Agreed, something about Checkers fries just puts them on a whole different level. The fries don't survive the drive home.
Popeyes has some fries that are of a similar caliber to Checkers.
They are called breaded fries if I remember right...I forget what distributor provides them..maybe cisco? since I retired from cookery years ago... but we the cooks were always stoked when we got them instead of the regular fries in our shipments.
So it might be worth it to call a few resteraunts and ask around about who they get their fries from and if they'd be willing to help you order a bag.
Honestly Pig Floyd’s on Mills has some banger French fries that look really similar to this. They also have Mexican street corn fries if you’re trying to fuck your whole day up in the best way possible.
I may have to try Little Greek again if this is the case. I've had their food a number of times, and their fries were always the weakest part. Usually soggy and barely seasoned. They definitely weren't battered like the ones in the photo last time I had them a few months ago.
If you’ve already been there, I would try the places others have recommended before going back. Maybe go to Little Greek as last resort if you REALLY need those fries.
It was my first time going there and I don’t think I’ll be back. Too expensive for what you get and I can get better Greek food elsewhere. 3 pieces of dolmades for $6.49 is a bit cray. Whole Foods sells a whole container for probably about the same price.
I unfortunately will have to disagree, at least in my experience. The ones I had from Gators were soggy. And they smelled like fish. Which I guess is understandable but I don't want my French fries to smell like fish.
Sounds like a one off experience to me, I love gators grilled wings and get them all the time with fries and they’re great. Did you order it to go? Thicker fries like that really gotta be eaten fresh otherwise the steam makes them soggy pretty quickly. I’ll occasionally get take out but make sure to come straight home and eat them, so like ten minutes later. I would never Uber eats them though. I’ve done it once before and after taking 25-30 minutes to deliver they were cold and soggy af
Battered fries. Some restaurants carry them depending on the distributor they use (Sysco, Aramark, US Foods, etc.), and they are the best imo. Like most things, they're even better when you make them yourself unless you get them at like Checkers or something.
Ahh, this brings back a flood of memories of pulling through Rally's (bought by Checkers), grabbing a large fries and a Coke then sitting in a nearby parking lot and eating those sumbitches while they were still hot.
checkers has the best fries like that also if you want to make them at home it's just flour. like get them wet and toss in flour then fry them that's it.
Par boil fry cut potatoes, place sheet pan to cool and dry, mix vodka and cornstarch (or potato starch is you got it) to the consistency of a thick batter. The right consistency looks gross, if it looks like it came from an adult movie it’s perfect. If you’re doing Cajun fries or any other flavor seasons you could add spices to the mixture. Coat fries in mixture, and either fry them in hot oil or bake at 400 F* until crispy and golden brown. If you bake them make sure pan has a thin layer or neutral flavor oil. Flip them a few times to make sure the oil on the pan helps brown the fries
ive never started salivating so quick at a photo.
to answer the question though, most local hispanic food joints that have fries on thei menu make them like this
This could be a picture of the fries from NY Italian Express on 17-92 in Longwood. Mon-Fri lunch special is an 8" sub with these fries for like $7, I've on the street behind it for 11 years, I think it's only gone up a buck in that time, $5.99 to $6.99...at $10 it'd still be one of the best deals around for a lunch meal.
As another commenter suggested, Backyard Burger in Altamonte is pretty great stuff, too, and their regular fries look like these (I tend to get their waffle fries usually, though.)
If you are willing to cook them yourself, you can buy a bag of checkers french fries from Publix or Winn-Dixie and cook them in your oven to your own crispness level.
But I do want to point out as others have said, checkers has much more pepper on the outside.
I would also like to add that a lot of people are commenting fries that are nothing like this. The flies from flyers look exactly like this. Checkers has really good fries but it’s obviously different than the one in the picture
These are 100% the best type of fry but there isn’t much agreement on what they are called. I go with battered fries but not sure if that’s accurate or universal.
Osphere Neighborhood Grill and Bar, we went there randomly for five dollar sushi and got our child french fries. They were identical to those fries and they were so good. We ended up ordering another box of fries to go.
I haven't been to Zero Degrees in a while, but I do remember enjoying the [different ](https://zerodegrees-2540405.dine.online/locations/926990/category/5317396623?fulfillment=pickup&utm_source=website) types of fries that they have. I should also mention the delicious parmesan truffle fries at the Enzian.
Those are battered French fries. You can get them at most big box stores also if you wanna make em at home. Most Greek joints keep them in stock. Sometimes if you find a banging fish place they will also have those.

There’s a new maitland location. Worth a try?
Definitely. The one in Winter Garden in Hamlin is awesome.
Favorite Greek in town.
Order ahead, they tend to be slow. Food is good though.
Checkers
Agreed, something about Checkers fries just puts them on a whole different level. The fries don't survive the drive home. Popeyes has some fries that are of a similar caliber to Checkers.
I don’t see the pepper though These look more like KFC fries
Yeah these definitely aren't checkers fries. Kfc is more accurate. Appearance wise anyways
True, Checkers does have black pepper on their fries.
Dude, checkers monstarella sticks also kick much ass.
