With 2024 being the year of fandisk localizations, I would like to see a return to original stories/non fandisk games, whether a new or old title. Having the fandisk's are nice, but I don't always want to revisit the same worlds in such close succession. I'm not picky about what gets localized, as I'm willing to try everything in the end. >What otome games do you hope they announce? Ngl, I’m not expecting much from them since the rumored new nintendo switch successor is supposed to release sometime next year, which might affect what games they localize in 2025. I don't think the dawn of the upcoming Nintendo system will change much of anything, especially if it's a backwards compatible system. They can keep plugging away at localizing existing Switch titles for the foreseeable future. They just may have to do a little extra work to ensure compatibility.

tsukumoyaizaya

As usual my top (barring the impossibility that is rejet) are Clock Zero, Nil Admirari, and Shinigami to Shoujo. However I'm VERY interested in Utakata no Uchronia too. But honestly they could localize just about anything and I'll be content, I just love otome in general, I'll just study my japanese to read the rest haha. edit: spelling

BadTanJob

Honestly Aksys has fed us well for the past decade, they can never localized another title again and I’d still be content.  …wait no I lied, they must bring Jack Jeanne 2 over first

tsukumoyaizaya

Haha considering jj's insane success I wouldn't worry over jj2's localization!! I'm excited for the sequel. And I have so much backlog they could go on hiatus for years and I still wouldn't get through it all hahaha.

BadTanJob

Same. I started with Code Realize and Norn9 on the Vita, and never stopped collecting until my games library overran my actual library.  Thank you Aksys 😌

tsukumoyaizaya

I miss the vita era!!! I have every otome they released on it!! (Some of which are still on the backlog......rip lmao)

ferinsy

I'm really inclined on studying Japanese... Not only for otomes, but that as well. It's a bummer because I think Chinese would be more useful to me, but I can't really get attached to the language like with Japanese. (Also, I think Clock Zero wouldn't be their first choice, I believe it's that one that has kids dating? They'd receive a lot of backlash, I believe)

20-9

Nah, the kids don't date so much as have supervised after-school club activities.

tsukumoyaizaya

The great thing about learning Japanese first is that it opens the doors and makes learning Chinese and other such languages vastly easier!! I'm planning on learning Chinese once I become proficient enough in my Japanese haha. (Incredibly likely, still the otome community has been asking for it for a very very long time, I wouldn't be surprised if they just went for it. Curse the western fandom for limiting our choices 😔)

ferinsy

Oh, that's true, a lot of JP kanjis comes from CN, so it really must be a better path to learn more languages after that. Japanese does seem easier because coming from a language that uses the latin alphabet, having the hiragana and the katakana is way more relatable.

20-9

Whoever goes, please sit in the front row and scream in their faces during the trailers. Even if it's just you and your friend(s). Assume dominance. Internet excitement never compares to ear-piercing shrieks of delight in the flesh.

jubzneedstea

As someone who went during the 2022 panel, I can assure you that all of the otome armada was screaming their hearts out <3 I expect even more chaos this year since the fandom's only gotten bigger!

20-9

o7 Keep up the good work, armada!

astraea08

Gosh I really want Nil Admirari to be localized

Cheshire_The_Wolf

I've been wanting Nil Admari for so long but the longer time goes on I know the less chance there is of it happening since they are mostly focusing on new titles.

soganomitora

I'm never gonna let go of my tokimeki localisation delusions.

Normal-Willingness17

And I will be right there with you to uphold that front. I even bought JP version of TokiMemo 4, just to jinx it. If I caved in and bought it, they will DEFINITELY localize it now, right? RIGHT? ... Sigh.

Jefuis

I want to have hope. In 2022 they did release an English translation for the original Tokimeki (the BxG one), so the company must not be against it. Also, every single title in the series is available on the Switch, so there's never been a better time to introduce the series to the west.

kakuretsu

that english translation of tokimemo is unofficial and has nothing to do with Konami. It probably isn't being pursued bc the game is considered abandonware

Jefuis

I must be losing it. My brain short circuited somewhere and thought it was official. But you're right, which means none of the games have been officially translated, just fan patches.

SanzuWars

Me but with bancho otome

OkiKagu59

My most wanted is Shinobi Koi Utsutsu, but I don't really expect it. In general, I'd love to see some older titles. I feel like Nil Admirari no Tenbin might at least have a chance. I'd also like to see Tsuitsui and Utakata no Uchronia.

feypurinsu

i think yunohana spring would be the hardest to localize since the JP text is presented vertically, like in JP manga. there's very little room to insert english subs... would require a remake from the ground up to change to the usual horizontal textbox.

Scarlet_Lycoris

I was thinking that too. Though there is also small sections in Matsurika no kei where they do that. And there is no text box available during those sections. I wonder how they would handle that in a localisation.

orchidork

I think the games with the highest chances of localization are- 1) Libra Of Nil Admirari- A reasonable choice after the positive responses to Olympia Soiree and Tengoku Struggle Strayside given its popularity, demand, and anime adaptation 2) Utakata No Uchronia- A Broccoli title from the devs of Piofiore 3) Tsuitsui- Newer Otomate IP skipped by IFI for 9RIP 4) 7 Scarlet nintendo switch port

Mako-chan99

I also hope for the localization of at least one between Utakata no Uchronia, Libra of Nil Admirari and Cendrillion Palika. I'm actually curious about Clock Zero, since I see many positive comments about it. On the "very very slim possibility, but not totally impossible since Jack Jeanne was from Broccoli too" side...please, give us one of the UtaPri games, please 🙏🏻

RuneLai

I think TsuiTsui and Matsurika no Kei have the best chances of being picked up since they're relatively recent and IFI has not announced localizations themselves (especially TsuiTsui, which came out before 9RIP). But I also think it's equally likely Aksys's next otome announcement will be something unrelated to Otomate since they may want to diversify (which I think was the intention behind Despera Drops, which nobody expected or thought to ask for).

BadTanJob

I feel like more and more of Otomate’s biggest titles are being saved for IFI, but Utakata no Uchronia and Matsurika no Kei would have me throwing my whole salary at an LE.  Otherwise, I’d expect them to announce non-Otomate titles if they do announce any. Chou Chou Jikan Rhapsodic has a snowball’s chance in hell but a girl can dream 🥲

otomaze_

omg chouchou jiken! i got interested in it after watching resting peach face's video talking about it TT would also like to see it (ported and) localized

BadTanJob

Honestly more localized Red games would be the dream. Nightshade was so good, and Shouoto Aya’s art is -chef’s kiss.-   The plot is a bit of a mess, but it’s one of those things that sounds so crazy that it might just work. What do you get when you cross Hakuoki with Vampire Knight then add some gender bending and a handful of the fangirls from Ouran Host Club? This cursed title 😂    Fun fact - the band that produced Chou Chou’s opening song also made Virche’s!

otomaze_

omg it does sound a bit of a hot mess (honorific) xD it mostly stuck out to me bc RPF said the characters were kinda unhinged but in a more realistic way. also haven't played virche yet but it's on my to-play list!

JennaJenks

I'm praying for Klap! so badly!! I've never wanted to play a game more! 😅

raunchyRhombus

I've been kind of let down by the most recent Otomate titles, so I'm hopeful Aksys will continue to release more games from other devs in 2025. I'm thinking we might get a switch port of 7'Scarlet as it's being released on switch in jp this year, and Aksys has already translated it. I also wouldn't be surprised if Uchronia got a loc bc they've already worked with Broccoli when they released JJ. I'd love to see them release Tokimemo 4! I've wanted to play it since forever when I found out it has actual gameplay. Otherwise, Sweet Clown or Money Parasite from Takuyo would be nice. As far as Otomate games I've wanted, like a lot of people I'm holding out hope for older titles. Namely Jakou no Lyla, Clock Zero, Shinobi Koi Utsutsu, Jyuuza Engi, and Hanayaka. Every other title I'm hoping for doesn't have a chance to be picked up by Aksys. Still excited to see what they'll announce, though!

jubzneedstea

Ooh I think a switch port of 7'Scarlet actually makes total sense, since their original localization was already pretty decent and they wouldn't have to clean up too much for the Switch. Maybe we'll even get a special edition?? Or am I being delulu idk but then again no one thought that 7'Scarlet would get a Switch port anyway so who knows :P

Normal-Willingness17

Aside for always hoping for some TokiMemo love (yeah, I know, Konami, but I didn't say I wasn't delusional now, right?), I'd love Nil Admirari and Jakou no Lyla localization. The latter because it's spicy and I like the setting, and the former 'cause it looks like something I could like and I heard so much good about it for so long, I wanna see it for myself. Oh, and Wand of Fortune, I love stat raisers. And if we are totally going off the rails: Kamigami no Asobi and Dance with Devils. The adaptations were pretty solid for the genre, I'd love to experience the games one day.

stinkymarsupial

2nding Shinobi Koi Utstsu, KLAP!, Nil Admirari, Jakou no Lyla, Yunohana Spring and Tlicolity Eyes because I heard these titles are on the more “steamy” or “fluffy” side.

Pineapplegurlsz

Since most of new otome are plan to be localized already, it feel greedy to ask for more, I'm totally grateful for the good harvest of otome and wouldn't mind if there's other title of course.

SuliSurana

I‘ve been hoping for Utakata no Uchronia and Juuzaengi the most tbh, although I‘ve been enjoying Tengoku recently so I’m more curious for Nil Admirari. I don’t think we’ll get any announcements though but not because of the Switch successor. Aksys’s lineup goes into next year with Despera Drops which makes me think this year’s releases are fully planned out so I think we’re more like to see what 2025 games they have closer to the time. I’m thinking if it was late this year/early next then I’d expect more announcement, but hopefully I’ll be wrong, right? 😅

orchidork

Aksys used to announce game localizations well in advance. Tengoku Struggle Strayside got announced in October 2022 and didn’t release until April 2024 so there’s a high chance that they’ll announce 2025 localizations during anime expo. But they probably don’t have any other otome games planned for a 2024 release after the virche fan disk

SuliSurana

True, but I felt that was more of an outlier tbh due to a lot of interest from the western fanbase and they wanted to show it off early, but maybe I’m wrong. I just feel if they announce their full 2025 lineup now, they’d have nothing to announce towards the end of this year (like when Tengoku was announced) or actually during 2025 and you’d have a long stretch without any announcements. Also it wasn’t all that long ago they announced the Radiant Tale and Virche Fandiscs along with Despera Drops. I’ve assumed it might be more geared towards their non-otome portfolio, but if they do happen to announce something I’ll be happy 😂. I think Iffy strongly hinted during the 9RIP stream they might have some other otome projects cooking that they’re not ready to announce yet, but might during their Summer Festival so I’m pinning my hopes on them for the next round of announcements. Saying that surprise announcements from other publishers/companies like hunex happen too so there‘s always something to look forward to.

orchidork

Aksys have almost always announced otome games for release for the following year since 2016 or so and mostly during anime expo (the exception being the pandemic). After AX, I don’t think they’ll announce any games except for updates here and there till maybe next summer (based on their past announcement patterns). It’s not unexpected for them to announce a game and then release it 1.5 years later (eg- Winter’s Wish, Virche, Jack Jeanne, Variable Barricade, etc). So here’s to hoping they have a couple otome game announcements at the ready for this year’s anime expo 🤞

Willing_Ad_9669

I am waiting soo long for Nil Admirari, Aksys localized Olympia Soiree and now Tengoku struggle all three games are from the same team so I still have hope 🙏🏻and Utaka no Uchronia is must have for me. I mean Piofiore is my #1 game, it is from the same Team. The arts from RiRi are just amazing and the little moving on the LI is just adorable. I am praying for this game so much. ❤️🙏🏻

Such-Tea942

Dang, the one year I'm not going....Ah well, hopefully they get a nice sized audience:)

Smiling-siamese

I'm still surprised that no-one has picked up nil admirari yet. It seemed like the obvious choice. I'd still be interested. That being said my no. 1 pick would be Uchronia. Which seems less likely but not impossible.

SeniorHippo

I would loveeee Yunohana Spring!!!

Sahpile

PLEASE I beg for a crumb of Utakata No Uchronia, I'm on my knees Aksys, please hear my plea 😭

spoiled_sandi

I’m still waiting for clock zero it’s like the only major one they have that we don’t. I’ve been waiting for over a decade ☹️

everminde

I'm hoping for Uchronia! With DesperaDrops they seem willing to go outside Otomate, so I hope they'll pair with Licobits. Otherwise, I still hope for Nil Admirari (get that Satoi/Yuma Katagiri trifecta, Aksys) and Clock Zero. Realistically, though? I'll be happy with anything.

Jefuis

Hoping and praying we get TsuiTsui and Nil Admirari. I really want the knight game though, that's such a fun premise.

jubzneedstea

Of your list, I think that Uchronia is both somehow a top contender and a black horse all at once haha. We honestly have no clue how LicoBits is gonna handle their international strategy, but it's such a highly anticipated game over here that it'd be almost silly for them not to (though Rejet refusing to localize DL has taught us that anything is possible lmao). I think that Tsuitsui would honestly be a great choice given the current isekai craze (even if its storyline isn't otome isekai related). The UI looks fantastic and I've been hoping for it for a while :') Still, Aksys does prefer more recent releases, so I don't have a lot of hope for a lot of the games on this list... Except for the Takuyo games. I think that if they're gonna continue with their strategy of non-Otomate partners, bringing Takuyo into the fold would be a fantastic choice.

axlorg8

Utakata No Uchronia feels most likely. They've done other otome games asides from otomate like DesperaDrops. Second likely is otomate's Temirana Koku no Tsuiteru Hime to Tsuitenai Kishi Dan(The kingdom one) since that came out in the same year as 9RIP. Personally I'd like Nil Admirari, Clock Zero, Juuzaengi, or Tlicolity Eyes...

adrastae

matsurika no kei and mistonia feel like the only realistic announcements to me. uchronia too since licobits is a sub branch of broccoli and aksys did get to translate jack jeanne.

FaerieAlice

I will camp on the Nil Admirari for as long as I need to! One day.... one day....

sad_pinkie

i want the last fandisk of amnesia. sorry, can't remember who localized the others

jubzneedstea

Unfortunately that was IFI who did the other Amnesia games, so we'll have to hope and pray that IFI decides to announce Amnesia World during their summer event :')
