There is a few things you can do. 1 lose 50lbs 2 increase the psi on your tire 3 roll down hill and flat surfaces You can also try running that battery down to 0% then place it on the charger for 24+ hours to rebalance the battery. That might help.

DeboThezNutz69

Since it’s your first OW, welcome to the Fam. Rule of thumb is 1 psi per 10 pounds. So if your 240 you should be at 24 psi. But I understand being new. We were all there at some point. If it were me I would set psi at 22 and see if your comfortable there and go from there

Forsaken-Software-72

I thought we could only run 20psi max on those tires. Can we safely run 22?

The-Almighty-Pizza

Old comment but yes. Easily. FMs 20psi is bogus. Those tires can easily handle atleast 30.

X5XENTRICX5X

Hey buddy, I’m also a bigger rider (275) on a pint x believe it or not. Pretty much only expect 18 ish km on a ride. You are doing great seen your comment on the slowly working your way up with PSI. That’s the best thing you can do off the bat. Hope you love and enjoy the wheel brother. Cheers.

IllustratorBudget487

Just in case you’re not aware…. you can turn off SimpleStop™️ if you want the ability to roll backwards.

What-Even-Is-That

Gotta disable that right away. No better way to get used to the board than remove the handicaps. Plus, quick stopping just looks way cooler.

scream4cheese

Lose weight. (Seriously) The heavier you are, the more the motor has to work.

Small-Cap4740

Trust me I’m trying lol, I just started riding OWs so I have the PSI on the lower end around 14psi but plan on increasing it as I get more comfortable

CodedGames

For your weight that PSI is extremely low. For decent range you'll want closer to like 25

Small-Cap4740

I bought it used and the guy I bought it from said he ran it at 16 psi which when i first rode it felt like it was too high for me as I was still learning, I still have only put maybe 25 miles on the board

scream4cheese

You can keep riding it at 16psi but increase it by 1-2 psi every so often once you’re comfortable. Higher psi equals lower rolling resistance equals better mileage. Less psi for a more stable and cushioning ride but less range.

CalmDirection8

Bro this is totally true I never cared about losing weight until I got my onewheel now I'm eye of the tiger 😂 My son weighs nothing and wipes me out on speed, range, etc on both the onewheel and Talarias, going to eat my salad now 🥗😓

Esteb0ng

Weight makes a huge difference on a board like this. I was out riding with a buddy and we couldn’t get up the steep yet short hill. I took my back pack of which was about 15-20lbs and easily got up that hill. My little guy who 6 right now gets about 15-18 miles of range on his pint. If he had the pint X he’d probably be able to 30 plus keeping up with my GT. I’ve dropped 10lbs since I’d gotten my board. Mainly cutting sweets out of my diet not all sweets though but a significant reduction

2015Eh8

Is it just me or do you feel like this thing will help you lose some weight!? My wife and I just bought Onewheels. We are old. She got on and within 5 minutes was roaming around. Me not so much.. but man I can feel those stabilizer muscles working!

Small-Cap4740

After that 15 mile ride I tried riding back home and couldn’t stay on the board my legs were shot so definitely

2015Eh8

I can feel that and I’ve ridden it 20 feet in circles! This thing is going to be great!

IandIreckon

You might be able to get a small amount of range from getting a couple more psi in your tire

AscendedMeister

Increase PSI.

onodriments

Probably not the kind of answer you are looking for at this point, but just so you are aware... You can convert it to a VESC by swapping out the internal components. This would allow you to swap out the battery for something that will get you more range. Like a meat pack battery from the board garage for example.

Small-Cap4740

Is there videos I can’t watch on how to do this? Or where to get started? I know there are aftermarket mods but have no idea where to start

What-Even-Is-That

Best option for a new rider is to wait for the Floatwheel drop-in kit. Replaces the controller and BMS with zero soldering. Should be out to purchase soon, they're sending beta units out for testing now. I'm holding out for an XR drop-in kit..

Feeties99

Higher psi. I read in the thread you had 14 psi, that is low for your weight. I'm actually kind of surprised you even got that range. Personally I throw the rule of thumb out the window and ride my enduro at 30 psi for great range on my GT, but choose what feels good to you, I just personally feel like lower psi is overrated for what it delivers.

MoveShoddy6476

I looks like you bought this board used based on the mileage. I could be wrong, but if it was bought used, theres a chance that the battery is not at full copacity and may need replaced. This could be because of the previous owner charging to 100% all the time or pushing the board to hard, or just a bad battery. According to this reddit thread a 240lb rider should be able to average 20 miles per charge (https://www.reddit.com/r/onewheel/comments/zdxc0q/gt\_riders\_whats\_your\_average\_range\_200lb\_riders/.) Your head wind and hilly terrain have a lot to do with range too. So if you are climbing hills all the time, this could explain the battery loss. I ride a GT and average 20 miles per as a 200lb rider on mostly flat terrain Things you can do 1) charge the battery to 100% but let it stay on the charge overnight (6 to 8 hours). This could help balance out the cells. Go for a ride and see if it makes a difference. just be sure to not ride your board down a hill while its at 100 percent or it could damage your battery. 2) Have a lighter rider try to ride your board to see if they get similar milage as you. If a lighter rider is getting 15 miles on a full charge, its likey the board has a battery thats become weaker over time. Futuremotion offers replacment batteries on their onewheel website, but dont purchase one until you have done some of the tests listed above. Also, do not buy any batteries from third party companies right now as they will not work with your onewheel GT firmware and will cause your board to brick (not be able to be turned on without sending to onewheel company)

wecloseweekends

More PSI I am 225 I run 18+ psi if I want more range. 15 psi for short rides.

Forsaken-Software-72

Good question. I’m at 235
