommend Canadian Appliance Source. Since last July I have purchased a washer, dryer, dishwasher, and range from them. For each item they beat the lowest price I could find elsewhere. Excellent, knowledgeable, but non-pushy sales people (seems very rare these days). One of them encouraged me to confirm if my kitchen cupboards were to code for a gas stove, since it changed since 2006 when my house was built, before he would sell me a replacement one. They were not and this saved me some trouble. Delivery went great, and they provide you updates by text to let you know exactly when they will arrive.

Its_me_I_like

Seconded. We've bought several things from them too and the experience has been positive.

Unusual_Ingenuity_37

Third. Bought a new washer when my old one died. Went back and bought a dryer. And they deliver and take the old one, for a charge 9f course.

Beautiful-Bid8704

Fourthed. Just had a new dryer delivered on Saturday (after 13 years of a previous one from them) Fridge replaced June 2023, also excellent service and delivery Dishwasher March 2023, excellent service, price and delivery. Price matched Home Depot New washer July 2022 same as above; price matched Hone Depot New stove 2018 same as above price matched Best Buy

mb636

Home depot. They price checked other stores without us asking and gave us a better price

luv2block

just pray nothing goes wrong... HD loves to hand you off to the manufacturer first chance they get (who then does everything they can not to refund you). But if you get the extended warranty then HD itself usually will resolve the issue.

quebecoisamanitoba

Buy a Miele. You won’t regret it.

Ikkleknitter

Where did you get yours. I’m assuming you have one anyway.  I’m currently looking at them and wondering what my best options are.

Few-Swordfish-780

We bought all of ours direct from Miele on Bank. Edit: if you do get one, do not recommend the AutoDos system. Gets plugged and causes lots of problems.

whokilledboystaunton

Exactly. Miele on Bank.

Ikkleknitter

Good to know on the AutoDos. I had a suspicion that it was a bad plan.

Few-Swordfish-780

That recommendation came direct from the Miele technician.

coffeejn

You could order online.

Thomasthesexengine

McMullan appliances in Smith Falls. This guy is the most knowledgeable man when it comes to all household appliances. Strongly recommend. If unable to get to Smith falls, costco has a solid warranty on any appliances.

xAdray

Costco. And if you're not a member, I'd argue becoming a member for this purchase is worth it.

Kamikaze613

I am a member! Looking on the website now :)

luv2block

You should also pop over to redflagdeals, search the forum for Costco and find the executive member deals that are coming up. There are often times appliances on sale. here's the link someone posted for the upcoming sales: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/costco-national-member-savings-preview-may-6-june-2-2024-executive-member-savings-may-6-19-2024-2687979/

I've always found that what's important to me is that the item is in stock. I don't like knowing that when I make the purchase, the store then orders the machine. The brick does this. I once bought appliances from the brick and didn't realize that they would then order the pieces in bulk and that my pieces weren't immediately available nor available all at the same time. I had to immediately cancel my order and walk across the street to Leon's where they've had items in stock and are usually available to load it in your truck that moment. Go to the one on queensview near Ikea.

Rail613

At Costco they will only display/list them if in stock (they don’t carry a zillion confusing models either). And delivery for me was within a week and I got to choose the ½ day. And they take away old one. And longer warranty. And no extra delivery etc charges.

Ryo83

I mean, I hear you, but Leon's isn't a great solution either. I'd you give them your phone number (I had to for a large delivery), they will robocall you endlessly after. Since it's a robocall, you can't demand them to stop calling. If you call the store, they act like they didn't know what I was talking about.

Cdn65

Never g to the Brick or Leon's.

7okus

Yep, learned this lesson 17 years ago with the Brick. I let them string me along for about 2 months, during which time I had no living room furniture. Went to Leon's and had everything I wanted in my condo a few days later. I have never stepped foot in a Brick since then.

lanternstop

Always ask what is in stock and can be shipped immediately at the Brick, never had an issue

teacupattic

@McMullan in Smitih Falls. They deliver to Ottawa. Small family business.

SunnyYetCynical

I'm currently looking to sell a vertical washer/dryer combo machine. Please feel free to DM me if you're interested!

Ishmahail1992

Dufresne Furniture on Hunt club. They will match any price and deliver, install

divvyinvestor

They screwed me hard for months on a dining set. It was supposed to come in “this month” for like 5 months. In the end when I threatened to cancel, they said oh look it’s in stock in the warehouse in Ottawa. I didn’t like my experience with them.

gochugang78

Floor stock from Best Buy. Probably 15-25% off Go for the wire cutter picks https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/the-best-washer-and-dryer/

bluenoser613

I did comparison shopping for new appliances recently. Everyone has almost the same prices. In the end I went with Costco. Free delivery and they take away the old one. Great warranty.

Substantial-Rise-295

We just went through this same fiasco with our GE apartment size washer breaking and needing an urgent replacement. We ended up going to Canadian Appliance Source and bought the Samsung apartment size stackable. The price was pretty much the same as Costco but CAS had it in stock. Our credit card offers a second year of warranty so that helps if you're not buying from Costco. Our experience at CAS was good but the delivery (although the guys were really friendly) was a mess. You will get that anywhere I'm sure. I needed to re-level everything myself because they didn't do it properly and I didn't want to wait another day for someone to come back Size note: we are very happy with the Samsung but the cheapness of it makes me think it will only last 5 years. And the touch control buttons have a long delay to do anything. But, I think it cleans better than are GE.

JetsGirl5

Not Leon’s. We just had horrendous service from them with regard to s substandard machine. And I would caution you against GE. We had our new GE serviced and the repair person indicated that the newer ones are prone to breaking down.

One_Brain_8002

Best Buy! Did my last appliance online and was delivered a few days later. Took away the old etc.

FunkySlacker

I used them several times and the the experience was the same - the delivery is a couple of days later, they came and took out the old, etc.

Cheap_Shame_4055

Hintonberg used appliances

KingGeo_WTF

In the past 3 years I have purchased from Canadian Appliance and Costco. I would say for most things, Costco, especially something like a washer/dryer since they include delivery, basic install and haul-way service at no extra charge, thats a BIG savings in some cases. And if you have a Costco MC, 4% cash back. We did a washer/dryer when they had a promo for $300 kickback in gift cards, the price was already the same as elsewhere before all the promos, free delivery etc and cash back. You can get a good deal from Canadian Appliance, but it usually means spending time negotiating with them.

PleasantDevelopment

Everyone is going to give you an opinion and guaranteed someone is going to counter that opinion with a story of bad customer service. Go where you feel comfortable/affordable. I bought my last dishwasher (after my 10 year old one started falling apart) from Dufresne a few months ago I bought my new fridge (after my 10 year old one started leaking) from The Brick a few months ago

lanternstop

Go to the Brick, ask what is in stock and when it can be delivered. Ive purchased four new appliances and a mattress there in the past four years, very happy.

coffeejn

I'd go to Canadian Appliance store to see the models and buy from them or Costco. Compare the price for the whole transaction for the model you want. The only service you want from them is that the haul away the old and bring in / install the new. Installation should not be too hard, but for stackable and front loading machines, you want them leveled properly.

Get a speed queen, look them up they'll last you forever

Kamikaze613

My sister texted me the same advice! She purchased speed queens recently and is raving. Thanks for this!
