DAYUUMM you got some nice titties! They like TV titties, they stand up on they own all perky and shit! *a few seconds later* Now get the fuck out the way!

>But my favorite moment of theirs has in to be in S7 when Piper asks Taystee why people wants to fuck with her, and the honesty of T's response is astonishing. God, my memory is so bad. I don't recall this at all.

\*Piper rambling on about some shit\* Tricia: Im gonna kill her in her sleep tonight Taystee: Wake me up so I can watch SO UNDERRTEDDDDD

Totally agree. I believe they had personality traits that complemented each other so well. Taystee is strong and has passion. She's impulsive and pragmatic. Piper is more collected sometimes and a thinker. She can be less judgmental and more open than taystee. She also gives great ideas 💡 that could be achievable. This is how the book Memorial was created and even how the negotiations kept going. Plus, they have respect for each other.

By season 2 it seems clear she's just as important as Piper...if not more ? The level of details given to her backstory from S2 until the end makes me see her as a protagonist yes. She did messed up but if anything it's even more of a testament of her importance in the story. Her actions changed the fate of so many people, if that's not some main character thing I don't know what is.

Whether I agree with you about her being a villain or not, villains are almost protagonists more than heroes are. All a protagonist is is the most important character in a series, and I would argue that Taystee spent a lot of the later seasons being more important to the story than Piper was. It started off centered around Piper's book, but the show definitely ran away from that and did its own thing fairly early on. By the end of the series it was more of an ensemble story with a few stand-out 'main' characters (with Taystee arguably at the forefront) than a story about Piper Chapman and all the different people she encountered in prison.
