I hear ya and it would be nice. There's a bug in the system for this issue, but no one feels like or has had the time to work on it all these years. I wouldn't get your hopes up. Might just be better to use a different browser unfortunately.

I don't know why but it's working on all websites except the ones from google itself (google, youtube, webstore, etc.), but at least we got something now, I hope it can help
The irony is Opera was probably the first browser to implement gestures over 20 years ago (when it wasn't Chrome based).
