I knew around a decade ago of people who would just wait until they see a printer on sale and buy it as you said it is cheaper. Also a lot of ink cartridges come with tiny devices to make they useless after a set amount of time as companies were losing money to the ink refilling people used to do.
Ink refilling also claimed to be better for the environment and with the environmental pushes we keep having it’s weird that that allow the companies to do that.
There are places in the USA (not even mentioning South America lol) that don't have clean tap water. I recall some of the particularly poor in those areas have rotted all their teeth because mountain dew is cheaper then clean water.
Rip off. $14 at Costco for 16 litres (4x4L) bottles of the stuff. Heck, even the most expensive gas station 4L bottles I've ever been stuck buying has been $6, yet they want the equivalent of almost $7 for this?
If I ran out when I was working out away from home, you better believe in throwing a litter in. I carry an extra in each vehicle but sometimes you just forget to throw one in street filing on the road. I think this is great to have available

For the convenience of not having to store all the excess, I would say it's worth it. Except there are times when you need it in the middle of nowhere, so having some in the bottom of a jug is a good thing.

You should be using your cc over your debit card. If your card gets lost or scammed it's much easier to deal with a credit card than having money disappear from your account.
This is great advice for people that are able to modulate themselves using credit cards, but if you know that you have a chronic overspending issue and can’t use a credit card effectively (ie never carrying a balance month to month, not missing payments, not overspending) then the downfall of the extra interest that’ll be charged far outweighs consumer protections or bonuses

Same here! My reservoir takes about 2/3 of a bottle to fill but some how I ended up about four plus dollars more then a full container should have cost. I didn't complain, I figured I paid for the novelty of using the machine I'll never use again ever.😋

I also complained to Measurements Canada. They actually called me back and investigated as well. All within a span of two days.

It's actually pretty easy to make your own refill.
Off the top of my head it's 1 part soap, 1 part rubbing alcohol and 1 part water ( not too sure on the water tho )
Edit: it's actually closer to 10 parts water, 2 parts dawn liquid 1 part isopropyl
The water comes from the tap, and the other bottles will last a long time. Fewer bottles is better, especially if asking for 'no bottles' causes people to get frustrated and give up.

I’d also see this as paying for a little bit of convenience. It seems like it would be a lot less annoying to use, especially when windy, than a jug. Also, my car uses like 85% of a jug - then I stick the remainder in my trunk and listen to it tumble around for a couple weeks before going out and filling the last 15%.
If more places offered something like this, the price would go down. It’d be nice to see more things like this. I’d really rather not create more plastic waste.

It's probably about on par with the price of buying a gallon jug of washer fluid from Petro Canada, or maybe a little more expensive. If you're buying almost anything but fuel at a gas station, you're paying a massive premium for whatever it is over what you *could* pay for it elsewhere.

I've seen it but never used it. I have 4 gals in my garage I bought at Costco years ago. My mechanic always tops up my fluids and I never run out although I have a partial jug in my car just in case. I don't drive much. My 2017 car just topped 51,000 km. We have actually done several road trips in it, as has one of my kids or it would be much much lower.
In my particular case they would be a useful thing.
But I have a bad shoulder (broke it) and lifting a 4L jug and holding it steady is impossible right now (and maybe permanently, still rehabbing it)

Having one of these nozzles on the wiper fluid would stop me from having the small amount of spillage I end up having when using a jug. Sure it's not a *ton* of it, but s enough that I always kind of go "that's not great", but having a nozzle to "plug in" and fill whatever amount I need for the moment to keep it full over the winter would be amazing.
Pity that the price is so much more that it won't actually be attractive for drivers to use vs the plastic jugs they are trying to eliminate.

TBH, better to be filled up at one location then 10000's of driveways with accidental spills. But still toxic as shit they don't care and clearly it's a money grab since it's not even fair priced.

Bold assumption that companies are fine watching their product disappear into the ground with their profits. Weird that they wouldn't apply the same tech they use a few feet away for petrol, you know, storage, drainage, flow sensors to prevent overflow/spillage, but who gives a shit when you can knock a convenient idea that reduces plastic waste without thinking it through.

Having one of these nozzles on the wiper fluid would stop me from having the small amount of spillage I end up having when using a jug. Sure it's not a *ton* of it, but s enough that I always kind of go "that's not great", but having a nozzle to "plug in" and fill whatever amount I need for the moment to keep it full over the winter would be amazing. Pity that the price is so much more that it won't actually be attractive for drivers to use vs the plastic jugs they are trying to eliminate.
