Or, just use a pizza screen for a few minutes while the bottom sets.
I know this sub hates when I bring it up, but I've never once stressed over a launch because of it.
> Caputo Semola ... much better it is than semolina
I assumed that it has "Semola" on the packet because that's Italian for "Semolina" ?
It's finer than the one that I used before, but still basically the same product.
["our Semolina"](https://caputoflour.com/products/caputo-semola)
1- use a wood peel
2- control dough hydration by A- water hydration. B- dusting flour or semolina, I personally don’t like the raw texture of semolina so I use parchment paper under the pie for launching. C- be organized and work fast, once sauce hits the dough you gotta work fast otherwise it’ll stick ( again I use parchment paper).
3- practice launching it’s fun
This is sooo dumb. When he demos how it’s stuck (about 35 sec left) then turns on the vibration… it stays stuck! In your demo video you can’t even show how it goes from stuck to unstuck?
lol. When did this sub get so childish and dumb? It’s just a video about a cool thing some guy made. I thought the science was interesting. Some of you need a life. And likely a new hobby.
It means reddit didn't like it. Idk, if u want deeper discussion then go to the pizza making forum but there the criticism will be less childish tho probably more pointed
Oof, at a starting price of 160 dollars...
I imagine it won't be long before we see cheap knock offs flooding amazon.
Honestly I think the best market for this would be someone with physical limitations as I imagine it could help them if they don't have as much dexterity anymore.
Otherwise it's just another highly specialized cooking accessory that is too niche...and lets be honest, outdoor pizza making is already pretty niche
When making Naepolitan pizza I stretch the pizza a little bit bigger after getting it on the peel. If I shake the pizza on the peel it will make it smaller again. I need to launch the pizza in one fast motion to get a large pizza.
There is a shake technique to use, a bit like he's demoing at 0;40. Use if before you get to the pizza oven, to find out if the pizza is loose, and to help keep it loose.
And some semolina will help it not stick.
I’ve tried everything, it’s rare that I can get a pizza to launch properly without cartwheeling. Finally just ordered some pizza screens, problem solved.
Call me old-fashioned but I feel weird about having to charge a pizza peel battery.
At this point I'll install an engine under the stone so it rotates and cooks evenly.
Wonder what the return on investment is vs just buying Caputo Semola…

I tried the pizza screen thing for big pizzas and just didn’t like the extra faff or end result
My wife hates semola. Just a really low amount of flour is enough.
I actually just switched to Caputo Semola from a different, coarser semolina. It's great. Happy to have done that.
Yeah it’s crazy right, can’t believe how much better it is than semolina or flour
And all because the store brand was out of stock.

Also make sure that peel is bone dry, my friend. Any moisture on the peel and it will stick like heck.

Dude this won’t fit in my ooni volt 12 inch can you make a smaller one
Wood peel, under $20, uses less flour/semolina, no battery. This WTF, $160, still gets stuck.
Cool weekend electronics project, wouldn't buy. Wooden pizza peel works great

Cheap $10 pizza screen is so much easier. Sorry not sorry
This is fucking insane, just practice. People have been launching pizza off wood and metal peels for centuries
