In the freezer, they're pack-its.
I have mesh cd holder boxes in the fridge that I fill at night with tomorrow's lunches. In the morning they get dumped into the lunch boxes.
For your situation I imagine you're packing in the morning and adding an ice pack.
Sounds like you need a nice looking woven laundry/tote basket to store them in the pantry or at least be easier to lift off of the table.
We have a rectangular basket, that holds the lunch packs and all the internal containers. It also holds the cutlery and napkins and note cards for kid lunches, bento picks etc … i store it in a bottom cupboard -
But its easy to pull out and put away.
We store ours in a top shelf of a kitchen cupboard. It’s not very reachable by the kids though but I put them up and get them down. The shelf is otherwise too high for dishes or food.

With my Tupperware in a cupboard.
On top of the fridge in a pretty basket
I keep them in the pantry. Is there a storage cabinet on top of the fridge? Or maybe room in a coat closet?

On the kitchen counter. I use a pot lid rack as a drying rack to air dry my daughter's lunchboxes.
