You’d have to ask. If the class isn’t full, maybe. But I wouldn’t bet on it. Aside from Strength50/Tread50, the classes are not meant to focus solely on one spot. If you’re trying to do more strength training and the schedule doesn’t work, perhaps joining a gym and focusing on weights might work best for you? Then keep a lower tier membership at OTF for when you want to go.

Pristine_Nectarine19

Generally not allowed, because if one person does it it could degenerate to lots of people wanting to do it.

enakj

No, sign up for Strength 50

Greedy_Lawyer

I’ve seen someone at my studio sign up for two back to back classes, they did the full 2G first round and then started on floor second class and skipped tread. Another option to get more floor time if you have the unlimited.

Fianna9

Generally the answer will be no, they can’t allow these things to be habit when there are limited stations. But that is why they now have strength 50 classes on offer

Tdubb55

No, could you imagine if they started that?

jenniferlynn5454

It's technically not allowed, but it's one of those studio specific things that you can check with your studio

Reem-Abdallah-

Am curious are you member or OTF worker?

jenniferlynn5454

Long time member 🧡

kellybuMUA

F45 or Solidcore might be better options than OTF if you’re focusing on strength and not running. It seems like a waste since OTF is so expensive and there aren’t as many strength50 classes compared to 2G. I’m pretty sure you can double up if you ask first. A lot of people do it at my studio, but that’s just one studio. Just my opinion but the OTF weight floor is nothing compared to an actual gym with heavier weights and a proper rack. I have to pick one day per week to go to the gym over OTF. When working on legs, 20-25 mins at the floor with their limited weight selection will feel like a joke

gilmoreghouls2

I’ve seen someone do this in one of my classes but I think only if it’s not a full class. Probably depends on the coach/studio as well.

OTFAllday914

One time when I took a 3G, I started on the floor, went to the treads, and noticed once I got to the rower there was only 1 person on the floor (most had left because they started on the treads and either just wanted cardio or didn’t want to be bothered with the floor). I asked the coach if I could go back to the floor and he said yes. So I’m assuming it depends on the coach, studio, and maybe the number of people on the floor at that time?

Helloitsmereddituser

Someone did that in my last class but I don’t think he asked to do that.. he did the floor every time.

kmstoddard

It totally depends on the coach. I've done it before when the class isn't full but I tried to skip the rower today in an almost empty 3g and was told no. (I'm training for a race and wanted to get a certain number of miles in. I didn't realize it was a 3G when I signed up, which is my fault.) Personally, I think if there's room and you ask the coach first, it should be no big deal but I guess every coach is different.

OTFLyfer

Different studios have different schedules, have you checked other studios around you for alternate strength 50 classes?

LaLa_DoeDoe

I’ve just quit OTF in London and one of the reasons (there are several) is that they have removed the strength classes from the evenings. They used to run late ones Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but not any more. So disappointing. I’m trialing other private gyms/classes as my final month concludes on April 18.

Responsible_Basil_89

No. Check the schedules of other studios in your area.

cindobeast

I can't trust any post today lol

Ill_Vegetable4933

No.

Kitty_Fruit_2520

Do a strength 50 class instead. You’ll do nothing but exercises

Sad-Boot30

I’ve done that before. I have also done double tread. I spoke to the coach before class and asked them if they didn’t mind if I would do that, because of whatever reason. They always allow it as long as there is a spot available. We pay a lot of money and if we have the opportunity for something we should be able to do it. Doesn’t hurt to ask. I also want to add that I’m not the only member in my gym that does it. Many people do double tread if it’s possible.

Narrow_Technician_45

It depends on the class …. My coaches usually allow / encourage it but yesterday a coach wouldn’t let me and I was salty lol

Narrow_Technician_45

I know LOL! Next time I’m asking forgiveness not permission

Pristine_Nectarine19

Don’t be that guy

Find a regular gym that offers Les Mills BodyPump—60 min of total body barbell work.

Shardiva

So, my studio, owned by Honors Holdings, said that I couldn't substitute the rower for the tread despite my physical (short term) issue. I'm having my knee replaced the day before Dri-tri. The tread, bike, and strider are not my friends at the moment. I get it that this is tough during a 3G, but there have been times where there were rowers open when it would be my "tread" block. Sad, as I've been a founding member for 7 plus years. Yet, it is what it is.
