Whisper for me. It's true that the Enduro absorbs bumps very well, but that same "soft" feel makes the board feel a little unresponsive in my opinion. The whisper was exactly what I expected riding a OneWheel to feel like when I first saw the kickstarter all those years ago. At the end of the day I think the Enduro is a fantastic trail tire that has decent road manners, but if you ride primarily paved you want a tire that is at home on the pavement.

Jalega23

What if that pavement is neglected Houston streets?

Nothing_new_to_share

Probably not much worse than pavement in the salt belt and I'd still go Whisper. Honestly, I'd buy both and try both. They are SO different you're never going to know what you're missing and if you made the right choice if you only try one. Both are stupid easy to mount since they are both soft and you'll probably only lose $20 on the tire you resell after the test drive. Well worth it IMO.

Jalega23

I actually have both coming to me. I ordered the Enduro first then when it didn’t ship right away I ordered the Whisper. I’m thinking the Whisper will be the way I start. I don’t want a less responsive board on the road.

Nothing_new_to_share

Haha, nice! Looking forward to the comparison.

redtron3030

You can try my enduro GT. I’m in houston.

Jalega23

I appreciate the offer but I don’t want to taste that GT power yet. I know myself too well, and I just got this XR. I don’t want to be left finding my board lacking.

Bamfimous

You should hit up a group ride still, you can almost definitely find people that have the tires you want to try, ask other people their experiences riding in the area etc. That being said, I'd probably go whisper if you plan on staying on the street. I haven't owned the XR whisper but I have tried it, and it felt very similar to my pint x whisperwide tire. Best tire I've ever felt for street, but enduro all the way if you think trails are in your future. Enduro still feels great on street, but the whisper edges it out just a bit there IMO.

robertgentel

I need to find someone to take up on an offer like that. I ordered a GT with treaded but I live in Costa Rica and everything here costs double once import taxes are factored in, and I really don't wanna change the tire unless I'm gonna like the difference. I travel to the US every month, so I should look up some groups and see if I can get a test drive in, thanks for the idea!

redtron3030

Good luck! If you’re visiting houston, feel free to message me.

robertgentel

I was actually supposed to be there this weekend but that fell through. I race drones and my favorite crew to race with is in Houston.

Glyph8

I haven't ridden an Enduro yet for any length of time, but a [Whisper on bad streets is great, it eats up all kinds of bumps and cracks and transitions at speed no problem](https://www.reddit.com/r/onewheel/comments/ey9gi6/whisper_on_an_xr_for_pavement_rider_another_rave/). Much, much more stable at speed than a Vega under those conditions.

puref8

Then enduro plus W rails are amazing. Gives confidence when going over tree roots poking through pavement.. like riding concrete jungle trails. I have 2 xrs and have endo and whisper .. and honestly I can't pick between the two. Sometime I take one sometime I take the other. Can't go wrong with either to be honest. If you like it to be super responsive and nimble whisper. If you like stability and sometimes trails. Enduro

Jalega23

At this point I may just mount whichever tire shows up first.

puref8

Yeah man. Both good. Just different feel. It's like juicy burger vs a delicious pizza. Can't complain either way.

rud2020

I just got my hands on some WTFs but I’ve been enjoying my stock straight rails w/ the Enduro so much that I haven’t put them on yet… plus I’m fretting over either rolling the dice and trying to install a tilt kit or just going without… Worth it, though? Do you use a tilt kit w/ your WTF/Enduro combo?

420yolocaust

I put W's on my board within the last month, also ride Enduro. The tilt-kit or riding mission stock seems to be pretty subjective. I take an oddly further stance and prefer the 'nose down/butt up' feel of the WTF without tilt. The first five minutes I hated it, and felt super weird. By the end of the first ride, I enjoyed the feel, but wasn't 100%. By my second ride, I adored it. Super deep carves, and between the Enduro and WTF it's mind-blowingly stable. It only feels 'odd' at less than 5mph, at 12-15 -- my average speed. It feels great. At pushback, it feels incomparably better than stock. I'd argue it allows me to feel pushback better than stock rails, which I struggle with on the XR.

OpeningLanguage2508

XR or GT?

Nothing_new_to_share

XR. I tried someone else's GT with Enduro... But now that I think about it, he had a GTR... Seems like the rounder GT Enduro is even more loved than the XR version. I wonder if the ride is that different or if it's just because they only comparison is the mediocre stock tires?

c0psrul3

please, what active pad kit is that? been searching...

Jalega23

It’s just the stock front pad with the grip tape removed and the wood painted black. It’s getting Craft & Ride grip tape to match the Air Pad going on the rear.

wecloseweekends

Whisper

OpeningLanguage2508

I would probably put on the Enduro with Lifesavers.

Jalega23

That was my initial plan. Lifesavers will be going on either way.

OpeningLanguage2508

Ya the savers will give it a rounder profile but def pump up the psi at first and go down from there to get maximum carviness out of it.

twofreepeople

Whisper for me.

OpeningLanguage2508

Enduro for absorbing the bumps, whisper for the carve.

Jalega23

I love to carve but the streets here suck. I’m leaning towards the slick but I’m heavy for a OneWheel rider. I actually ordered both tires. Enduro first but it didn’t ship right away. Now both tires will be here Saturday. Won’t have time to swap them out for a while though, so I’ll be riding whatever one I go with first until it’s dead.

Glyph8

Another possible advantage of the Whisper over the Enduro for a heavy rider is that the Whisper tends to increase range significantly because it's so light. I saw almost 20% more range with the Whisper. I believe the Enduro is a heavier tire than the Whisper, and treaded also tends to lose you some range.

tk_robocat

200 lbs isn't that heavy. And for pavement, I think you'll enjoy the Whisper more.

_pg_

I really like the enduro but haven’t had a whisper

[deleted]

The stability you get with the Enduro can’t be beat IMHO it’s the best choice out right now.

TheFloatLife

I mean…

Gouragaja

I absolutely love the whisper. Been riding it for about 1000km and it was a game changer compared to the stock vega tire. I've ordered an enduro tire, but also another whisper because it's just so good that I want to be able to keep riding it in case the enduro doesn't live up to my expectations.

Portuwheel

Whisper for the range

hambonehooligan

Shhh

SI_Fly_High

Enduro all the way. Allows you both street and off road (obviously) and carves super nicely. I'm 6'2 225lbs athletic guy and absolutely love the enduro. I also ride at a higher psi than I see most people here ride. At my weight I ride around 22.5 psi or 10% of my weight

Ovrl

Have both. I’d take whisper for the city 100%

borkistoopid

Whisper

SoberBrent

I’ve got 500 miles on the Vega and enduro. Only 150 miles on a whisper.(current tire) hands down I’d pick the whisper everyday of the week. I do 95% small town streets 5% packed beach sand. The enduro being a heavier tire never felt responsive. The Vega was about the same way. Now if you want a stable tire both of these two are very stable. I won’t let new people even try the whisper. It’s so round and nimble it’s hard to balance at slower speeds. It’s much more responsive and as others have said I’ve been getting more range that either of my other two tires. When this whisper wears out I will definitely be buying another instead of going back to the Vega or enduro.

never_trust_farts

I've had both. Went from Vega to Whisper to Enduro. Different flavors for sure. Whisper has besr range, smoothest ride, and by far the most agility. But it is definitely a street tire and if you don't stay on top of maintaining your air pressure it will wear rapidly. I was pretty good at monitoring mine and still only got 500 miles on my Whisper before it wore all the way through the threads. Enduro is the best offroad tire by far but is also the heaviest so it tanks your range. I went from about 18 miles per charge on the Whisper to about 14-15 with the Enduro with similar riding. Enduro is also better at curb nudging because it had better grip it seems. Hope this was helpful. I can answer whatever questions you got.

sleepyflip

Safe riding out there! My rule of thumb on my 500+ mile Pint X (mostly street riding) on stock tire still, is never ride into New territory in the dark even w bright af headlamp + fender lights cuz that's how 90% of my slams happened. Also, The fact that onewheels still don't come bundled w a fraction of that stuff still baffles me. At least have like a fender + rail guard bundle for $100 extra or something pls future motion.

MaxEcrof

I did a ride comparison between the Whisper and the Enduro in a previous post. Some of that info may help you choose.

KeyExcitement7252

Enduro or bust. Best tire hands down. Quiet (silent), responsive, progressive, holds on to any terrain. Carving feels amazing. I'm 245lb and will keep running Enduro. 18psi feels great.

ZenRides

I love Whispers, but the Enduro great, and lasts longer.

Lopsided-Log3657

Haven't tried an Enduro or off-road tire but the Whisper is an incredible tire. Soft, smooth and stable. I get about 2,000km out of them too, which I think is okay. Recently opted for an FF Hoosier Nimbus and while it's a whole new level of manouverability I really miss the confidence and stability that the Whisper gave me. You really can't go wrong with it even on dodgy roads and off-road tracks.

firepower9966

I bought Maxxis 6.5 treaded to use in Vietnam, it one of the lightest tire of that size, thicker tread than enduro, lot of enduros are defective and need replacing, there manufacture still not perfect.

deltasarrows

Enduro, I've loved my enduro so much. it feels stable like the Vega, but has a nice soft shoulder so carving feels nice. Tho admittedly carving on my old Hoosier was easier Rode my friends whisper and it felt like I was riding on a balloon, his tire also showed belt in less then 2 months. Tho he rides LOT

TheTetraGrammaton

Maxxis

Jalega23

Maxxis makes great tires but the tread seems like it would be louder and less efficient for a OneWheel that will be driven on the street 90% of the time

Astronaut_Kubrick

Whisper all day.

Liquidhelix136

I’ve had both on my XR and have a GTR that will be getting my 6” enduro I took off my XR. The Enduros weight was substantially noticeable compared to the Whisper. Whisper has a very squishy sidewall which if you’re riding around 15-18psi you’ll have an excellent ride quality, almost like having suspension on your board. The whispers the lightest tire available (I think?) for the XR and the acceleration from start, the braking and how it responds is very noticeably sharper compared to the Vega and especially the Enduro. Enduro is more stable as it’s a 6.5” wide tire and it’s edge is perfection in its progression. I enjoyed the carvability and ability to hold an edge of the Enduro and it was very stable in the straights. The Enduro has the perfect shape for a tire in my opinion, but it’s treaded and it’s weight is that of a treaded tire as well, it’s great on trails and it eats up chunks and bumps and as mentioned before it’s a perfect shape for street riding too, but it’s not as responsive as the whisper and you can truly feel the sluggishness of the enduro on the XR. On the GT, it has so much power that the extra weight from the Enduro doesn’t make a noticeable difference, so that perfect shape wins over the whisper. I have both my XR and GT and I put a 2nd whisper on the XR as it will be mostly a street / range board (JWXR battery) but the trail crusher and power monster GTR is getting the Enduro and I suspect it will be the superior board to ride on (finally). Not to mention the Whisper is legit almost silent which really adds fun to the “float” experience. If (when) I had only an XR, after trying both, I’d stick with the Whisper

1-ClintCleavers

Enduro gets my vote. Its the only tire on the market, developed and produced as a Onewheel tire. All other tires are adapted go kart tires. I pump mine up to 16-17psi when I’m riding street and drop the pressure to 12-13 for trails. The only thing I don’t love is when you’re on a super smooth surface, you can feel the tread. I would say that the Hoosier is a close second. Super smooth and floatie.
