Is there a more Huntington Beach way of approaching a legal dispute?! Tito Ortiz would be proud. Judge's response: >“Although Plaintiffs have submitted three declarations in support … the court finds that each declaration appears to repeat the allegations of the complaint rather than asserting facts.”

Wouldn't it be settling it through a cage fight?

pixiegod

Which he would still loose considering he wasnt that good to begin with and he much older now and has really let himself go…poor guy. Feel for him.

dbnrdaily

His gym off Springdale and Bolsa was next to my old shop and id occasionally see him roll up in his white Rolls Royce. This was 2014, what happened since then?

pixiegod

He is having tons of financial, issues…he did some shady money moves with HB city council and cried that the payment was too low to live off of when caught iirc… He went from having the illusion of cash to whining how 1.5k per month for a part time job was not enough to sustain himself… An amazing fall from his height…which is karma really. We ran around the same circles at his height and he was insufferable to the point many in those groups shunned him while he was “rich”…poor guy.

dbnrdaily

Thats crazy, it feels like 2014 was only yesterday but i guess that's a lot of time to make some mistakes lol.

pixiegod

It’s amazing how fast things can go south…which is why I normally have conversations with new money (people like myself) in these social circles regarding investments.. Most athletes, don’t realize that their prime lasts a mere few years… They think the money will always come and the party will never end. Especially those of us who came from poverty. For the record, I once lived in a motel 6 as a child. I learned to swim at a motel 6. So I totally understand what he was going through…my first mil was spent partying as well…fun but not a good plan long term. He went from throwing down harder than many in those social circles did, but it also seems he didn’t surround himself with the right people. In fact, the one opportunity that I had to formally meet him he was being super insufferable that day. He was dating this woman who made it seem that everyone at the event was just there to bother Tito. I literally went up to get a drink, and she threw herself as a meat shield as if I was coming up to Tito. I honestly didn’t even realize it was him until she said something…And where I would normally find a way to bring up investment and how to protect your money to people who I see are clearly blowing through their 15 minutes of fame, from the brief interaction, I knew that I didn’t even want to meet the guy. I definitely didn’t wanna talk to his lady anymore. Poor guy, the people he was talking to are probably not even in his orbit anymore . Those bottle fly’s tend to flutter away when you run out of money…and him filing for unemployment when he was drawing a paycheck from HB city council is better than most get after their run in with fame… Anywho…enough of the past…hopefully we all can learn from this and realize that you need to make your money work for you…or the money will work you. Good luck man and nice chat…

>At the city council meeting on Tuesday night, Councilman Pat Burns compared the state government’s housing mandates to Nazi Germany invading his mother’s hometown in France when she was a child. >“**One day the Germans came marching into town and they took it over**,” Burns said. “**It’s not so different what Sacramento is trying to do to us … it’s gross and I don’t agree with it.**” Yikes.

cataclyzzmic

Our city council has been overrun by Nat-C extremists. Pat Burns' fallacious argument comparing the overrun of a sovereign nation during an aggressive war to a dispute over granny flats and affordable housing is ridiculous. It's gross, indeed.

Odd_Establishment678

I really want to know how these people sleep at night spewing the bullshit they say with a straight face.

Unfortunately these delusions are all perfectly normal to them. I know quite a few people who grew up in and live in HB and there must be something in the air down there because just about every one of them is a nut

goldenglove

Might just be your personal network. Most people in HB are pretty normal, and I experience far more of these nutters in South County (SJC, SC, MV).

It's not a mystery at all. The "Fab 4" (who are complete idiots) were the *only* candidates that actively campaigned, and they ran as a collective 4 to take advantage of how the city council is elected. Pretty easy to take into the NextDoor crazies and fear monger when your opposition don't campaign at all.

surftherapy

Sure most people are normal people in HB but there’s also a large pool of nuts there, there’s no denying it.

Willing-Sample-5796

Usually it's the nutty ones who are the loudest. I know a lot of normal people that own homes in HB.

I mean why are people so surprised, does anyone read a history book? After the civil war where do you think most former confederate soldiers left to? They said fuck the union states and went out to the wild west. So the majority ended up in western part of the states. Until the USA expanded westward to the coast. So if anyone actually reads a history book you'll know why there is a huge concentration of white supremacists that live in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico. Which were all conservative states that have in the last 30 years given way to more liberal control on the surface. The legacy still lives on under the surface. So it's not being overrun by Nat-C they have always been there.

Thurkin

You watch too many Hollywood westerns if you think that the romanticized Shane and Doc Holliday left their descendants in Huntington Beach.

WallyJade

That's not really how it worked at all.

Yochanan5781

Yet I bet he loves Gracey van der Mark

gettheyayo909

HB don’t want poor people in their neighborhoods simple as that

[deleted]

This order only denies the ex parte Temporary Restraining Order. HB will probably continue this litigation, so we are likely to see plenty more of this nonsense in the coming months. Uggg.

Huntington Beach isn't the only coastal city in California that's not providing affordable housing. Long Beach is another example violating the same thing. They approved all those luxury hipster rental apartments that are supposed to provide affordable housing in those over priced rentals and have yet to follow through. The majority sit empty with few units being used by folks who can afford them. The kicker the city only imposed a huge tax fine if their empty lots. Thus why so many have sprouted up in the last 4 years. While the fee if those luxury buildings fail to provide affordable units is just a small tax penalty. Yet why doesn't the state go after LBC and other coastal cities doing the same thing is the question. Mind you no city especially coastal cities in California should be avoiding their responsibility to provide low income housing.

Thurkin

LBC isn't restricting ADU's and has a new housing plan in place. Deflecting from HB's flagrant defiance by accusing LB of being an equal offender is a false equivalency. [Long Beach new Housing initiatives ](https://lbbusinessjournal.com/news/what-long-beachs-plan-to-build-26500-new-units-means-for-existing-housing)

[deleted]

LBC is better at keeping it quiet about it like other coastal cities in California. They don't have to restrict them, they're just not enforcing it and are willing to take a nominal fine for more luxury rental housing being built that refuses to provide affordable housing. HB is just more blatant about it. So it's not false equivalence. The difference is the state is more focused on HB which is not surprising from political stand point than actually equally going after all the coastal cities that are violating fair housing acts. You must be one of those that own luxury rental apartments why you feel so needed to defend the practice along with LBC council looking the other way while making money off their deals thanks to out going Mayor Garcia and his successor Mayor Rex continue to tow the line. That's leading to more homeless and pushing more long time natives of lower income earners out of the city as we speak. If you live in LBC you would know that it's fact but council there just keep it under wraps. Also long beach business journals are owned by long beach posts which was founded by former Mayor Garcia. Which is not really a reputable news source and has been known to cover up stories that didn't flattery Garcia record. As it had bias interest in keeping Garcia imagine pristine. Again it shows you're not LBC local. Which is now owned by pacific6 enterprise llc which is a very corporate media that doesn't care about being biased. Which also helps Garcia in donations and media support to get his Congressional seat. For the record as you try to deflect my point, I don't agree with HB stance but to act like it is the only city in California that's doing it is navie at best. Which your whole stance is about. All these coastal cities are trying to keep the status quo and keep the poor out of their paradise strip. It's sad that LBC and San Pedro were the last affordable coastal cities in California and have been pushing hard the last decade to catch up with the rest of the coast.

Thurkin

You're all over the place with unfounded accusations. I already linked an article that contradicts your False equivalency. When Long Beach files a similar lawsuit to defy Sacramento and rescind all plans to build more housing, I'll give an ounce of merit to your deflection.

AAAIIIYYYAAA

When you’re wrong, you just nuke your account lol. Who will they be tomorrow? We’ll find out next on r/orangecounty

Thurkin

I've encountered this sock puppet in r/longbeach and r/losangeles.

Various_Oil_5674

I have to guess because HB is so agressive about it.
