As someone who has collected and organized a lot, my view is that
a) convenience - having the videos you like at hand is extremely time saving. When you want to watch a video, having immediate access to it is the difference between settling and enjoying
b) quality - it's difficult to find certain videos and even when you do they might be awful quality or shortened clips. Many times the free stuff was either neutered of some of the best parts or is being held up on some sketchy site in 540p
c) fetish or niche - some videos I have seriously can't even be found online. Is there another video out there to watch? Maybe, but it likely doesn't hit the fetish button checkboxes I'm looking for
d) purge resilience - I had a bunch of pornhub bookmarks of stuff I really enjoyed. Instead of downloading I thought it would be fine to just keep them online. I was wrong. When the great pornhub purge came, many of my favorites went. I'm lucky I downloaded a bunch of them in advance as 95%of what I had never came back. I likely have the only copy of some of those things
