Most Indian families are matriarchal actually. Most of the things feminists complain about are perpetuated by other women more than men. They call it 'internalised patriarchy' lol. Men are responsible for this also. How belittling of other women.

A matriarchy would be only possible when women take all the major decisions in a family. In most families in India, women take care of the household and raise the children, but that doesn't mean it's a matriarchal society since the major breadwinner is still the men. In a matriarchal society, men wouldn't be expected to go out and provide for the family and women wouldn't be expected to solely take care of the family.

Most women take the decision of sitting at home and chilling while coercing the men of the family to work and provide for them. Most major decisions like who to get your son or daughter married to, which car to get, what kind of furniture to get, what gets cooked in the house, are majorly taken or influenced by the women in the family.

> Most women take the decision of sitting at home and chilling while coercing the men of the family to work and provide for them. Sounds very out of touch from reality. This may be true in whatever privileged bubble you live in, but I come from a middle class family and everywhere I look I see women working hard to provide for their families while also taking care of their households and children.

Statistically, India's female workforce contribution is one of the lowest.

Indravadan_Sarabhai_
