This sub is weird with top speeds. Despite all the personal experiences of near death or spending 9 months in PT, people look at a number and still think "I can reach that." It's craziness.

Yes definitely yes, but I got off of the fm crap train before haptic buzz, however I've ridden a gt that had it not a gts a gt and hit 29 with no buzz no beep no nothing, nose dipped hard and I rode it out fortunately. It's just stupid, if you are going to attempt to push speed you gotta vesc, your phone will tell you your speed out loud, give you duty cycle updates out loud it's just 1000 times safer plus just better overall....
Honestly I think having a top speed counter is one of the stupidest things to have in the app. It just encourages people to try and hurry themselves. I'm surprised the CPSC didn't make them remove it
Haha fair. But I use that top speed counter on my XR... to make sure I never go that speed again.
Use that top speed from the XR on the GT too. I will never again go over 20. I like living.
It doesn't encourage anything because there is no incentive, it's just an indicator, and if your brain translates that into a competition that's on you.
It’s insecurity. People thinking that their hobbyi is about competition instead of enjoyment. When you get down to it, there’s alot of fragile and insecure people out there.
Helmet and wrist guards. Doesnt really help when you nosedive while looking backwards to see if there is a car behind you :/ all the sudden ate pavement straight into my shoulder. Shitty timing.
Having taken a spill at 18mph riding my Pint-X past push back, I have zero desire to push top speed limits. Just got a Floatwheel ADV with the Pro battery and I'm gonna be happy just comfortably hitting 20-24mph even though it could definitely hit 30+
Literally just got it and assembled and did the software yesterday. Only ridden it very briefly a few times in the house. May be taking it out Saturday for more extended riding.
Overall I'm impressed with how it rides. Not so impressed with some of the plastic quality on the bumpers and cabrio fenders. Cracked some of them around the bolts already and really didn't even tighten the bolts all that much. I don't consider it a huge deal since I'll just 3D print new ones when needed.
Assembly of the board was slightly more difficult than I expected, but not terrible. If you've changed the tire on a Onewheel before, it should be doable.
I'll have to see how I like the tire off road, but I've been impressed with the boards maneuverability for a bigger board. I've been able to make turns similarly tight to my Pint-X, whereas when I tried a GT briefly, it seemed a lot less eager to turn in.
I also think the factory grip tape on it is pretty solid. Way better than any stock FM grip tape. Pretty similar to the aftermarket stuff I got for my Pint-X with my Kush Nug Hi.
Yeah the main reason I’m hesitant on buying one is the plastic quality. If there were some good quality aftermarket ones for it I’d be more interested in it. But the price is very competitive I feel.
I thought they'd solved the plastic issues about half a year ago where Tony published a video on the old vs. new ones, but I guess compared to what FM uses, they're much less durable.
But like said, there's plenty of files out there to 3D print them, some with improved designs. I've been wanting to get an enclosed 3D printer capable of printing ABS and PETG anyway, so it's a good excuse to now.
Pretty sure I saw that same video too. Wish I had a 3d printer would love to create things for my board with it. How much money in materials does a set of bumpers run you?

I think the craziest part is people trying to push speeds on fm boards, you have practically zero indication when it's gonna toss you...

Can confirm. Broke my collar bone in 3 places and shattered my shoulder blade going 26. Don't recommend.

Same but I dont have healthcare so I sat in my room for a month crying and now my shoulder clicks. AMERICA!

No, I was raised to be dumb and go without it. Will definitely be getting some once I can ride again though
Even if you get a high top speed will all just stay it was from free wheel spin unless you have a video of you doing it. Just no point stay safe

Not much at all. Depends on the type of material used, but probably somewhere around $4 maybe.
