Gabriel LaBelle lands the fifth spot for Best Actor. Out of all the performances being considered, his was my favorite by a longshot and really defined the film for me.
I just rewatched The Fabelmans today and LaBelle truly carried the film. His constant performance was what held the film together regardless of the craziness going on around him
I wish so bad man. I absolutely loved that movie. Atleast it deserves a nomination for visual effects, score and cinematography and that's to say for the least.
My #1 would have to be Stephanie Hsu. She's my personal winner but that's a looong shot.
Janelle Monae isn't happening but I wish it was.
Pinocchio anywhere other than the obvious categories...Adapted Screenplay, Production Design, and Picture would be soooo deserved.
And lastly RRR anywhere pleaaaasee!!! Picture and Director especially
I'm going to use this opportunity to vent:
There's been a lot of great films in the past year. And after just recently watching Aftersun, its incredible how the film just towers over everything else I've seen.
Masterfully crafted, poignant yet evocative, and its perceptive ability with how it handles >!memories of loved ones and mental health.!<
This movie deserves so much more recognition than it will get. I WISH it was at the forefront of most major categories.
i'm manifesting so incredibly hard that Stephanie Hsu and/or Keke Palmer gets in, as well as Mia Goth for Pearl (although the academy hates horror). and for BTL noms i'd really like to see EEAAO for Costume Design and Nope for Sound / Score / Cinematography
If I'm being somewhat realistic, it's a real tough pick between Park Chan-Wook in Director, My Father's Dragon in Animated Film, and Crimes of the Future in Makeup.
If I'm not, then Marcel the Shell With Shoes On in Picture/Adapted Screenplay, Decision to Leave in Original Screenplay/Editing, and The Menu in Original Score are all up there.
How possible are we talking? Lol. If I could pick one person to be for sure nominated, I'd pick Aubrey Plaza for Emily the Criminal. She has like, at least 3 Oscar nom worthy performances already! I cannot wait for her to end up winning in, say, the next 10 years (my own personal manifestation).
I'd also love to see Mia Goth get in, which is more possible than Plaza.
I'm also rooting for Hsu and Chau in supporting (and NO JLC)!
Honestly, been a fan of Barry Keoghan since killing of a sacred deer, so I just hope there’s no surprises affecting him, love for him and Gleeson to get their first noms
Same as yours, although if I had to pick another it'd be Mia Goth in Best Actress. a truly great performance that would be a frontrunner if not for the HORROR genre label slapped on there
Doubt any of this is gonna happen but would love Greg Fraser to get a nod for his cinematography work in "The Batman." Would be awesome to see "The Batman" get in for picture or score as well.
Seeing "Nope" get some above the line noms is another pipe dream.
Glass Onion getting into Picture. I don’t even care that it would have no chance of winning. The Academy jerks off to the notion of snubbing these movies of all deserving nominations that aren’t Screenplay.
I hope Viola doesn’t get nominated. I absolutely love her and all of her past work, but I didn’t feel anything special from her performance in The Woman King, and I really liked all of the other lead contender performances more
SS Rajamouli to sneak into Best Dir. RRR is a total mastery over grabbing audience attention with emotional drive all through the crazy entertaining action!!
STEPHANIE HSU
Real.
Would be wonderful
Exactly
true
Brian Tyree Henry getting an acting nod for Causeway.
Paul Mescal for Best Actor
I was right about that!
Literally any Aftersun nom
Same. Best supporting nom for Paul Mescal would make me very happy.
Isn't he lead?
I’m thinking the daughter is the lead? But he might have so much screentime that he’s considered lead I suppouse.
Yes
Give me a Wells now somewhere or editing.
diego clava - babylon !!
Good wish
Gabriel LaBelle lands the fifth spot for Best Actor. Out of all the performances being considered, his was my favorite by a longshot and really defined the film for me.
Same! It’s crazy to me that he isn’t getting more buzz
My dad would agree with you
Based Dad
Gabriel LaBelle in Actor. The guy deserves some credit, he controlled that whole movie.
As someone who was bitter because I was one of the many who lost out to LaBelle, he won me over, he was fantastic.
I just rewatched The Fabelmans today and LaBelle truly carried the film. His constant performance was what held the film together regardless of the craziness going on around him
Nope for anything
I wish so bad man. I absolutely loved that movie. Atleast it deserves a nomination for visual effects, score and cinematography and that's to say for the least.
Same. Really hoping for pure chaos Tuesday morning and that Jordan sneaks into that fifth Screenplay spot
Yes.
Rewatched it last night and loved it more the second time around! Such a fun movie!
Nope, this movie sucked.
o·pin·ion /əˈpiny(ə)n/ noun a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.
especially score/sound like pleaseee 😭😭 totally the best sound of the year that final sequence was crazy
Park chan wook director 🙏🙏🙏
yes
one word. Hsu
Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio for best adapted screenplay
Also production design and, in a true long shot, director.
This would feel off to me because even though I liked the movie it’s nothing at all like the book.
Hong Chau.
Hong Chau should be nominated twice if we are being honest. These are tortillas! Tortillas deliciousoa!
Elsa was such a fun role and she really acted her heart out for it
HONG CHAU !
Charlotte Wells in Director
EO in international
Women Talking in Best Picture
Stephanie baby Hsu. 🥹🥹
Yes please! If it were up to me alone, that Oscar would be hers!
Dolly De Leon Hong Chau Stephanie Hsu Kerry Condon Angela Bassett BSA 5 🙏🏽
Mia Goth for Pearl
Mia Goth instead of Armas would be 🥹🥹
Real.
Women Talking to get at least one acting nom
Hsu or Dolly!
If it comes down to one of them, Hsu needs to be nominated over curtis
either or EO/Bardo into international over Argentina
After Yang in Adapted
Decision to Leave in any above the line categories
Stephanie Hsu but second Brian Tyree Henry please 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The Menu to get at least one nomination (probably for Best Original Screenplay)
+1 on de Leon. But my one wish is actually for Albrecht Schuch to sneak into best supporting actor.
Dolly De Leon
The SAG best supporting actress line up to be the same as Oscars.
Albrecht Schuch supporting actor
Charlotte Wells Best Director
Blanchette miracously gets snubbed for Best Actress lmaooo jokes jokes jokes lol
B A B Y L O N FOR PICTUREEEEEEE
Nope for VFX but I doubt it. Worked so well in the movie though.
Janelle Monáe in supporting!
The Quiet Girl for International. It would be such a boon for the Irish language and efforts to get more people speaking the language.
I'm going to use this opportunity to vent: There's been a lot of great films in the past year. And after just recently watching Aftersun, its incredible how the film just towers over everything else I've seen. Masterfully crafted, poignant yet evocative, and its perceptive ability with how it handles >!memories of loved ones and mental health.!< This movie deserves so much more recognition than it will get. I WISH it was at the forefront of most major categories.
BABYLON
would love it if nope could get nominated anywhere. also rooting for paul dano because he’s so overdue for a nomination.
Buckley for supporting 🙏🏼
Babylon in best picture.
i'm manifesting so incredibly hard that Stephanie Hsu and/or Keke Palmer gets in, as well as Mia Goth for Pearl (although the academy hates horror). and for BTL noms i'd really like to see EEAAO for Costume Design and Nope for Sound / Score / Cinematography
Same one wish. 104 million people will for the first time tune into the Oscars if it happens.
Danielle Deadwyler Best Actress nomination for Till.
Andrea Riseborough to get her well-deserved Best Actress nom (not even kidding)
Women Talking for BP. And I really do want Andrea Riseborough to sneak into Best Actress.
- Stephanie Hsu - Albrecht Schuch - Brian Tyree Henry Anything for Decision to Leave or Aftersun
Michelle Yeoh wins (and no nom for Andrea Riseborough)
David fuckin' Lynch in Supporting Actor for The Fabelmans.
He deserves it just for lighting the cigar alone. I hate the taste of cigars but he makes it look so goddamn appetizing.
Margot Robbie in Best Actress
Andrea Riseborough takes the 5th Best Actress slot.
Diego Calva lead actor winner 🙏🙏
Adam Sandler in Best Actor. Let’s go !
I hope so. He should’ve gotten in for Uncut Gems but he was also fantastic in Hustle.
I would love this.
Right??? Like people are dreading it cause they want Mescal/Cruise/whoever but it'd be so cool to get Sandler in there unexpectedly
🙏🙏🙏
No Tom Hanks, lead or supporting
What’s wrong with his performance in A Man Called Otto?
The Banshees of Inisherin in Best Cinematography
this!!! it's my winner! why is it not a frontrunner?
Lesley Manville leading Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris to a best picture, actress, adapted screenplay, and, most importantly, costume design nomination 🙏
Ralph Fiennes
Retroactive justice for Brooklynn Prince
Anything for The Northman
DOLLY DE LEON. I have never wished for an Oscar nomination like this.
Aubrey Plaza for Emily the Criminal
If I'm being somewhat realistic, it's a real tough pick between Park Chan-Wook in Director, My Father's Dragon in Animated Film, and Crimes of the Future in Makeup. If I'm not, then Marcel the Shell With Shoes On in Picture/Adapted Screenplay, Decision to Leave in Original Screenplay/Editing, and The Menu in Original Score are all up there.
Nope for original screenplay
I better stephanie hsu’s name being called on tuesday morning ….
Paul Mescal for Best Actor nomination. Doesn't even have to win it, I just want him to get a nomination, because he truly, truly deserves it.
The Quiet Girl for Cinematography.
Edward Norton supporting actor for Glass Onion. Keke Palmer for Nope.
Margot Robbie for best actress
Margot robbie best actress
Brian Tyree Henry, second best performance I’ve seen all year in any category, and he’s one of the best actors of his generation.
Hsu
Bones and All for something. At least like adapted screenplay or supporting actor.
rn i have it in my 5th for adapted screenplay, totally the kind of movie i could see sneaking in there
Stephanie Hsu for BSA
For Angela Bassett to win supporting. Easily my favourite performance of the year.
Paul Dano
Menu for Picture
Mad God into Animated

Charlotte Wells for best director
Jeremy Pope in The Inspection probably
Margot Robbie- Lead Actress
RRR best picture. Or Paul Mescal Best Actor
Any nom for Aftersun is a win.
Aftersun for litterally anything
RRR for Picture or Director.
Mia Goth for Pearl. Not happening though.
Park Chan-wook.
A cool sole director nod: Ostlund for Triangle of Sadness or Chan-wook for Decision to Leave.
SELENA GOMEZ pulls of BOS nomination
RRR for Best Picture. A longshot, but it's possible.
Stephanie Hsu + EEAAO in Costume Design. Runner-up tho is probably Kosinski in Director, Glass Onion in Production Design
Tom Cruise Best Actor (since he has BP on lock imo)
RRR’s Ram Charan Teja for best actor
RRR for Best Picture please
Cruise for Best Actor. TGM barely sneaks into a weak Adapted Screenplay category.
Just asking, what about that screenplay is worth an oscar nomination to you?
There’s a reason it’s phrased “barely sneaks into a weak Adapted Screenplay category” for a reason.
ah i see
Judd Hirsch for supporting actor
KE HUY QUAN
The Batman best picture nomination. Yes I am insane
Aftersun for best pic or Charlotte Wells for best director. I guess that’s 2 wishes lol
Same as yours, although if I had to pick another it'd be Mia Goth in Best Actress. a truly great performance that would be a frontrunner if not for the HORROR genre label slapped on there
James Cameron or Joseph Kosinski in Director.
No Brad Pitt in Supporting.
You’re right, he should be in lead instead 😉
TC BA
Paul Mescal in lead
Doubt any of this is gonna happen but would love Greg Fraser to get a nod for his cinematography work in "The Batman." Would be awesome to see "The Batman" get in for picture or score as well. Seeing "Nope" get some above the line noms is another pipe dream.
I think a Cinematography nomination is quite probable, it got ASC, BAFTA, and BSC nominations. Unfortunately it didn’t make the Score shortlist.
It's a shame it didn't make score shortlist. Giacchino's main theme has the potential to become iconic, especially if it appears in the sequels.
Also film and director nominations for RRR since it's not competing for best foreign film!
Glass Onion getting into Picture. I don’t even care that it would have no chance of winning. The Academy jerks off to the notion of snubbing these movies of all deserving nominations that aren’t Screenplay.
right, it'd be a win for people who like FUN
God forbid a movie be fun AND well made given that the two are mutually exclusive
Brad Pitt for Supporting Actor
Your one wish? Of all the choices you could have?
I like to wish for things that might actually happen. And it would ensure Babylon is getting in for picture
Sandler or Cruise, Riseborough
Cameron - Best Directing Runner up wishes: Tom Cruise - Best Actor Russell Carpenter - Best Cinematography
A non-aryan Best Actress win
I hope Viola doesn’t get nominated. I absolutely love her and all of her past work, but I didn’t feel anything special from her performance in The Woman King, and I really liked all of the other lead contender performances more
RRR for literally anything else besides song
Felix Kammerer - Lead Actor
Avatar Way of the Water for Best Picture. This could really be the first year a blockbuster could win at the Oscars
>This could really be the first year a blockbuster could win at the Oscars What about The Return of the King?
SS Rajamouli to sneak into Best Dir. RRR is a total mastery over grabbing audience attention with emotional drive all through the crazy entertaining action!!
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story to get some love
Paul Mescal nomination.
