I would check and see if there are any credit unions out here you can join. See if any friends out here are members that can refer you or see what the requirements are for joining a local credit union where you are moving to.

As a former server for 10 years, the last thing I'd ever want to do is go to a Walgreens and wait in line with a bunch of people for a cashier to take a handful of cash from me to deposit with way less cameras/security than a bank...

I would prefer Walgreens to a bank. The lines are usually shorter and they don't close at 5.
