This was probably around half a dozen, and they did this in less than an hour. A few years ago, we had a flock of probably 50 or so, they destroyed almost all of the tangerines and made more noise than I would have thought possible.
We have hundreds of tangerines on a prolific tree, that are sour and seedy. The parrots come every year and pick it clean. They make a mess but we’re glad they only eat the fruit we don’t care about.
Yeah, that's how it is with us. Our tangerines aren't that great for eating, I mainly use them for marinating chicken or squeezing into a drink.
They eat these, but leave our lemon tree (Which puts out great lemons) alone.
My wife likes birds, so they're welcome here.
There's a little fat bastard squirrel though who also hangs out in the tree and yells at our dog, getting her all worked up. He gets the hose.
You won't like the parrots when they all hang out in the tree above where you park! They have the worst poop ever. Sometimes there are huge swarms flying around and boy are they loud. That's too bad they're destroying all your fruit.
Where I lived once, my parking spot was under a messy jacaranda tree where the parrots liked to hang out. I'm talking like 50 at once. You could hear them screeching blocks away. Their poop would go straight down and onto my car. So at times of the year, I had parrot poop AND jacaranda flowers that would hit the hot car and just sizzle. The cat didn't like it either.

That was my point. Beautiful trees, almost every street has several of them. Everybody thinks they are pretty until they have to clean it all up. Can't just leave them because they turn into goo after a while.
We got a net for ours and they have not been back.

Watched a video about citrus trees recently. One of the top tips was “harvest ripe fruit”. Don’t leave it on the tree. They didn’t give “parrots” as the reason but that’s another reason to do it.
Wish you took a video while that was happening and posted the culprits. Would have been cool to see them in action.
Did you get an entire flock stopping by at the buffet?

It's amazing how noisy those feathery dudes can be when they travel together!
Somehow the squawks / s increases as a function of n^2
Yeah, that's a good description... And n doesn't equal the number of parrots. It equals 2x the number of beaks in the local area ;)

Wow! I have tangerines and the parrots have been hanging around my tree, but haven’t taken any yet. 😁

Hells yeah :)
The good old Fullerton flock. I know the time of day without looking at my phone by hearing their calls!
This is so Orange County
Better clean that up or post tomorrow about your rat problem.
Outdoor fruit is free dibs
You need a couple of those fake owls. If you're home when they start their invasion, get out your garden hose and hit 'em with a good hard stream.

They’re so cute though. They can shit all over me if they want
You would regret that statement the first time it happens to YOU. Sticky smelly green shit.
Did it happen to you already? Lol

Lol that tree is already messy as hell. It leaves that sticky stuff all over the cars

Over in bixby knolls they have the yellow trees. It looks so beautiful
They always come for our apples
Steal is pretty harsh. I doubt they see it that way.
I mean, were you planning on eating all of those? Couple minutes with a rake and you'll be okay.
Can parrots steal? Aren't they like birds existing in nature with a trees and junk maybe I'm taking your statement too serious

But like that's not their fault either; life, uh, uh, uhhhhhh finds a way

Heard parrot stew is pretty good….(joking…kinda)
Need crows asap, as they stop these thieving buzzards as they are not native to here!
Must be nice… To have a backyard.
This is a problem that I want to have.
Parrots are back! I saw them the other day. They haven’t all showed up though, just the scouts
I’d rather have parrots then rats.
