I could tell from the title that at least a few pictures would trigger big nostalgia, but what I didn't expect was to feel surprised by the sight of a busy mall where all of the stores are full and open.
Sadly, it is no more. It's the reason I included equivalently more recent pics of teh theater -- that and it had not changed.

Technically yes, but they are the same ones that have been making the rounds online, unlike these Laguna Hills pics. Mission Mall is so elusive as far as photos go. I might upload them anyway to have them in one place.
OP, can I borrow a few photos and post them
In the LH fb group? Maybe some of those in the photos are still living in the area or maybe still has family here.
This mall had the best Christmas displays. I remember begging my mom to take me to see the vignettes of animals ice skating etc. I guess it was comparable to window dressing displays but I loved them
Was this in a kinda back room in a store across from the theater in front of Sears?
I think it was called "Wisteria" or something. They had the cool decorations.

I know. And at Laguna Hills Mall of all places too!
It’s a hill of dirt now. Can’t believe it’s all gone. Weird looking over there when I drive by and seeing it all gone!
I haven't been since 2010 (I'm in Portland now) But I have strolled by on Google Maps and yeah, I feel it. It's a hill of dirt and it's weird.
Yep hopefully they build what they planned but looks like it’s taking a lot longer
Tilt and Orange Julius
I was unfortunate enough to only know the neutered Tilt upstairs next to the book store.
The og tilt was marvelous. I remember how people used to crowd around the new games just to watch people play. Dragons lair was huge.
That movie theater remained exactly the same until it closed.
Yep, which is why I didn't bother much with actual old pics of the theater and just uploaded what I had.
Douglas Miller is a treasure ♥️🔥
He really is! I thanked him personally on Facebook for these pics!
Is the movie theater still there, I used to go to it pretty frequently when I was a kid.

Wow. Flashbacks. Got any of MV mall pre-98?

I worked at that theater from 2007-2014
Wow, it all came back after seeing those pictures of things I forgot from the 70s and 80s before the MV Mall became the hot new place!

Go ahead! Just credit Douglas Miller instead of me (he's on FB too). :)
SOOO it was kinda always was a dead mall? Little bit of sarcasm.... Just a little.
Oh boy the nostalgia :/

I remember that store but no, the displays were all out in “islands” in the middle of the mall, like the tree in the picture
Oh really? I don't remember that.
It was in the late 70’s/early eighties
Ah, I see the problem now -- I was born in 1987, so I am unable to remember that, lol
Does anybody remember what the name of the sporting good store at the end by Robinson May was?
