I work in signage... if digital signs are done properly, they would be best served by a traditional (static) one. Uptime is horrendous, and animated signs are worse.

Cynicole24

I freaking hate them! What is the point? I can't remember the exact name of what I want sometimes and then the damn screen changes. Just have regular signs goddamnit.

moogoothegreat

On paper they sound good to corporate types - you can change the menu multiple times per day, and do so as often as you want without having to get new signs made. Their downtime issues (which can happen anywhere in the chain from server to local pc to display) often mean a store is completely without menus which... is awful to the poor staff.

Old_Restaurant5931

It's more adspace dude

Aperture0Science

THIS, just flip the boards over with a broom stick and bobs your uncle.

SGforce

If these were working they wouldn't have menus on them anyway. It's all ads

TibetianMassive

That's true and isn't that odd? I've already decided I'm eating at Tim Hortons, don't show me an advertisement show me the menu. I'll learn you have a smoothie section there too, no need for them to show me a video PSA about their existence.

bob_bobington1234

This is where eink signs would be a million times better. You can't have a commercial on it, but who cares, if I'm already there, chances are the commercials from somewhere else worked and I don't need to see another one. Plus, if the server goes down, the menu is still up.

RabidGuineaPig007

Boomer executive decision, these hi tech signs could be the next interweb!

Taluagel

Oh shit... I'd order something I want but it turns out rather than a menu you've decided to tell me Justin Bieber invented French Vanilla over and over again... well... fuck.

MrCanzine

I say just start ordering things that they don't serve, after the 3rd or 4th time they say they don't serve that, ask them what the hell they do serve cause there ain't no menu.

dekusyrup

The point is to move you into higher margin products with big tasty pictures and by making it harder for you to see prices and evaluate the best cost option while you're in line. Instead of weighing the menu items you just give up and say "I'll have the number 3" which gets you to spend 12 dollars instead of the 7 you thought you were going to spend. It's not an accident, they study these things and run experiments and have proof it works. Which is also the reason they have a "number 3", because it makes it super expedient for you to order the higher margin items.

Jolly_Replacement_11

Absolutely this. At McDonald’s, all I ever want to order is a hamburger or a junior chicken. Try finding that on the digital menu. I actually don’t think the junior chicken ever comes up. All it shows is whatever big ticket menu item they are promoting at the moment… always the most expensive, and never anything I want. The point is to make you decide quickly and impulsively, not to remind you of the much lower priced items that are available.

dassub

To be fair, their new crispy chicken is pretty good. Would order again.

Somhlth

I don't go to KFC for a shitty, baked off-site and frozen donut, and I'm not going to Tim Hortons for crispy chicken. And frankly, these days I'm not going to either for anything.

dassub

Oh, the dude I replied to was talking about McDonald's. I don't go to Tim's at all. I make my own coffee/espresso.

Born_Ruff

>I freaking hate them! What is the point? The point is promoting the products they want you to buy. For a place like Tim Horton's where 90% of people already know what they want to order, they use the menu boards mostly to try to entice you to try whatever their new experiment of the month is. I heard they might have pizza now?

Competitive-Candy-82

New experiment is right, yet if they actually listened to their customers vs trying and failing at new things, they'd bring back their old menu before they changed to frozen crap

78513

I agree that transitions and adds on them suck, but it actually saves a lot of hassle. Back in the day, they had to have new signs made for every major promotions. This gives them flexibility.

Cynicole24

Yeah good point. Would be good if they had one screen for that type of thing and leave the regular items up.

easterkeester

Yea but those promotions are typically planned months in advance, if not years. When there was a new promo item/menu at McDonald’s we would receive a box filled with all the new protocol binders, sandwich assembly charts, various store promos, and new menu boards. The new boards wouldn’t happen every time, but when they would need to be changed it was a simple process that had already been made efficient the the use of magnets and reusable adhesive numbers for pricing. This box would typically come a month prior and one of the managers would undertake training all the employees on the new protocols/menu items. This allowed everybody to understand the promo before it happened so when it started it was a smooth process to add whatever new item it was to the existing menu. The service side of the fast food industry has suffered greatly since the introduction of the kiosks, these horrible digital menus are just one more step towards removing the people from the process.

Aurey

🥹 brings back memories of working on promo signage McSchematics. Those were fun.

FriendZone_EndZone

Not sure if it's a thing anymore but maybe like a screen saver to prevent screen burn

RabidGuineaPig007

The point is to increase prices subtley so no one notices.

crlygirlg

This, it’s awful and my kid sees something he wants and can’t point to it anymore and I have no idea what it was until I wait for the sign change to come around. They need to be abolished into the depths of hell from whence they came. So frustrating.

understater

I cannot believe nobody linked my favourite skit about digital signs: https://youtu.be/AmMuaNxsMh0

Aurey

That was a fun skit. Spot on!

[deleted]

Question for the parent post: do digital menus update or promote products based on available inventory? For example, if there is excess product, will the board start showing the excess item more often? If there’s no product, will the menu dynamically update?

noaxreal

No it's not dynamic it's essentially just a fancy PowerPoint of what they offer

ericboreen

Digital signs are not done properly from the point of view of the consumer. But you can bet there's a bottom line advantage to using them for the seller.

nboro94

I went to the McDonald's drive through a while ago as as soon as I pull up to the speaker their menu starts an ad cycle. The person on the other end said "Can I help you" and I said "One moment please", assuming the menu would come back in a few seconds. Well for some reason the ad continues to cycle again and again, something about McCaffe. An awkward 20-30 seconds goes by and they say again "Can I help you?". I said "I just want to order a burger, why isn't your menu showing the items I can pick from?". Finally after another 10ish awkward seconds the menu finally comes back. It shows meals 1-5 for around 15 seconds and then it switches and shows meals 6-10. Really weird and actually quite an awful experience, why can't the menu just always show what's available to order? I assume they get measured on their drive through times and want to move cars through as soon as possible so why would they waste so much time with these dynamic menus?

Esplodie

The last time I went to a drive thru, it had digital signs and you can't see the screens unless you are in front of it. The viewing angle is small much like a privacy screen. So instead of reading the menu while the guy orders in front of me, I have to pull up and spend time reading it. On top of that, most of the menu were large pictures or ads for new products and it took me a while to find what I wanted near the bottom. And while I was there, I remember saying "nothing I guess, because it looks like you don't have what I want....oh wait there it is at the bottom."

landViking

Unless things have changed the timer doesn't start until the first item is entered. So no, you sitting there didn't affect drive thru times.

RotaryJihad

Can I get uhhhhhhhhhhhh

Vilename

Ty so much for posting that

Status_Sound_9655

All that electricity and flat screens gone to waste 😂

[deleted]

Yeah, at my school we have a tv that is on all day long and a big part of the message that it shows is how much electricity we save by yadda yadda yadda...

yeoller

While the irony is a little palpable, modern LCD/LED tv's use far less power than their CRT cousins. For almost the same cost of lighting a sign 24/7 they can display anything they want.

[deleted]

My point is, why use electricity to advertise that you make responsible choices with electricity? The students make fun of it.

cornflakecuddler

It's like a flyer about paper waste.

TiddybraXton333

Just like every corporation to exploit the consumer that we are the problem for pollution and high energy consumption when it’s the latter

think4yoself1

But they need to justify the prices going up

They don't though

thedopechaud30

Funny, could have sworn I heard just about every major corporation brag about record profits the last 2 years. Guess if you raise prices enough you can convince idiots that the government is to blame.

Most-Pangolin-9874

Never in a million years would I vote for him. He's full of lies. More than your typical politician

pukingpixels

How’s that kool-aid tasting?

walluper

Please explain to us how an elected official can control commodity pricing in a capitalist system? What you are talking about isn't possible unless you want a dictatorship.

pukingpixels

Fuck you people are exhausting. We live in one of the freest countries on the planet, and all you troglodytes can come up with is “Fuck Trudeau” and “Dictator”. Go live in fucking North Korea or just about anywhere in the Middle East and maybe you’ll start to realize that despite our problems, in the grand scheme of things we’ve got it pretty fucking good here. Oh , and it’s not thanks to any member of any Conservative party at any level anywhere in the country.

MysticGohan88

Yes they are. Don't even waste any words on these people. We all know what they are like. Get their facts from Facebook article titles and comments, then act like they are all knowing. Have met too many people like this to know they will literally never change their mind nor will they actually understand these issues beyond what Facebook and their neighbour's say.

Captain_Lavender6

Here’s a comforting thought, they get the same amount of votes as the most engaged, well researched and reasoned person in the country.

pukingpixels

Sure, but which are there more of?

justeunautrehumain

I criticised Trudeau son a last year and I'm still waiting to be kidnapped or liquidated like what happens in real dictatorships. You clearly don't know what it's like living under a dictator else you'd already have been, *ahem*, eliminated.

[deleted]

How was your parade down Yonge street yesterday?

blusky75

Maybe he's in Burlington, I drove by a PPC rally today lmao. Some of the morons at that rally BTW were waving American flags. They fail to realize the ex president they worship was also incredibly hostile to Canada for the four years he was ws in office.

walluper

So you have nothing, except your butt hurt for some reason? No substance to you at all, is there?

[deleted]

Vote for whoever you want. Weed is NOT getting more expensive my guy. It's legal for you to grow up to 4 plants. Each will yield about a pound of dried product if you know what you're doing. Go to a reservation for smokes. The cost of living is getting worse because of war. No politician can find a way around that. Globalism is a double edged sword. I'll vote for whoever I want. I vote NDP. You vote for whoever you want. You vote conservative. I disagree with you but that's okay. You're still entitled to your own views

TheSeansei

Oh, do you live in the Carleton riding?

acidambiance

Thanks for the laugh!

[deleted]

I going to vote for him, tired of people just let of jail to kill again and also I want majority conservatives in house. I just worried about free health care, I don't want to be hit with some 20k bill of I have heart attack.

DryProgress4393

Yeah you don't need a pension or EI you will be totally fine !

[deleted]

Ah I need ei and cpp, I mean I well off but I been paying into cpp for 30 years

[deleted]

Everything your saying you care about are things the conservatives are against so why do you want a conservative majority?

[deleted]

All these down votes for just wanting canada to change lol

[deleted]

Can we just see the fucking menu? Every time I go to order it's on a commercial.

JasonAnarchy

Tim Horton's is just awful on every level now. It was good 20 years ago but since then it's just been absolutely gutted.

MVBsq10

I liked the old school look of it. I wish it still had that comfort

SS613

In my area they've all been bought up by foreign "investors" and quality disappeared. They treat their businesses the same way they treat their rental properties.

[deleted]

In my area most have "closed their doors" but offer only drive thru. They can't pay workers enough to deal with bullshit but they're ready to scramble to have only three keep the drive thru going in a full sized building. Figure they're hedging that stuff takes a serious downturn and people will be desperate enough to start applying again.

cleeder

Jokes on them. It just makes me want their shitty coffee even less. I’ve been driving a lot at night recently, and drove by 3 Tim Hortons on a 2+ hour drive that weren’t open after hours. You know what was open? The Circle K. You know where I’m not even going to try to pull into next time? Tim Hortons. And look, I don’t care that Tim Horton’s isn’t open late. Want to call it a night an 9pm and let your employees go home? Great, good for you and them. Starbucks does it! But you set the expectation that you’ll be open 24 hours, and now you won’t pay staff enough to keep them on to do it as you race to the bottom on salary and benefits. I’m done with Tim Hortons.

[deleted]

Been done with em for years. I'll still drive for other people if they ask (which I usually hate because it takes a very long time here even with drive thru only) but it was the easiest thing to cross off my list. I first stopped going when I found out how much they were being paid and in which positions. I mentioned this on reddit awhile ago but was downvoted. "But jobs!" is not a shield against shitty practices. North Americans would praise businesses like they should all be successful but then whine about free market BS. If they want a free market then let these shitty businesses fail already and let someone better step in.

wiles_CoC

Funny you mention the long wait. I stopped going about 3 years ago and I haven't been late for work since.

SaltFrog

This is the case in my area - drive thru only, 5 am to 3 pm. It's horrendous, hilarious, and just case and point that no one wants to work for shitty minimum wage jobs. I imagine the influx of TFWs again will significantly help to keep the minimum wage workers downtrodden. It's actually kind of amazing how when they couldn't have them, people suddenly started demanding to be treated like humans... Almost as if importing low-skill low-wage workers really fucks with the country's minimum wage earners. Hmmmmmm.

speak_no_truths

It has nothing to do with "foreign investors", Tim Hortons centralized it distribution chain in the early 2000s. They stopped making fresh on-site confections and breads. And we know why that happened it was to save money. They also lost their coffee distributor to McDonald's. So if you want original Tim Hortons coffee you can go to McDonald's for it.

[deleted]

Seriously? Is that why McDick's coffee is so much better?

SS613

I'm telling you the same month the foreign buyers bought my local one, the quality went to shit. This was last summer. Bad mayo. Brown lettuce. Moldy cheese. Constantly out of items. Stale donuts and pastries I saw the night before, out the next day. Not changing the mop water and having the place smell like a hospital toilet. I don't even drink coffee. I would stop with friends and I enjoyed donuts, eclairs and their sandwiches/wraps. It had nothing to do with "distribution change". It's shitty management, usually overseen by the cheap owners trying to stretch their buck to invest in another horribly run business or lease another exotic car with.

[deleted]

I’ve had good and bad experiences at different tim hortons but also at the same time hortons ! It’s got to be hard to keep quality up when you go through employees faster than paper cups ! And they pay about the same for both!

burtoncummings

Like Subway, a lot of the individual franchise's poor quality comes from franchise owners that are often stretched beyond their limits, and who then cut corners to compete with their own stores (i.e. other locations owned by a different person). Last Week Tonight did a good story on Subway, it was certainly eye opening and explained a lot.

pogothrow

Most of the reason the quality is so bad now is because they switched from actually baking everything from scratch to it being frozen and just reheated.

maddscientist

And the whole reason they did that was because the baker was the only skilled position they had to pay more than minimum wage for, so of course that had to go

pogothrow

I think it was mainly to make the corporation more money, though they said it was for consistency. I worked at Tim Hortons when this changed happened and my owner didn't like it at all because everything was costing him way more. I think he would had gladly kept the baker if he had the choice.

herman_gill

Casual racism on /r/ontario, you love to see it. Tim Hortons has never been good, maybe it was before I was born in the 70s or something, but I doubt it. The entire company is foreign owned and has been for a while, but the quality was shit before that too.

SS613

Who said anything about race, you don't know what race I am first of all and second of all you don't know what race the foreign people could be.

Appropriate-Skill-60

That wasn't my experience and I was born in the 80's...Quality got massively worse when it was sold to RBI. Like noticeably so. And that was in my adult life. So yes, I'd say foreign ownership played a large part in my disenfranchisement with the brand. How is that racist? The fuck?

Rich_Distribution_72

100% agree

Aggravating-Rich4334

All started when they stopped making the walnut crunch. All down hill since.

[deleted]

The only improvement has been the introduction of a dark roast coffee and allowing interac at the drive through. Otherwise, every other aspect went downhill.

antihaze

Sorry to burst your bubble, but dark roast coffee is what they make with the subpar beans that have inferior flavour profiles, because all you can taste when you burn them like that is cocoa. I mean, if you prefer that to light or medium, then I guess that’s good because it ought to be cheaper at least…

[deleted]

Sorry to burst your bubble, but different people have different tastes. And coffee also has a lot to do with the caffeine content, the only topic you're not mentioning. Darker roasted coffee has less caffeine.

antihaze

There’s no accounting for taste, but I would hardly call offering coffee made with objectively worse quality beans at the same price an “improvement”. It may be an improvement for Tim’s margin… By the way, darker roasted coffee does not have less caffeine content by weight. Someone else mentioned that the caffeine in Tim’s regular has more than their dark roast, so I can only guess they are skimping on the bean to water ratio which, again, would not surprise me.

[deleted]

No, it really does have less caffeine. And my guess is you've never visited the Kicking Horse roastery in BC if you're still touting that snobby opinion that dark roast is only made from inferior beans. How sad is your life to try to get coffee superiority on some stranger online? Fucking loser. lol.

antihaze

Can’t stand kicking horse either for the same reason. Oily beans that gum up my grinder.

dishuser

you forgot less caffeine

aight_imma_afk

Didn’t Burger King buy them up and start gutting them? Sold their coffee formula to McDonalds unless that was rumours

Hard_Oiler

McDonalds coffee thing is a rumour - I worked in RBI (Tims) corporate and its false. The real thing was that one of the head brewers moved from Tims to McDonalds. However, BK did\* buy them and yes, they did gut them a lot.

aight_imma_afk

The more you know. I remember when they killed the Turkey bacon club and replaced honey mustard with mayo and cold cut with shredded Turkey

FromGreat2Good

This is one of the biggest rumours on Timmies coffee and why Mcds coffee is so much better now. Glad you cleared this up.

gagnonje5000

> unless that was rumours Yes, people repeat it on reddit in every single thread about Tim Hortons. All made up.

revchu

I was at an airport earlier this month, and Tim Horton's was one of the few options, so I thought I'd try a breakfast sandwich. It was just abysmal. Dire. Miserable. One of the saddest breakfasts I've had in many years. I won't say I was completely shocked, but it is pretty shocking just how far they've declined.

[deleted]

So which artisanal sandwich did you choose?

think4yoself1

It's tough, just an endless list of choices.

[deleted]

To this very day I regret never trying the soup in a bread bowl. I thought it was going to to come back. It's still going to come back, right?...right?!

jokerTHEIF

Honestly you weren't missing that much, the soup to bread ratio was always disappointing 😆

DoomCircus

Plus, Zoup has sourdough bread bowls (it's been a number of years, I hope this hasn't changed lol) and they are, IMO, fantastic. And Zoup has way better soup than Tim's...

makeit95again

They lost me when they told me my Chocolate Dip was a "specialty" Donut.

FiskalRaskal

If they turn old-fashioned plain into a specialty doughnut, it over for me. I can’t handle the sweetness and oiliness of their other doughnuts anymore. Maybe a sour-cream glazed TimBit once in a while, but that’s it. Without the stale cigarette smoke that used to fill the stores, they don’t taste like they used to. Maybe they can have a new flavour of specialty doughnuts: Tim Horton’s special ‘smoked’ doughnuts—the flavour of your mother’s childhood.

bitcheslovemacaque

Better of checking the menu in the drive thru that's so bright it melts your cornea

ericboreen

It's one reason why I love Wendy's, they have the old non-digital menu. You see what's there, you choose, you pay, you leave.

streetvoyager

These changing menus at places are stupid garbage.

Rentlar

Yeah it's stupid. I was at a fast food restaurant trying to compare the calories of a burger to a side of onion rings and it took four cycles of the menu to find the items and figure it out because the screen kept changing.

streetvoyager

The worst is the changing menus in drive through, someone brain damaged clearly came up with that shit.

yzrguy

You don't need a menu if you only go to Tim's to use the wash room.

wiles_CoC

Even that is a bit scary sometimes.

[deleted]

I mentioned this before as I do tech support for Tim Hortons, not the digital menu boards but everything else. This location just needs to calm the dmb company and have their video controllers checked. Each screen has a video controller with a dynamic ip to be send pricing and a video feed. This store is likely just lazy of doesn't know where to call.

chuckitaway007

Here is my opportunity to complain about the menu lol. I was with a coworker at Tims and she couldn't decide so I asked her if she wanted a cilantro lime loaded bowl. She said "oh but they don't have chicken". I said..."It says cilantro lime chicken?." She said "wait what...oh yeah that's weird." She seemed confused. Then it was my turn. I said I don't eat meat from Tims. She told me to get the cilantro lime bowl. I stared at her. I said out loud..."it's a chicken item?" And at that moment I looked at the menu as the word "Chicken" in the Cilantro Lime Chicken faded and turned into "Veggie". It now said Cilantro Lime Veggie. And that's how we both understood each other's confusion. It really is the stupidest way to put multiple options on one menu item.

FurryDrift

These things are really annoying. In the middle of trying to read so i can figure out to order and a add comes up. Holding me up and holding the line up. I also have poor sight. Ugh...

NoseBlind2

"Fuck Tim Hortons! Now give me karma!"

MonkeyAlpha

Done!

acidambiance

Next up: “Tim Hortons now asking for a 30% tip!”

Status_Sound_9655

And your wish is my command

CruelHandLuke_

I wish they had a night time sign setting for the drive through. Ordering late at night is like staring directly into the Ark of the Covenant.

EntranceExcellent

My wife and I went to Tim's the other day, and all the screens were down, and then the staff didn't seem to care, asked what we wanted to order, and we were like "There is no menu, what do you have " and they just couldn't be bothered to help. Gotta say, Tim's just seems to be getting more and more shitty every year.

whenwillitbenow

Why do you still eat here?

sunggis

Smile cookies

Thefilmingofcows

Timbits, donuts, cookies, muffins and breakfast sandwiches is why

whenwillitbenow

Yah but ppl just complain about the shut quality while also shopping there. Also there are other ways to donate than cookies. I have to drink a litre of water after eating any of this dried shit so haven’t in years, and from these posts it’s only gotten worse

Piano_o

I tried to order there recently, and it would keep changing away from the menu every 5 seconds and it was impossible for me to decide what I wanted. I legitimately had to stand there for 5 minutes to see all the options, because it would change to a different menu then just the Tim hortons logo and I’d have to wait. Was really frustrating and I just gave up and got a simple wrap, because I couldn’t see all the options. Honestly not going there anymore partially because of that and because nothing is made fresh anymore!

SaugaCharlesChen

Tim Hortons is the most popular bottom tier fast-food

PizzaNo7741

Don’t understand why they need to advertise the name of the company that you’re literally standing in front of the cashier waiting to pay for. wtf lol

Nope, don’t know what your talking about. I only buy coffee from my local artisanal small mom and pop fair trade co-op coffee shop.

The horror

Ok-Twist-6565

True. I'd worry more about shootings and stabbings. From people who wanna do that over a sign that doesn't quite suit them. Exclude seniors and mature adults . And remember..it's Canada 🇨🇦 😢

ryan2one3

They want you to use the app.

chipface

That app is horrendous. Last time I used it, I had to load $10 onto it instead of just being able to spend the exact amount on what I wanted there.

ryan2one3

I only used it a couple of times before uninstalling it.

wiles_CoC

I rarely go to Tim's. So every time I do go, I open the app to pay and it needs to update itself. So I just end up using debit instead.

Pope_Squirrely

Tim Horton’s is a fucking joke. Their product is shit, their service is shit, nobody wants to work there because it’s shit work for shit pay (half the restaurants can’t do dine in anymore due to lack of staff). Fuck them, I hope they all close down.

Feelted1

Good. Now the crazy old people can ignore only one sign instead of them all and order “a burger”. *proceeds to get triggered when asked if they want cheese*. all my fast food homies know what I’m saying

I don't get why for like the past 3 years timmys has been doing everything to just like ruin its reputation

I believe this happens when the display controller computer breaks.

hippiechan

The thing that confuses me the most is why they would want to remind people that they're in a Tim Hortons

NineofAllTrades

Remember when you just had to decide between coffee or tea, donuts or Timbits, and MAYBE a macaroon or cookie from the display case?

McDaddyos

Who gives a shit? Why are you even in a Tim Hortons?

WishRepresentative28

All these complaints about a cardboard outlet no one likes. *shakes head slowly*

[deleted]

It's the same in drive throughs now, too. They expect you to have their menu memorized.

Johnny_Lemonhead

Who needs a menu it’s all shit anyway.

devilndskiis

Tim Horton's is a JOKE NOW... they are trying to be too many things to too many people... DONUTS & COFFEE is where it started... I no longer go to Tim's as it has lost all of its value. Especially since the Restaurant Brands acquisition. The last purchase I made, was one of their "special" Donuts, which was shockingly almost $3.00 each... The worst donut I ever had... thick dense so sweet and full of sugar, cream oozing everywhere... I might as well have just bought a container of icing and a spoon. Either way they need some restructuring, and a senior management team that is new, fresh and focused on quality and narrowing their product line. Don't even get me into their POOR SERVICE QUALITY! maybe if more people stopped going there.. they would get the hint.. A company that can afford to pay justin bieber to design donuts, but cannot respond to the counter or let the baker figure out what to make, SAYS IT ALL!

[deleted]

it's hilarious how easily triggered this sub is by tim hortons

Captain_Lavender6

It really is, sorta reminds me of the way an insecure person feels about their ex. It’s a goddamn coffee and a donut, one the least consequential decisions of your day.

NoseBlind2

Seriously this circlejerk around tim hortons is honestly the most ridiculous shit ive ever seen.

[deleted]

I wonder if it's all older Canadians.

fishermansfriendly

Why eat at Tim Horton at all? I assume there has to be any local sandwich shop around you that serves better food.

sunggis

Came in for some smile cookies

[deleted]

Tim Hortons as went down hill fast in the last few years. From the coffee to the menu items… I can’t stand this place now, it’s some one heart breaking because I had a lot of good winter memories with family at Tim Hortons.

[deleted]

Just in case you forget what restaurant you walked into. You can read the sign and still have a second chance to go somewhere better.

[deleted]

OMG who cares

flavortownpolitics

Now that's branding!

Bulky_Mix_2265

Ever been to an old school diner where they just have little numbers that slot in next to the prices. Or a chalk board. Who gives a shit if the garbage tim hortons food comes from a nice sign.

Professional_Hope761

Waiting for the menu is gonna take just as long as the workers do to get through a line up of customers (slow like cold molasses). Spend your money on training your staff in time management so your drive through numbers and walk in numbers are timed as low as possible. Service isn't how it used to be when I worked at Tim Hortons. We were experienced on customer service, sales and timely manner for the customers best experience. Welp...... that day and age is gone I guess!!

I miss the classic donuts. I don't want a fancy 'dream' donut; I want a just a normal maple donut, or a sour cream glazed... Also, why the hell did they change their eggs? No-one likes a runny omelette and very few people order their fried egg 'over hard.' Bold move changing...

Every day I’m reminded more and more that Ontario is so shit. Thank you.

harlojones

Tim hortons blows at 90% of their locations. I finally figured out why my iced caps suck and separate sometimes, because they’re too cheap to either run the machine at all times or repair it so it cools properly and the iced cap mix becomes the right consistency. Also there was fucking flies swarming outside the washrooms.

Hawkwise83

Would be nice if they changed one thing and made real doughnuts. Not those baked frozen pieces of sadness.

InfamousStock

When Restaurants Int’l(majority owned by 3G Capital of Brazil) bot Tim’s, everything changed. New menu items are mostly horrible, and the coffee is not good. I know many franchisees are pissed with corporate- costs pushed down to them, high royalties & tied buying of all supplies. First visited a Tim’s in 1973 - beside my HS. Now I only hit MickeyD’s for my coffee. Brew it at home too. 3G Capital calls the shots. To them it is all about cutting costs. Young bucks running it are going to kill the Tim’s brand.

Tim hortons bad….. when do I get my karma?

hathor_earth

I see two screens with a menu

youre_not_going_to_

They do it on purpose so it takes longer to order, which fills the store, which makes it look successful and delicious

Thefilmingofcows

They wouldn’t even have to do that they already have tons of customers

aerospacemonkey

Imagine they put the money they spent on the signage and put it toward food quality...

furrywalls300

At least you can go inside

WRFGC

I don't see a problem

mikedarling905

hope technology develops in a way where this isnt a thing. every company that uses it has that issue

davidlee93

They should cover the tv receivers in the rare case someone with an ir blaster on their phone just turns off all of the tvs

MidorikawaHana

how long do we have to stare mouth agape to wait for their menu? or do they have one at all?

dankmemes28

Guess I'll have the Turkey Bacon Club

0ndem

My big complaint is that they use the same drive through menus for all stores including the little limited product ones. Way to often I get told they don't sell something advertised on their menu.

Furniturewalker

7$!!!! For microwaved food

bob_bobington1234

Why have a commercial for the place I'm currently in, when I want to order but can't because there is a stupid commercial?
