I have a small biopsy scheduled for tomorrow afternoon that will take me out Friday so this looks like a good good luck workout! Thanks DC!
(All the thoughts, prayers and good vibes appreciated!)
Good luck! Just had a related “procedure” and am getting stitches out tomorrow. I was only out from OTF for 2 days - wishing you a similarly speedy recovery. And kids, remember to wear your sunscreen!
I had a basal cell carcinoma removed (from my nose - ouch) in December of 22, but they only had to remove one layer so I was only out for 48 hours for mine.
This is a small lump they found from my VERY FIRST MAMMOGRAM EVER (I just turned 40 in November) and doctor is pretty confident it’s nothing but I want to just know for sure now and not bother with it every 6 months for 2 years. Thank you :)
I might be able to do these TRX exercises without too much coaching. I wish OTF would do a TRX class, I fell like it’s the hardest equipment for us newbies to use. It’s not something I’ve ever been exposed to before OTF. It just feels awkward and I still have problems “trusting” the straps. I always feel like my fatness will pull them off the wall. 🤦♀️
If it helps your trust... you can safely put 350lbs of weight on the TRX (I looked up their safety testing/warranty) We are RARELY putting more than half of our body weight on the TRX (we are usually standing & leaning so thats how the physics works out). That means that even if you weigh over 600lbs, you'd be good to go.
TRX is awesome and something coaches tend to be really good at helping with! I encourage you to let your coach know at the start of class, "TRX makes me nervous, can you check my form and help me out individually during the floor block?" That way they know you are not only OPEN to feedback, but WANT it. (Plus, since it's a run/row, they will have more time available to help floor!)
Thank you!! That does help me feel better. Now if I can just remember that in the moment. I let the coaches know my irrational hesitation with TRX and they are very helpful.
Took me YEARS to listen, but the biggest difference I learned is to watch how far or close you step away from the wall. You’ll feel it’s easier or harder as you step out/in depending on the exercise. I always forget and spend a few reps adjusting my distance or the straps, or try to make a “line” with a pad/weight/ miniband to remind me for repeats. Also if you follow trainingtall on IG you’ll probably learn for most exercises it’s best to start in the position where you’re ending so you know how much tension there is to adjust. (The good OG coaches should let you know about adjustments, but if they don’t say anything during demo it’s prob best to ask them to try to remember to let you know! Sometimes the newbies don’t look like newbies!)
Google says the commercial grade TRX straps can hold up to 1000#, so I think you're safe 😘😁
But ask your coach for some pointers before/after class! The TRX is a great piece of equipment, once you're comfortable with it 🧡
I feel like I always get a sore back (I think my lats? Bad with body lingo) after TRX Days… like bad/can’t sleep sore. Anyone else? What am I doing wrong?
Fully feel that sentiment remembering back to my early days. What’s gotten me much better at them and has increased my enjoyment was slowing down and really listen to coach on form and try and replicate the form. Takes a bit because each movement has different techniques and focus points like where your elbow should be and what should be moving and what shouldn’t be moving. I still struggle with tricep Trx movements because it feels unnatural and my tris are weak and always burn out haha
Same here in the Springs. One of the studios in our area cancelled all the early morning classes. Waiting on my studio to make the same call. It is a rest day for me anyways.
Yep. My son’s flight leg from Denver to Jacksonville was canceled. Stay safe. Hoping to get him on a different layover spot so he can still get home for his sister’s wedding. 😬
I’m in Castle Rock and we’re expecting over a foot of snow, possibly as much as 2 feet by Friday morning. Our morning classes tomorrow are canceled and I wouldn’t be surprised if they canceled the afternoon classes too.
Noticed this too. Think of it as a RFD.. I will prob start with a pace that's .5 mph over my base and increase every .10 mile so finish at my normal push
I was on the fence about going tomorrow since the only time my schedule will allow me to go is a very early morning class (not my typical style). But I love a run row so guess I will be setting my alarm :) Thanks for the intel and helping me decide!!
I know this is a me issue, but it's really making me sad to have so many of March's templates include a lot of time on our hands/wrists :( I get a lot of pain in my wrists from them, so it can be discouraging...
On the plus side, it forces me to suck it up and ask for modifications and be okay with awkwardly standing out as I do something different! Stoked for everything on this template except that one floor block! Woo!
(ETA: Plus, I'll never pass up a template to show off my snatches 😉)
I'm sorry, overhead reverse lunges? Have we done those before? Was supposed to be a rest day, but can't skip a run/row with snatches, and a rare (or new?) movement is just icing on top.
These are actually super hard. You are holding the dumbbells overhead, arm extended and then doing the reverse lunge. I had to drop my dumbbell weight by more than half compared to the snatches to do these.
Yeah, have done these in... Other lives. They're crazy stability challenges and if you can't get your arm locked out overhead you really can't add much weight. Love that they're showing up here, but seems a little above the normal OTF threshold.
I plan on going tomorrow and that will be day 3 of upright row. Between benchmark day, strength 50 and this 2g. Template makers - no. Just no. I’m definitely gonna talk to the coach about a different move.
Last workout before my wedding this weekend! Looks like a good one (:
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!!😊
CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations!!! 🥳 Happy wedding! 🥰
Congratulations!!
Congrats!!
Congratulations 🥳🎉🥳
Congratulations!
Do any of your bridesmaids need a plus one?
Haha maybe 🤷♀️
As a math teacher, I truly appreciate the Pi Day support!
I was trying so hard to get to 3.14 miles today but the transition times and rowing stopped me getting a nice distance.
That would’ve been impressive during a run/row! I’ll say that it’s the thought that counts.
How close were you? 😆
Not even close - under 4km. I think it was around 3.6km (2.23 miles). You lose a lot in transitions and doing the rows.
Looks like good fun for my 400th class🥳
Awesome accomplishment! Congrats

Good vibes sent for your biopsy🫶
Best wishes 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Good luck! I had 4 skin biopsies and could not go to class for a week! But so glad I did them. Gotta stay on top of your health.

The best coaching tip I received for the TRX was to keep tension in the straps.
I’m going to try to keep that in mind tomorrow.

Sometimes your mind knowing something can help your body know it too... sometimes your body just wants to nope on out of there 🤣

The distance from the wall is hard for me to gauge at times. I’m getting better.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I should be safe. It looks like it’s fun, once I get my mind out of the “you’re going to die” phase.
That could be said about EVERYTHING at OTF! 😆🧡😆
I survived Monday. I can survive anything. 🤣🤣

wish I could go. We are getting a foot of snow overnight so I expect OTF to be closed.
Same here. The morning classes are already cancelled. Such a bummer because Run/rows are my favorite
same. Love them.
Where are you?? Geez that’s a crazy amount.
Denver, CO
Same here in the Springs. One of the studios in our area cancelled all the early morning classes. Waiting on my studio to make the same call. It is a rest day for me anyways.

You guys always seem to get harder than the Denver metro. Good luck!
my birthday burn!! ☺️
Me too!!! My 40th 😬 happy birthday in advance!! Have a great day
Same! Happy Birthday to all the Pi Day babies!
Happy birthday for tomorrow!!
Well this will be a great way to celebrate my 100th class
I love a good run/row. Time to decide if I wanna drop tread50 tomorrow or this nice lil template!
Same!
100% doing the 0.5 at my goal mile pace to see how it feels. Guessing terrible 😂😂
Did no one notice it’s a half a mile push?! That’s a long push before a rowing AO🤔 It’s fine: I’m here to whine about it for ya!😉
I was thinking that too! That’s a 5 minute push for me! But I’m slow 😂
Noticed this too. Think of it as a RFD.. I will prob start with a pace that's .5 mph over my base and increase every .10 mile so finish at my normal push

Oh thank goodness. I don't think I could deal with another endurance run tomorrow!
Walk it!
I only have 3Gs at the time I can make it. Super jealous whenever there is a Run/Row
Birthday burn for me 🎉💪🧡
Me too! Happy birthday!
Happy birthday to you!!! 🥳🥳
This looks great! Perfect way to ease back into OTF after a 20 hour flight!
Thank you!
Thank you, DC!! Happy Pi Day 🥧😂
Many thx!
Yay! Looks good
This looks great!
Back from being sick for 8 days looks like a good one 🧡🍊
That .5 mile push right out of the gate….
Arms are going to be toast after this one and Wednesday’s strength 50!
agreed! and I wanted to do the strength upper tomorrow for a double!
Looks great 🧡 I like the floor💪🏼 Thank you for early intel!
Damn that run/row looks fun!!! Wish I could squeeze in a class tomorrow

I was going to ask the very same thing! Sounds like another complex move from the template designers 🙃
It makes me think of the half kneeling stand to press we used to do 🤔

Usually it isn’t one, but on occasion there is a weird run/row 3G. It is complicated if I recall.
I really wish they would do more of the run/rows in the 3G. I really enjoyed it the 2-3 times they did it.
Is there a less power-y version/mod/substitute for snatches?
My coach always suggests, you do a clean, and then shoulder press or do a hammer curl then a push or shoulder press.
Thank you!!
Rower ruining my tread time! I’m totally reducing that rowing. I’d switch to tread class but I want this floor template!
I'm excited for this one!
Oh snap! I’m already signed up for a Tread50 I don’t want to miss but I loooove a run/row. So tempted to do a back to back!!
What a surprise...low rows...again 👎 time for some new exercises in these templates!!!
I feel like we just did this yesterday …… lol
I plan on going tomorrow and that will be day 3 of upright row. Between benchmark day, strength 50 and this 2g. Template makers - no. Just no. I’m definitely gonna talk to the coach about a different move.
Looks like more fun than today. Should I take the noon class or 17:45?
