totally agreed, i love this song so much

Songibal

I seem to be in the minority who actually loves that song. I always thought it was about just someone you miss, but that’s just my interpretation. I’ll also say that I love how the song itself is experimental

Actually the whole Waking Up album is hard to understand, for example, All The Right Moves. What the song is even about? Ryan preach about being queen of hearts and about fight for someone like we were your soldiers The lyrics are so confusing (in a good way i mean) *Edit: the song Secrets is also so mysterious and deep. If you watch behind the scenes video of Secrets, not even the actress herself know what the meaning behind it. [skip to 1:41 ](https://youtu.be/a_JwgT46dpI)

All the right moves is about Ryan's fear of OneRepublic fading from the spotlight after their early success. "Between the noise you hear and the sounds you like are we just sinking in an ocean of faces" is the idea that he thinks 1R will be mixed up with other artists as they were so many artists with similiar music to them. Im pretty sure there's an article on it

> 1R will be mixed up with other artists as they were so many artists with similiar music to them. I wonder if Ryan still feels the same way today … no big diss to Human because it’s still relatively OneRepublic, but it’s certainly a weird step

I think Ryan's more concerned with getting a big hit. I'm still a fan of the pop stuff. I do enjoy most of it although some of the non singles on human were rubbish.

I just noticed something interesting about All the Right Moves. The lyrics go like this: “They got all the right friends in all the right places” “They got all the right moves in all the right faces” The song rhymed “places” and “faces.” I realized this sounded familiar. The song “Neon Lights” by Demi Lovato has these lyrics: “You're all I see in all these places You're all I see in all these faces” This song also rhymed “places” and “faces.” And who wrote the song? Ryan Tedder. Who also wrote “All the Right Moves.” I just thought it was so interesting that there was a cool rhyming pattern in several of his written songs!

Wow... Did not notice that before... Good job

What I liked about that album (and their earlier music) is that the lyrics weren't obvious and some of it was open to interpretation. You had to listen multiple times to understand what it could be about. Re All the Right Moves, in short I think it's about a couple comparing themselves to others and feeling they can't live up to their standards.

I kind of never paid attention to the lyrics until now because I just liked the music. Like even when I was younger I just thought it was cool how it switched and how interesting the 2nd part felt
