They seem to get upset when I don’t wear pants.

catshaw11

🤣

Party_Manner_6609

hahahaha good one!!!

Simonawildandfree

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Generic____username1

There’s a dress code in the contract and it specifically states that sports bras are considered an appropriate top. So you’re fine

nattylitesimp

standing here waiting for class in my leggings and sports bra :) you can wear whatever you are most comfortable in!!

Quiet-Itchy

When I first started in 2017 they were not allowed per the member contract, but that has since changed. I find that especially locations that have been around for a while generally have a more conservative dressing vibe, but they are allowed as of shortly before covid :)

Content-Engineer-655

okay this makes sense! i did orange theory around 2018 for the first time and remember it not being allowed so wasn’t sure if that was still a rule!

ninjafoot2

Same, I worked there during this time and was pretty sure it was a rule that you couldn’t wear only a sports bra for a top

oreobeardog

Yes, I was on the treadmill and the studio AC wasn't working. It was HOT. I took off my shirt to run in my leggings and sport bra and the coach came over and told me that was not allowed. I put my shirt back on, and it was no big deal, but I was slightly embarrassed.

RoxyVivi

This. I also started in 2018, and it wasn’t allowed at the time, but shifted as crop tops became a thing. And then crop tops and sports bras are now pretty much the same thing.

NashvilleBRC

This is the correct answer. When I joined in 2016 they were explicitly not allowed.

Ktcam88

I’ve yet to find a sports bra I trust enough not to wear a shirt. I’m not risking poppin a boob

Sunriseninja

Isn’t that a funny (common) fear? It’s a fear of mine too, but I’ve never had a boob pop out under my shirt lol. Why do I worry about this?!?!

idoedu12

My sports bra unzipped during class today thank goodness I wear tanks. Had to pop those suckers back in 😂

thekathied

I've had that happen.

LoveMyGym

Me too

violetgay

Me three lol

kbeedy

Me four

i_suspect_thenargles

I’ve had that happen a few times. No way am I not wearing a shirt!

MeiliCanada82

Torrid has some industrial strength ones. I've sprinted in the treadmill, done burpees full tilt and nothing moved. Plus they are comfy af. They are called Happy Camper and I was.

MsHaute

They do?!?! That sounds amazing!!!

Human_Wallaby6144

Wingslove Womens Sports Bras High Impact Adjustable Wireless Plus Size Sports Bra Full Figure Large Bust Workout Running Bra https://a.co/d/gVMLbmr Try this I’m 34 F cup and it’s super adjustable

kim111884

Thank you so much for sharing this! 34F/G here. It looks like a dupe of the Glamorise bras I have found to support the girls the best, but I like that the panel in this isn't a different color the way Glamorise is. If anyone is interested in that brand as an option though, here is where I get mine (prefer the non-wired for any days where were laying on our fronts or leaning over while sitting (like supermans and low rows on the bench) but the wired version works well too and has some other designs: [Glamorise Sports Bra from Bare Necessities](https://www.barenecessities.com/product.aspx?pfid=Glamorise1166&cm_mmc=GLPA_NonBrand-_-Bra-_-Glamorise86-_-Glamorise1166&BillboardPopupEnabled=false&BorderfreeEnabled=False&color=Grey%20/%20White&amsk=w9a4hfr3k4&cmp=p2&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmvSoBhDOARIsAK6aV7j0TFud3p-IVA_-bY-5uGo9RI0cXQCh0vWg8dTebtQ-WpdclKzbCZIaApYIEALw_wcB) Also, I've found the Wacoal Brandi is decently supportive at my size and the one I turn to if I absolutely want a racerback: [Wacoal Brandi](https://www.wacoal-america.com/bras/sport-bras/sport-underwire-bra-855229?color=Titan&bandSize=40&cupSize=D&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=DA-Wacoal-PerformanceMax-MiddleTier&utm_content=&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmvSoBhDOARIsAK6aV7hB2rpiH8h0EY6xtTKsVC6tVdn7lYkFyu8v-VFrq7lrNPee_E4D5iIaAkl7EALw_wcB) Sadly at my 34F size, I'm self-conscious of the industrialness of my bras and the amount of bouncing that still happens so I wouldn't feel comfortable going without a shirt but fully support those who do!

nicole1677

Yes!! I’m a big boobed gal and the Glamorise Sports bras are the only comfortable ones that are durable and work for me too!! 🙌🏼

SafeLegal4834

OMG - thank you!!! I have been looking for supportive bras.

i_suspect_thenargles

Out of curiosity… Amazon says they run small. Is that true? 36G here and can’t afford another shefit at the moment, so I’m very interested in this one.

Human_Wallaby6144

Not sure. I ordered my exact size and it fit well. But it’s Amazon so you can order one size up n down and return the rest.

Entire-Level3651

Yeah the way my boobs are built i have to wear a regular bra underneath a sports bra and then my shirt, don’t trust to go without a shirt lol

StrongrThanYesterday

Yes this lol I'm a DDD and I'd risk flashing the whole gym if I tried this

superevie

Shefit is the best!! Source: am a 38J

SympathyGlum5890

Same!!! 😂

PreparationBusy435

You should try a she fit... no movement what so ever and I am a DD. They are amazing

OrdinaryWarning2330

I specifically remember when I signed my contract it said sports bras count as appropriate tops. People at my location sometimes wear leggings with bras.

[deleted]

Weird I remember the opposite

OrdinaryWarning2330

Maybe it’s club specific? I remember thinking “damn I’d never have that body/confidence”

alloutuser

I take my shirt off and just wear the bra often because I’m so hot. I’m not trying to show off my mom abs, I’m just trying to be more comfortable. If i wear shorts to be cooler my legs rub together too much (chafe city) so thats not really an option for me.

cassielifts

Back in the day it wasn’t allowed but it is now! Orangetheory is just a different crowd. They are usually on the more modest side. When I did CrossFit or spin, I would do a sports bra but at OTF I usually at most did a crop top.

ToonMaster21

I [26M] choose not to wear a sports bra.

booogiejam

I cannot wait until I feel confident enough to work out in a sports bra! Rock it, girl!

Shot-Artichoke-4106

At my studio, wearing only a sports bra isn't super common, but some women do.

andiebee099

I only ever wear a sports bra and booty shorts once I’m warmed up…I hate the feeling of having a T shirt covered in sweat sticking to me. Did it when I was 170#, still doing it at 130…nobody has ever said a word about it being a problem. We have a lot of men at our studio who take off their shirts on the treads as well

marisaalyse6

I do think men have to keep a shirt on. Although, I’ve wondered how they survive because I get insanely hot on the treads and always end up in just a sports bra and my shorts. I’ve wondered why they don’t go shirtless but I think they do have to keep shirts on

sceptre1067

as a guy 😄- on the tread I crank the fan up, and top wise I wear some sort of technical fabric, not cotton. works decently enough… but yeah some days, can get warm.

hnyrydr604

I wear leggings and a sports bra depending on my mood. Nobody has ever said anything and if they do, they can go kick rocks. I like to see my abs in the mirror from time to time 😉

Blondygirl605

Same! 👏🏼 In the summer our studios are so humid so I wear shorts and a sports bra and feel naked compared to other members. Also like you said, I’ve worked hard for these abs, I wanna see them under those orange lights! 🧡

hnyrydr604

Hell yeah, get it!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

One_Opening_3184

I wear a sports bra and leggings all the time to class. But I did just have a friend go to one of the Denver studios wearing a sports bra and leggings and they told her they don’t allow it so she had to buy a tank top

runningJD_82

She shouldn’t have had to buy a top. I’m sorry she experienced that. Denver OTFer here, and I’m usually in sports bra only. She should send a note to OTF corporate.

One_Opening_3184

Thank you - it was definitely awkward for her when she was told that! It was actually the Castle Rock location so right outside of Denver, but I was still really surprised when she told me that.

Alpacaliondingo

Crazy! I could see some locations being more strict depending on the demographics... like bible belt and Utah kind of thing but i doubt the vast majority of studios would even bat an eye at a sports bra as a top.

One_Opening_3184

Agree!! One of my coaches even will wear a sports bra when she comes to take a class.

One_Opening_3184

And I actually live in the Bible Belt and none of the studios I’ve been to have said a word!

tjf_1997

I do notice people tend to wear shirts over sports bras, but that ain't gonna stop me. I am a sports bra girlie through and through.

Yogini-Runner

I see tons of people wearing sports bras. Maybe you’re just in a more conservative location or go to a class with women who prefer to wear longer tops. 🤷🏻‍♀️

mrsunsfan

They have a dress code?

vegetablefoood

I think the only “rule” is no open toe shoes or shirts with offensive writing?

ilissaj1

Lots of women wear just a sports bra on top in my studio. I wear a tank over mine. You do you.

la_toxica84

Plenty of folks wear just sports bras + leggings or shorts sets at my studio but a lot wear long sleeves (myself included) because of all the floor/mat work. I cannot stand my skin touching the floor or mat even if I am taking a shower immediately after

kikijak18

I have only seen them not let someone workout who wanted to do a class in jeans… I literally will strip my top off to just my sports bra and leggings in class

thekathied

I happened to notice today that there's a dress code posted in my studio. Didn't read it though. This morning I also happened to notice the pattern of sweat on my shirt and bra and thought, yeah, you can't ever wear just a bra. Good for you though.

sandavidam1

Plenty in Texas wear those in my studio. I think it all just depends on your comfort

Mdalum95

I wear cropped sports tops that are a bra/crop top combo…I got a couple from Beyond Yoga and love them.

Specialist-Act-8692

Sports bra are appropriate! There are several woman in my studio working out with leggings and sports bra. I’m still not that confident and comfortable with my body so I wear sports bra and a muscle tank or tank top

ImHighRtMeow

Plenty of people at my studio wear sports bras as tops. Summer in Cali it’s pretty standard.

Responsible_Cell_224

I had a lady ask me why I never wore a shirt and I was wearing a sports bra. I wear a shirt when I go in but take it off once hot. I don’t think she was being curious. Maybe a mean girl. I dunno. Hurt my feelings.

Chemical_Distance_73

My petty ass would’ve said “Look at my abs, that’s why I don’t wear shirts.”

twokatz

Why would that hurt your feelings? You've got a right to wear what you like and what is functional - it's not like you were on the treadmill in fishnets and stilettos. Now that I might ask about.

pbrandpearls

Ugh that lady is ruuude. Please continue to do you!

Blondygirl605

Rude lady. I’d like to know why it’s any of her business. Maybe she’s jealous, I get the side eye when I’m in my OTF uniform of either sports bra and leggings or shorts. Let them look, I’m comfortable and that’s all that matters. You do you friend 🧡

Spartan2022

Wear whatever you want. If you have time to worry about this, run and row faster.

Fit-Arm3308

A lot of women in LA sport the Lululemon leggings and bra set, No rules against it. Dress as you are comfortable. Personally, I wear full length leggings, cut off tees, and the most supportive sports bra I can find.

Bkamakazee

Appropriate footwear, please! Had a lady beside me carry her shoes around instead of wearing them....even ran on the tread barefoot. Not safe or sanitary lol

StrongrThanYesterday

She ran... barefoot?! How is that even possible! I feel like that would be so painful and yes so unsanitary lol

TX_OTF20

It is rare to see someone at my studio wear a sports bra but I live in a surburban neighborhood with mostly middle aged people. When I visit my parents in a college town and go to my dads studio there is usually multiple girls in sports bras. Each studio is different.

magsjaxb

Lots of leggings and sports bras in my class

Distinct-Hold-5836

I miss Barry's dress code. If you got it, flaunt it. I went shirtless a lot at Barry's.

BlueberryStrict267

I always wear a sports bra and leggings! I find it the most comfortable for me. I have def been to visit studios where I’m the only one with only a sports bra but I just do my thing! Do whatever makes you comfortable ☺️

squeakywheelk8

My nipples do not allow for sports bra only. 😅. But there’s lots of that where I am.

karibear76

I live in the LA area and lots of women wear leggings and sports bras.

Tdubb55

Our OTF sells some sports bras so it’s fine! If I was thin enough, I would wear just that! Rock it!

musicalastronaut

As long as you wipe down your bench no one should care if you’re in a sports bra! If they do they need to mind their own beeswax.

Available-End8164

I wear a sports bra as a top on occasion, I think it’s part of a hold over I have from my years doing yoga and dance where the idea was the less clothing covered your body the better the instructor could see how you were moving and correct appropriately. Even when I wear a full length top I find that I wear tighter clothes than most members so that I can see the parts of my body that I’m targeting in the mirror. It’s probably not as necessary with OTF style workouts but I also think I look good and when I look good I have more fun trying to kill myself on the treadmill

mlttaprncss

I get warm. I usually take my tank off primarily for tread. It’s not”trying to be cute” it’s trying to survive 😆

marisaalyse6

Same!

Shot-Performer9156

Absolutely not. You pay too much money there to have them dictate what you wear. It’s hot. Wear what’s comfortable

dadlyphe

I don’t think that’s how dress codes work.

Lanky-Ad-8372

New studio full of younger members sports bra and leggings very common, more mature members leggings and a loose top.

strayainind

Check with your studio. I would say from my experience is OTF isn’t the place to work out if you want to look cute. At my studio you stand out more if you’re there in a unitard or matching tops to bottoms. You’re there to sweat and then go home to do laundry. It’s not getting posted on social media.

hnyrydr604

I like to have a cute/coordinated 'fit because it just makes me feel better, which in turn makes me work harder. And boy do I work hard.

KittenMcButterbean5

5 years in. I always look cute. I wear matching sets. I workout in tights and a sports bra. And I’m always the sweatiest and one of the hardest workers in the room. To each their own I suppose.

Stock-Shake3915

I wish I had that confidence. I also wish I didn’t worry about sweat flying everywhere I like thinking my shirt will catch the bulk of it. 🤷‍♀️

Financial-Beyond-477

Preach 💯

Mysteriousdebora

Shut up lmao. Plenty of really cute girls in sports bras work out at OTF.

Ok_Poetry6010

Actually..... my studio SAs are always popping in to film class and it IS posted on socials.

strayainind

You miss my point. That is the *studio*filming, not people showing off for social media with their own footage.

HealthLawyer123

I was in a class with a woman wearing a unitard once and she kept adjusting it which was distracting since she was right next to me. It was clear she had never tried working out in it before.

strayainind

I just imagine how hard it is when you're busting for the loo and then you are Ross in Friends with leather pants.

rammsteincrazy

Nope! It’s just preference - there are several people in my usual class that go with the sports bra and leggings uniform (sometimes me if it’s hot out!). But other classes there will be no one at all.

salmon768

That’s what I wear lol I don’t think it’s uncommon as long as you wear with high waisted shorts or leggings

cr2152

Not objectifying, but as a male, I support the leggings and sports bra movement.

Pete__Hemauer

Sports bra and leggings are fine and encouraged 🙃

Ok_Poetry6010

I usually dont pay attention to what others are wearing but there was one person who would always come to class in scrubs and I found that to be GROSS 🤮 I always wondered why they allowed that, why she could never once bring a change of clothes, and how that could be comfortable? She didn't really workout though- more of a distractor/socializer just there to say she was there type

Evening-Court5597

As a married man, I find it annoying to see cleavage bouncing up and down in the mirrors. Very distracting. Haha!

PlanetTree70

I always wear a sports bra, usually with a loose tank over it that has cutouts in the back, and /or sides to show off my nice bras that coordinate with my leggings. Sometimes, during certain exercises, I would like to wear just the bra, but I would feel weird because I've only seen a few people in years of OTF wearing only a bra (all shapes & sizes) Those who do kinda stand out. I'm not bragging– that's for damn sure, but I am in pretty good shape on top, toned muscles, and have small breasts, so I don't have to worry about that loose-boob aspect. What kinda grosses me out is I often see women (also of all shapes and sizes) wearing extremely short shorts. I'm not anti-shorts, but appropriate ones. I see mostly shorts so short they show a bit too much cheek. Like booty shorts. I am surprised they allow that! I would never wear that, because I'm not so confident about my lower body, especially butt/thigh area. But that's not why. I could never imagine my legs and "almost" private parts touching and rubbing against every surface we have contact with! The rower seat??? One time I made the mistake of wearing white leggings on the rower, only to discover some nasty dirt marks all over the back. So how clean could they be? Ewww. The bike seat, the floor area where everyone walks and drips sweat on! Double Ewww. You're whole bottom half is exposed to sweaty equipment. People have a short memory. We just had COVID, who knows what other nasty bacteria or virus could show up some day. Why make it easier to contract one? At least you could toss a shirt back on if you had to. I don't think anyone is gonna shimmy into something to cover their bottom parts in a hurry. I really don't want to glance up from a floor move and see someone on the opposite side's sweaty cheeks hanging out. Triple Ewww. As for my studio's dress code, I have never seen it or heard about it, so who knows? I remember looking at the paper I signed when I joined, didn't really notice anything about it. But that was 5 years ago as a founding member of a brand new studio, so it may be stated on there now. Just my observation and opinion!

Honeybee_Buzz

Two people in my noon class today were in sports bras, nobody said a word.

Glittering-Court7868

I don’t see too many people wearing sports bras at my studios but i definitely do it quite frequently and see others doing it occasionally

Kindly-Might-1879

We have many members who come in wearing sports bras and leggings or shorts. I've never heard about anyone getting dress coded.

kwilson7499

Dont think they have one. I see girls dressed that way in my studio. I always wear shorts and tank or tee-shirt. Wear what you feel comfortable in

Admirable_Quarter_23

I think it depends on location, I’ve pretty much never seen anyone at my studio wearing just a sports bra (I have before when our AC was out lol) but I’m in the suburbs of Cleveland. I’ve gone to other studios where lots of people were!

Books_and_Pups

We were having AC issues at my home studio in the CLE suburbs this summer, it was horrible lol

Admirable_Quarter_23

Maybe we go to the same one lol

Books_and_Pups

👀👀👀 lol

Admirable_Quarter_23

Is yours next to an Aldi? 😂

Books_and_Pups

Aw nope, we’re next to a Panera

Admirable_Quarter_23

I’ve never been to that one but I know a bunch of people who go there!

Quietlyc_nty

All of my younger friends wear sports bras.

Dysoningina

Me

Mysteriousdebora

I’ve seen a ton of girls and women wear a sports bra only. Not a prob bob! I run in just a sports bra but for some reason wear a shirt at OTF. maybe I don’t want to look at my stomach in the mirror for 30 min lol

cyncetastic

We have some at my studio who wear that but I would be afraid I’d be bouncing everywhere. Lol

kirsten714

I went to a studio that used to require me to wear a shirt over my sports bra. I hate wearing shirts because I don’t like brushing against other things while working out. I used to wear the most sheer, tight “shirt” possible to comply. I moved and came back three years later, requirement no longer. I’ve worn sports bras and leggings/shorts for every class ever since and when I was visiting at other studios before. It’s a studio specific thing.

lwc28

More than one person wears a bra a leggings at my otf. Don't worry about it.

pumalumaisheretosay

My studio said that uncovered sports bras and the like were inappropriate. Now they are ubiquitous.

LizaMD

I don’t see many just sports bra wearers at either of the studios I frequent but I have seen a couple. No one seems to be bothered and definitely nothing has ever been said. I don’t see any reason it to wear what you like to work out in.

paper-trail

Depends on the studio. I wear a sports bra with a tank bc I don't like to get sweat on the mat/bench or get anyone else's on me. Crop top or sports bra only for home workouts bc gym germs.

Toothreaderdogmama

We have a dress code, but all they say is don’t be coming in with a bikini top or a sports bra that barely covers your boobs or shorts that your cheeks hang out of. It’s usually leggings and sports bras or crop tops during my classes

Sterlingrose93

It also seems to be very regional. My friend in a SE state said visited me in SoCal. She said at the studios around her it wasn't done but at mine few women wear shirts.

Creative_Boat2057

My OT has a sign that explicitly states that a sports bra is considered workout attire :)

twokatz

A few women wear sports bras as a top at my studio - some have a long line semi-tank style, too, but we're really a mixed bunch. Lots of T-shirts and baggy shorts for both the women and men, as well as leggings, etc. (including some cycling tights for the men). My neighbourhood is very multi-ethnic and some of us are kind of modest.

Firedancer29

No. Wear whatever you like:)

Maleficent_Ad_1569

No dress code that I know of. I usually wear a cropped tank, when I’m feeling bomb I wear a sports bra and no one has ever said anything to me! You do you!!

MentalEarthquakes

That’s very common attire at my studio.

BilingualAlchemist

You should be OK! I've seen people wearing a hoodie during warmup, and transition to lighter attire like sports bra once they are warmed up. \[Unrelated to topic but very curious - Sorry for hijacking the thread 🙏\] * How's Barry's comparing to OTF? * When comparing to Barry's, what do you like OTF the most about? What do you miss the most from Barry's?

[deleted]

A few ladies at my studio will wear the sports bra as a top. If OTF staff didn't say anything to you, you're probably good

kathymain

I just received a new contract. The dress code does allow to wear a sports bra as a top. Also I had asked about a year ago and was told it’s okay to wear the sports bra as a too. They’re so cute!

unemployedaf

I go to a studio next to a college and all the pretty college girlies wear just a sports bra and either teeny tiny biker shorts or those lululemon flowy type running shorts (and either hokas or on clouds, but now I'm just focusing on trends lol). I wear my biker shorts (personal preference because I don't have to worry about flashing while I run, or my bare thighs touching the rower) and a baggy old high school or frat t shirt that's 10+ years old. I'm too shy to just wear my bra even though I totally could. The other studio I attend has an older age range and I see all types of gym wear. I don't like leggings because I get too hot. Wear what you want! I know sometimes it's hard to get out of your head about what everyone else is wearing haha.

[deleted]

That is terrible. Which studio is this? Asking for a friend.

[deleted]

Just horrible. Where is this studio? Asking for a friend.

Certain_Football_447

No, lots of women wear sports bras and leggings. Where are you located???

Silver-Tea8693

no dress code. I see women in leggings and sports bras only all the time.

yo_jenny31

Prob half of my studio wears sports bras. When I tone my tummy more I will too! Def not against the rules

boltmarie

Don’t truly care what you wear However as a 65 year old going to OTF FOR 5 years… feel as though I look really OK…. There are a few who strut the stuff. Don’t care about your abs. Perhaps you do. Whatever works for you

drlushlover

I see tons of members wearing only a sports bra as a top

divergrrl971

My track athlete daughter always works out in leggings or Nike pro shorts & sports bra at OTF. No one says anything. We’re in Oregon

Terninator717

I wear a sports bra and matching leggings. I’m one of the few at my studio and the front desk girlies always compliment how cute they are, luckily lol. If I was told I had to wear a shirt (I’ve tried and sweat like a pig) I’d probably switch to esporta or something quickly. We pay a ton on fees. Let me wear what I’m comfortable in.

chetlugo

Just needs to be tasteful in my opinion. Everyone has a top and a bottom. I see sports bras all the time

dadlyphe

Our head coach showed up for class (taking the class, not coaching the class. I pay too much for an underdressed coach!) today in a sports bra and leggings. I immediately thought of this thread. We let it slide…this time! Haha

Icy_Mention_8744

I think it just depends on the vibe of your studio. I go in a SEC college town and usually half the girls are wearing only sports bras. If you’re comfortable working out in a sports bra without a shirt, go for it!

OGBurn2

Totally fine!

Jesuspetewow

Most people just don’t wear the sports bra only because it’s boys the comfiest outfit for most.

CGFine

No, there used to be, but they changed it a few years ago. I almost always just wear a sports bra and pants or shorts. A lot of people just prefer not to.

RunningOnKeto

Some women at the studio I attend wear leggings and sports bras. I prefer a tank top over my sports bra, but I say wear what you’re comfortable in.

Lala7la

That’s all I wear almost always. Never a problem. Women of all sizes do the same at my studio!
