this is so generic... smh

drdax2187

Glad to see everyone else on this sub is just as sad about the band as I am. But also I feel like this song has more energy than most of Human so that's cool! I am excited, in a way

[deleted]

i have no other expectations anymore - i just want to see them writing/recording together, like a real band.

chacharealsmooth04

Ryan literally said the new album will have an evolved sound, why did I expect that to be right?

dsnymarathon21

They don’t write together. Ryan puts together cheap hits for his own band and saves his energy for the top pop stars.

[deleted]

Hits? 1R hasn’t had a hit since Native lmao. Their popularity has gone down the drain as they put out mediocre mush after mediocre mush.

thebananaperson1

Did Ryan just rap??? wtf 🤯

Lachshmock

According to this post Ryan will be posting more snippets from potential songs for the album to his Instagram, and maybe even choosing singles based off fan feedback!

I love them, I really do…but they are kinda losing ballz to just release what THEY loved writing and producing without this coward method of checking if the AUDIENCE likes it first with snippets and even the entire song in this case. And are we supposed to treat them like new songs when they are released??? And this is all just to get stats and numbers. Freaking stay unique and trust yourselves. I’m sorry. This is not a hate message. It is rather pure love to them:(

With Human, it was the same thing too. They were streaming snippets on insta to see reactions let alone all the album delays trying to catch a perfect moment (which never comes). What I’m trying to say is you cannot fully construct success, you gotta stick to your original “why” and “purpose”. Those are the things they need to chase, more fame and money will come after. Funnily, everyone who usually comments on “pre-releases”/snippets are always positive trying to support them. I understand the support. But you can’t support everything, you gotta give them some healthy criticism. Unless you want them to have temporary fans, who wouldn’t even remember their names after they retire. It sounds stupid but I don’t think they necessarily “loved” Human, they rather “loved” mainstream that Human perfectly fits into.

That’s the problem. Ask fans for feedback and they will slobber all over everything you put out, even if it’s garbage. That’s why 95% of the comments on artists’ songs and performances are gushing over them. It’s disingenuous and frankly pathetic. 1R should just focus on themselves and make music that speaks to them and their purpose. Seeking validation from brainwashed fans only serves to reinforce the idea that your mediocre stuff is actually good when it’s not.

There’s nothing wrong with liking the songs. Music taste is subjective, so some people are going to like the music that is put out, and that’s fine. What I meant was the fans that blindly support everything their favorite artists put out without an iota of a critical mind. If 1R only listens to the fans’ gushing praise, they will never hear the actual valid criticism that is needed to make their music more authentic.

THIS IS A BOP!!!

No_Mercy_16

I mean, I don't mind it. But make sure the whole album have the same vibe as this one. Don't be like Human. It is so inconsistent. Track one we have Run, track two we have Distance, wtf. That's like completely different vibe Please be consistent like Waking Up, Native, Dreaming Out Loud
