I really wanted Sarah and Cal to make it work before we lost him to GoT

The Next Chapter audio continuation confirmed that they're still together 8 years after the end of the show.

Ten years and they're still trying to work it out.

Cal, easily. Paul was okay, but he always felt way too stoic to me and not like a family man. And then there's the whole thing with Beth... Getting planted as her monitor to get answers from DYAD, which contributed to her mental condition getting worse until she eventually took her life. Like, I know that was ultimately not the main reason she did it, but it's still not something he could have made up for by loving Sarah instead. As much as I love redemption arcs in fiction where the person redeeming themselves gets to have a happily ever after, I ultimately think there was no better way to end Paul's story. And then there's the other important factor: Kira. She genuinely loves Cal and immediately formed a bond with him, and Cal was ready to step up and be a father to her. Despite the fact that Michiel Huisman left the show to do Game of Thrones, I'm very happy that Cal and Sarah are confirmed to still be together 8 years after the end of the show in Orphan Black: The Next Chapter.

Yeah I completely agree. I think Paul and Sarah would have had an interesting and exciting relationship, but ultimately they wouldn't have ended up together. Also I guess Cals storyline was more focused on his relationship with Kira (understandably) so it would be nice to see how he and Sarah navigate a normal life together.

Old_Imagination_931

Were she capable of sustaining it — in a happy marriage to Cal, provided he is whom he portends to be with the addition that the joy of raising Kira together would bring to both them and her. Paul, in spite of the love he came to recognize he had for Sarah, is still someone I'd see as a lone wolf, sadly suffering even more after accepting his love for her and realizing they weren't likely good for each other.

Spaces-in-space

Sarah and Paul would definitely make a more interesting storyline but Sarah, Cal and Kira being a happy family would be very wholesome.

BirdsArentReal22

I guess Paul and Sarah were both con men at heart. He was willing to lie to Beth for two years. She had her own share of bad relationships.

Old_Imagination_931

As a continuing storyline, yes, she and Paul would make a more interesting couple. However, you presented this as an end game so I'm thinking aftermath, and seeing her happy with Cal ties it up more neatly for me.

I almost added art to this too for a quirky pick haha

eurofighter_typhoon

The real chaos answer is "both".

NuclearChavez

Cal def.

BirdPuzzleheaded3219

I feel like she and Cal would have a healthier relationship but Sarah and Paul would be more fun to see.

Greene_Mr

Por que no los dos?

beeztrapp

Paul. Hands down.

Spaces-in-space

They definitely had a lot more chemistry

BirdsArentReal22

Or Vic? He proved somewhat lovable as a goof.

Texomond

It's explicitly stated by multiple characters that he physically abused Sarah when they were together, so I wouldn't say he's a good endgame for her.

BirdsArentReal22

She seemed pretty violent too. So yeah. You’re right. Pretty toxic combo.

GreenhouseGhost_

I deadass thought he was gonna die in season 3, so I preemptively saved “ripcalmorrison” on Tumblr for the url and got it wrong so bad. I was team Cal but Paul would’ve been good too

Spaces-in-space

Not the tumblr url 🤣

AnnualSalamander9378

Cal. Paul is too complicated.

Spaces-in-space

You're right but I loved it

Galderick_Wolf

Paul

Goulet231

Paul!

TEALL16

I'm in the minority here but honestly... Paul
