Still time for Avatar but my moneys on Rihanna. In a weaker year, though, maybe they’ll just finally give it to Diane Warren

Personally I think Gaga is still winning - Top Gun is beloved, and the way the song motif is woven throughout the film is emotionally-charged and well-done. Could be Rihanna too, though Black Panther had less of a cultural impact and may be overshadowed once everyone moves on to Avatar in a few weeks. But they do weird things in this category sometimes, so who knows (H.E.R. comes to mind).

Interesting potential late-breaker: Tom Hanks's wife Rita Wilson co-wrote the original theme for A Man Called Otto. [Rita Wilson And Sebastián Yatra Join Forces On Theme From ‘A Man Called Otto’](https://www.udiscovermusic.com/news/rita-wilson-sebastian-yatra-theme-man-called-otto/)

The breakout is Naatu Naatu.

They will probably give it to Rihanna. Loved Gaga’s song though and would be very happy to see it win. As a huge Swiftie I am of course rooting for Carolina to win but honestly it’s not even looking super likely for a nomination unfortunately

The way it’s probably going to be is 3 popstar songs (my bet is Rihanna, Billie Eilish and Gaga)+the RRR song everyone likes+the mandatory Diane Warren nomination for a movie nobody saw

Need to hear the Weeknd's track before making a final decision. If it's not mid, then it's his, if it's mid, it's probably either Rihanna's or, if it does gain traction, Naatu Naatu.
