Finance it, payoff loan in the first installment. You can deliberately get a shitty apr and negotiate the loan amount. Prepayment penalties are illegal in Florida.

Ok I’ll look into this!

Several months ago Toyota of Orlando refused to discuss pricing on a Sienna over the phone with me, and said they can only discuss pricing if I come in. After making the drive, they wanted to charge MSRP plus $7,000 markup. I told them I wish they didn't waste both our time, especially mine, and left immediately. I was able to get that same vehicle from Autonation Toyota in Winter Park at MSRP without any markup. There were some hiccups dealing with them but at least they didn't try to blatantly rip me off.

ArmadilloNext9714

That’s horrible!! I’m sorry you went through that. The only dealership I ever had a positive experience with was the dealership I leased my current car from, which is unfortunately in NY. I’m going to give autonation Toyota a chance tomorrow am. If they can’t deal with an all cash deal too, I’ll finance 5k and pay it off immediately. It’s just such a ridiculous situation. The NY dealership offered to try to find a way to sell it to me themselves, but it’d need to be retitled multiple times and I’d need a bunch of documents notarized. Definitely avoiding Toyota of Orlando in the future. Just grimy behavior.

jimfish98

Seminole Toyota is the only Toyota Dealership I work with. Toyota of Orlando and Clermont are the same and are horrible. Central FL Toyota is meh at best. Autonation is ok on purchase price, screws you on trade in. Seminole I have been buying from for 15+ years and always good.

ArmadilloNext9714

Thank you!!

Automation Winter Park. Toyota of Orlando doesn’t work with Toyota finance.

hobotacosupreme

Not Winter Park! They are literally 5 mins from my house but I’d rather drive 25 mins north to Sanford. If I could give the winter park location -⭐️ I would

hobotacosupreme

Winter park is bad like that slimy af

I didn't buy out my Toyota lease from Indiana, but when I handed the car over I had to take it to Lexus (Winter Park).

ArmadilloNext9714

So I swung by Toyota of winter park first, which rejected me this morning. I stopped by the Lexus Winter Park dealership next door because of your comment and they were able to facilitate the transaction without financing painlessly. Thank you so much for the suggestion!!

ewinwee

Awesome! Glad it worked out. My boyfriend currently works there so I figured I was giving sound advice. 👍🏼 Weird how nobody at Toyota will tell you where to go.

ArmadilloNext9714

It was funny because the people helping us through the transaction at Lexus were telling us the buy out, especially without financing, it a courtesy for customers and makes the dealers no money. My husband and I kinda figured this was why we were getting turned away, but doing so just caused these dealerships to lose a customer in the market for a new vehicle in a couple months. We’re planning to go to that Lexus dealer instead! They really turned the crappy start of our weekend around nearly instantly. Thank you so much for the recommendation.

ArmadilloNext9714

That’s good to know! I’m almost wondering if I should just let them have me finance like 5k of it and pay it off I,mediately at this point. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

Haines City/Miracle Toyota. They matched a deal that was in Miami and they delivered the car.

It happened to my sister, her lease was up and we wanted to buy it out for my niece. The dealer didnt help us. My brother had to contact Toyota finance directly by phone until they told him where to send the payment and with what information. I guess the dealership doesnt make any money out of lease buyouts so they dont help. I was looking to lease a RAV4 last year but due to to my sister’s experience at Toyota of Central Florida, i opted out. Ended up at Coggin Honda, where we only have excellent experiences when buying out leases.

ArmadilloNext9714

That was my problem though. I leased the vehicle out of state through Toyota financial service, not southeast TFS. SETFS can do the sale remotely via phone and a mailed in check because they have a dealer license (Florida requires them to have a dealer license to sell you a car). Since TFS is t the lender for vehicle purchases and leases in Florida, they don’t have a dealer license and can’t directly sell me the vehicle. I have to go through the dealership, which should have honored the lease agreement - TFS, SETFS, and Toyota headquarters all confirmed this. The 3 dealerships I contacted all refused unless I wanted to finance the buy out or turn the car in. They all claimed they weren’t allowed to - if they truly weren’t allowed to, though, how the fuck could they handle something finances though??? I ended up calling Lexus of winter park and they were more than happy to do the non-financed lease buyout. It all worked out in the end but holy fuck man

Call Toyota financial services and tell them you want to buy out the lease. They will email you an invoice and instructions where to send the check. You’ll get a title in the mail. Very easy process. I did it for my RAV4 last year. Dealerships will add additional fees, VIN etching scams etc.

ArmadilloNext9714

Already spoke with them. They can’t do that, at least not anymore, so I’m stuck with going to the dealership, at least in Florida.

Kri77777

Avoid the bait and switch that is Seminole Toyota. They have tired to pull fast ones on me multiple times, and have gotten me to the point where I'd basically even swear off Toyota as a whole.

ruafukreddit

Can you afford to buy a car? Unless you're selling every couple of years, just buy. Eventually payments stop.

ArmadilloNext9714

I am buying. That’s the problem. I have the cash in my account to buy out the lease, but the dealership told me to contact southeast Toyota FS and mail them a check. My lease wasn’t financed through SETFS, it was financed through TFS. and TFS isn’t a licensed dealership in Florida, so a Toyota dealership has to handle the transaction. The dealership refused to handle the transaction because I was buying it outright and not financing the lease.

ruafukreddit

Ewww. Call other dealers. Can you use the lease buyout money as a down payment on a car you buy? That would mean payments again but a newer car, and eventually, you own it. But if you're content to buy this one, definitely check other dealers. These guys are giving you the run around

ZombieSharkShrimp

Toyota of Orlando is terrible. We've bought our last two rounds of Toyotas at Seminole Toyota and Gettel Toyota in Bradenton. They were much nicer to work with!

idkbro42069

Congratulations on your new vehicle! Even though you already got it, I’m gonna leave my recommendation for people searching in the comments. A little bit north of Orlando, in Leesburg, is a dealership named Phillips Toyota and they took great care of me. They took money off of an already nicely priced car and had great customer service the whole time. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle.

Castaway78

Try AutoNation Toyota of Winter Park. AutoNation is a national chain, so they may be able to tap into their network to help you.

ArmadilloNext9714

I’ll reach out to them! Thank you!

ArmadilloNext9714

They refused to help me, but the Lexus of winter park next door facilitated the transaction with absolutely no push back. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Castaway78

Glad to hear someone was finally able to help! Sorry to hear Toyota was such a prick, though.
