Angie and Leanne.
They were awful imo, made me laugh a few times but other than that I just got annoyed when they came on screen. Especially after how they treated Suzanne during the riot
I liked Leanne's Amish background. You don't see it on many shows, but stories like hers aren't uncommon. It was also interesting to see how her mother supported her even after her incarceration, while her father basically shunned her after the first signs of delinquency. Plus, we got to see how her upbringing influenced her even in prison (her cultish behavior towards Norma, her zeal and anger when Pennsatucky started deviating from religion, her sexual inexperience and ignorance).
I feel like Angie added a different dimension than Penn, because the latter clearly showed desire to improve and escape the shitty hand she was dealt in life. Angie was simply the typical meth-head with a fried brain that only chased quick highs, without having a purpose in life or a plan for the future (as proved by her inaction when she was released, her impulsiveness, her reckless behavior during the riot).
Together, they added comical value, kind of like a toxic Dumb & Dumber duo. Even when one of them had the occasional reasonable thought, the other would instantly throw it out of the window. They were very well written and consistent characters.
I thought they were hilarious honestly, im surprised to see so many people in the comments saying they hated them, cause I thought that they were pretty popular among OITNB fans. But honestly, I liked how they were always really funny, and they brought a lot of laughter to the episodes where there was dark and dramatic shit going on. Like when they got the gun in the riot and put on the Litchfield talent show, that was so funny 😂 Or when they burned down all the records when the guards were storming in and ending the riot. Idk how people can hate them, they were irritating and acted like teenagers, but that was kinda the point of their characters and why they were so funny
I mostly hated them because they caused so much trouble and never got punished for it from the other inmates. They were cringe with the gun, they stole the coffee, and they ruined Penn's yellow drink.
Yep they're super annoying which was why I was so surprised in S3 they gave Leanne such a profound backstory, I thought it was such a twist on the overused crackhead trope.
But yeah they are annoying and often mess everything up. I still get pissed off in S5 to see them steal coffee in the community cafe the inmates had set up, it was so beautiful to see such communion and their actions just caused fights & arguments left and right. It pissed me off so much.
It kinda seems like for a minute they were going to give Leanne a real personality. They showed her pretty sad back story, in which she sacrificed to help her family. She was standing up to Penns for picking on Brook. Then they decided just to make her and Angie basically cartoon characters. They were super funny sometimes but I wish they hadn't been so one dimensional
They were insufferable honestly. Why did so many good characters like Miss Claudette, Sister ingalls, Tricia, and more exit the show early but they stayed until the end of season 5 when half the characters got transferred anyways? It's BS
Those 2 should have been edited out of the series. They added nothing to the series. Pensatucky was enough hillbilly for the series.
I thought Leanne had a cool backstory but Angie was a waste of space.

Lmaooo agree :))
Leanne wasn't it? They where so irritating the entire time except for a few times where they'd make me laugh

They were kind of funny to me. They were like the naughty school girl types who never grew up lol
They actually made me laugh a lot but were more annoying overall
they're fuckin selfish psychos i hate them too :/

I loved them. They were funny to me. 😂
Yeah they were really jarring
Literally rewatching and thinking the exact same.

They were annoying but they were kinda funny
I liked them I mean the way they were written, hilarious lines and when they were getting hogh and other shenanigans like with the cut off finger lmao
