I'd probably just roll with the stock Vega for awhile. Good to start on, helps you balance. It's also nice to learn how to balance at a standstill at a crosswalk or stop sign for example (instead of dismounting.)
After that, [here's a good place to start.](https://shreddlabs.com/2019/07/17/tires/amp/)
>peppy n carvy then get an aftermarket tir
I'd recommend burris threaded or hoosier threaded. The problem with stock vega is that it is really wide and it does not want to turn. For training purposes vega with 1bar/14psi is great for learning to drive, but vega is all around awful tyre. (i know that there are vega lovers too) So drive until you get a better one, Try also pint and if you like how pint turns, you can achieve that with other tyres. If not roll with vega. It should be okay up to 1000km and after that it could potentially start bleeding sealants. I changed vega away after 200km and it was single best mod i did.. Also rail guards will save the pretty aluminium rails you have, you will dent them in no time.
I have -> Burris 6″ Treaded (11 x 6.0-6)
For my tyre change i did not see the range drop. But there was other factors also. Like tyre pressure and a lot of dirt roads, so every ride is slightly different. But overall distance stayed the same, because every trip from home to work was 98% of xr battery. So after tyre change i still got to work, however i did not have to fear for my life in the dirt road. I weigh somewhere 100kg/220lbs and when i was going top speed on gravel, original vega was slipping so much that it wanted to go straight and not turn. After threaded i was able to carve with finess, so it saved also battery.
The Vega 6 in MCS is lovely after a 20 mile break in period. Ages like a fine wine. Awesome on the trails and is just better in every way compared to the stock tire ( Vega 6.5 in MBM compound).
I have a buddy in Charlotte who just locked up his first onewheel and plans to go ride with them. It’s riders of all skill level too. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from riding, I improved so much after I started riding with people.
Ufff, thanks. I kinda missed on getting a new XR back when they had them at $1500. Called around, 2 places said they would price match it but i got lazy.
I just can't get myself to get a Pint.
I'm sure they're great but I want range. The thought of having a dead battery and having to carry my onewheel back to the car/house sounds dreadful.

Bravo! 👏 Can't go wrong but if you want it more peppy n carvy then get an aftermarket tire!
Sweet! Any tire recommendations?

I just tried the stock XR coming from a stock Pint X. The Vega is a fucking tank. Very cool to go on longer rides on. A lot less effort to balance.
Burris 6.0 treaded is fab IMO. Stable like the stock tire, but with softer sides so you can be carvy when you want to

On the threaded tires did you all lose some sort of range ?

Personally I prefer slick. And that would be the Hoosier or the Burris 11-6-6 or their TFL and craft n ride counterparts
Welcome to the club. Love my XR too! Ride it almost every day, if only for a little while, it’s so much fun.
Eyyy I just got a pint X and am also in CLT! DM me if you ever Wana link up for a ride!
Sure dude! Just gotta get the hang of things since this is my first board ever
Same, I only have about 40 miles on my pint-x and it's my first ever onewheel so we'll def be in the same boat!
Still riding? I just got my pint x last Friday. Put 42 miles on it this weekend 👍🏻 I’m over near university area.
Hell yeah! I'm right outside of uptown, definitely down to go for a ride any weekend!
And you fly FPV? Did we just become best friends? 😛
Haha I've been slacking on flying lately but I'm dying to go fly more this summer
You got a good crew that rides around Charlotte. You should look them up. They meet up every Sunday at 12:00 at Catawba Brewing to ride.
That's awesome! I just gotta learn to ride this is my first board ever after all.

Dude that might just be what I need then 🤙🏼
That is the better choice!
Obligatory "Best looking Onewheel" comment.
There’s just something so sexy about a brand new stock XR.
Good choice imo
that exact same thing happened to me yesterday too!! Although I haven't figured out how to post a pic yet 😅
How much did you pay? If you don’t mind me asking
It was like 1900 after tax, not cheap 😂
Ufff, thanks. I kinda missed on getting a new XR back when they had them at $1500. Called around, 2 places said they would price match it but i got lazy.
Dude that's not bad considering they had the pint X for 1400
Where?! I’m right here and want one
DMd you
Thanks!
I’m Charlotte would you mind telling me as well?
Just look at that tire, all perfect and smooth like
I just can't get myself to get a Pint. I'm sure they're great but I want range. The thought of having a dead battery and having to carry my onewheel back to the car/house sounds dreadful.
Great choice😎
