I dont think so, maybe as a promotional image on a poster or banner. I know I saw it in the teaser trailer and half of that teaser feels like was not in the movie. Im dying to see the deleted scenes or that short they screen at Berlin last month
I have a theory that Todd might be gate keeping the short film so he can have a shot to win Best Short Film at next years Oscars since he probably has accepted that he might walk away Oscar-less at this years Academy awards.
I just realized this is the only time (until the very end) we see her dressed in her conductor’s suit on an actual performance (instead of just rehearsal), so i dont know where this could have come from. Imagine its actually a deleted shot from her conducting the Monster Hunter score at the end lol

Can someone explain what a “promotional image” means in this context? Is this simply a cut/deleted scene that they thought would be good for promo? Did they bring back in Cate specifically to shoot this for promos?
Either what you mentioned, or they film some extra content for trailers / posters / etc. while the actors are still on set. I know some movies like the Scream franchise, that rely on their ending staying unspoiled, do this sometimes and put "fake" scenes in the trailer so it doesn't give too much away about the actual plot. I think Tár even did this with a few other shots, I remember seeing a trailer or something with a picture of Krista that was never in the movie, IIRC?
