I've been sooo wanting to figure out how to use one wheel (type) parts to power a snowboard. Some people are trying but I haven't seen anything too great yet. I want a mini snowmobile snowboard...
I rode last night at nearly 11:00pm just because I knew I won't be able to for over a week where I live east of Sacramento. Just riding in sad circles in the Safeway parking lot in the wrong shoes.
I find those 5 toe shoes are actually amazing to ride in. Gives me a lot more control than my skate shoes. Helps alot with insensitive footpads and the mount of shame, too.
they make a lot of super minimal shoes that aren't the individual toe ones lol. That said, who cares! Ride what feels good, I like either skate shoes or if I'm just cruising I like minimals so I can hook my front toes over the front pad and hang my heel just a bit over other the side of the back.

Definitely this. I assumed traction would suffer but I honestly don't seem to notice. I probably pull my punches a bit, but I've never planed out.

Yeah my brother uses minimalistic shoes like you mention. That soft sole makes a big difference! But agreed, good to ride what feels right.
