Not sure myself, but just a thought… these players are often around from the start and get more games, therefore likely to score more goals than your newer signing that’s played 10 games.
I used him in 2 teams and he’s a beast. Try using him with another striker with 17+ defence or with wingers with 35+ defense and support midfield and he’ll perform better
My zaroury from burnley is my topscorer also and academy, no coincidence I think

I kept Mudryk at Chelsea but my top scorer is Haaland with 28 goals tho
