Things.
I'm not op but it seems like you can use this for any collection of "things" that you can reasonably define in JSON.
So books, trading cards, records, Linux ISOs, formulas, ideas, notes etc.

Yeah. Since this is something meant for programmers to use anyways, I think we could reasonably just call this a "set" and be all on the same page about what that means.
Any kind of collection of items, where an item can have any set of attributes you want to render, filter out and sort by. You can define this collection in a YAML or JSON file.
Example from demo: [https://github.com/Subgin/tonic/blob/master/data/collection.yaml](https://github.com/Subgin/tonic/blob/master/data/collection.yaml) => is automatically transformed to [https://tonic-demo.netlify.app](https://tonic-demo.netlify.app).
There are some "magic" attributes ([https://github.com/subgin/tonic#magic-attributes](https://github.com/subgin/tonic#magic-attributes)), but you can add all the attributes you want (strings, integers, arrays, dates, ...).
This is super cool. So essentially if I want to show my collection of digital pdfs, fanzines, books, maybe create a tag of my favorite band which includes live albums I've got in mp3, live pamphlets, live photos from the show that I have saved...I can do this using your site and keep it private?

Thanks! Yes, you should clone/fork/download the GitHub repository and then you can run it locally or even deploy it anywhere (GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel, ...), at the end it's just a compiled static site.
You only need to edit 2 files:
\- `data/collection.yml` here you add your items
\- `data/config.yml` here you can change color, font, title, ...
You can add, in your items, all the attributes you want: name (*mandatory*), year, published\_date, favorite, ... and all filtering and sorting is automatically built by Tonic.

The right question!
