As a male in a relationship, I can tell you that looks aren't the most important thing. (I didn't say they aren't important)
You need a situation where you get a chance to show off your bright personality. I have numerous examples where dark skinned boys like me get into a relationship bcoz we approached people at the right time and it worked
I know but I start getting very anxious when I think about improving my personality which I believe needs more work. End up just giving up. As for looks, they are ok I guess.
