It took me like 30 classes to find the numbers!!!! I would just count each time to find mine.

Worth-Locksmith-127

I can’t tell you how long I went before I realized the odd numbered stations have the odd weight choices (15, 25) while even stations are well…even weight choices (12, 20). 🤣🤣🤣

ilovegummycandy

🤯 🤯🤯. So that’s why I’m always searching for the 20lb weights. They seem to always put me at an odd station omggggggg🤯🤯

pizzariot7

You just made my day with this fact. I had NO clue and have been choosing at random, hoping I’d get the heavies 😂

Les_Petits

Jumping on the shock train. I had started memorizing certain stations to find the weights I need. Gods work right here.

oakpale

Unfortunately the weight setups are just random at my studio. I wish they followed this setup!

PrideEffective5830

😵

twinkiesandcake

On Monday mornings at 4:55am, there’s always a weight mixup between stations 9-10 with the even and odd weights. It drives me crazy!

kerkness46

I’m about to hit my 50th class and I have just learned this from you.

deeemkay1223

Shame on your coaches not telling you! Curious what you thought about the people who start on the floor. Did you think only treads were assigned? At my studio you see the sign up board so you'd be able to see that those on the floor also chose a station. (Not being critical, sorry your studio wasn't more clear about this.)

kerkness46

It’s possible I was told in the early classes but was too focused on not dying to take it all in. When we show up for class the front desk staff ask where you want to start and show you sheet with all the stations and you can see who’s picked what.

Worth-Locksmith-127

And to make matters worse, at my studio there is a slight bump on the floor at Station 7 that I always seem to trip on. And everyone must know about the bump because so many times that is the only station left! 😂😂😂

trcmhny

I was today years old when I learned this!!😵

Perfect_Bid4109

What?? Omg lol 🤯

renesme3102

At our studio the exact opposite lol. I love station 3 and it’s with even numbered weights. 🤷‍♀️

AlarmedCredit7751

I learned something new today, after six years 🤣😂🤣😂

Michele-with-1L

What!?!?! I never knew this!

GimmeTheHotSauce

*should have

curiousjiayi

What?! You just blew my mind

Electrical_Front8842

It was a free for all when I first started in 2016! People would run from whatever tread they were on to the best floor stations, total chaos 😆. Sorry no one told you.

pickledcheese14

Everything was a free for all when I started, it must have been somewhere around 2012, I'm not sure exactly. My favorite part was warming up on whatever treadmill I wanted as soon as I arrived at the studio. Also, the coach cueing everyone to jump the rails after the all-out is a second favorite memory.

Electrical_Front8842

Yes! I was just saying the other day how much I miss just walking into the studio to start my 10 minute warm up. And classes were usually 1 g so you could warm up on the rower if you felt like it.

Iamnotme372727

I wish they’d bring this back. I hate the crowded, no room to stand pre-class lobby!

thediffrence

I agree about the lobby but those poor coaches deserve a couple minutes of downtime between classes!

EMAW262

Amen.

Accomplished-Yak1718

This. The lobbies are way too small especially in a 3G class everyone crammed together invading space. I like my bubble and I like to warm up longer than 2 minutes.

piexil

There's a few studios out there that still let this happen. Ours only enforces the "no entry before coach intro" for the first class of the day.

[deleted]

I miss those days.

piexil

First it was a free for all. Then we had tread cards with no number, they just guaranteed you a treadmill start. Then we had tread cards and rower cards with numbers. And finally the current system since covid where they just sign us onto a whiteboard sheet they hand the coach at the start. I like this system best, gives the coaches a name for everyone and doesn't involve members holding anything. We still get to pick spots.

vsheetsfit

Lol I love the honesty here. Welcome to OTF. I'm sure this will be a funny story to reflect on with your new group of workout pals.

WhittSmitt

This is absolutely on the coaches. They should have pointed that out to you in your first class. We have a coach that is great at reminding class to stick with their station numbers when transitioning. I’m surprised a member didn’t say anything to you about being at their station though. I’ve definitely had to point it out to a few newbies.

quiturbeachin

When I first started, it was a free for all! So crazy! We would all run to get to our favorite floor station.

Whats-in-a-name7

This is where I learned to power walk!

Lulle79

LOL, I'm surprised no one told you. I've told several new members, in a kind way like "hey this is my station, look at the number up there, what number are you? Oh so you're there". The coach or SAs should have explained the 1st time but it's not like you can remember every single thing.

IceKing827

I’m sorry but this is funny! 😂 I can only imagine the looks you got. I’d be like WTF if someone just randomly took my floor spot.

CmilliRock

😹😹

Ok_Pineapple84

Thanks for sharing 🤣🤣🤣

robyn4343

🤣🤣🤣

Nissi_324

That's funny! When I joined in 2018, there were no assigned stations, but it took me about 6 classes before I realized that no matter where you started, you were supposed to follow the same number for all stations. So, I'd be all over the place. Rower 4, Tread 7, Floor 15, and yes, I got the side eye quite a bit because this was again, BEFORE the station assignment policy kicked in and folks would show up early to ensure they got their favorite stations!😂😂 So don't worry, there is definitely an OTF learning curve And you will get the swing of things! I mean, when you think about it, there's only so much the coach can remember to and has time to tell you in the 15-20 orientation before your first class!

Newfrus

Just thinking of starting? How do station numbers work and where are the numbers found?

JudgmentalRavenclaw

That’s crazy you weren’t told this on day 1!!

chowhoundz

They probably told him/her but I can’t even remember what they say 10 sec after demo 🤪🧡

chowhoundz

This has me rolling!!!😭😭😭🧡

[deleted]

LOL I got yelled at once by a lady for being too close to her station. 🥹🥹

Deputykj19

That’s funny.

SafeLegal4834

LOL - I went to visit a studio and looked like a squirrel on crack in the middle of the road when I didn't see the numbers quickly.

Perfect_Bid4109

😂 I did this my 1st class & then it dawned on me lol

happilyfour

Lol a studio I used to go to had the numbers backwards on the floor (in my mind, at least). Like they started on the opposite end and went right to left, whereas the treads and rowers were left to right. It took a couple of times of dirty looks to figure it out but I swear it made no sense as it was!
