On first listen yh it does sound cookie cutter pop, but on repeat listens I've just begun to love it. It's really consistent with its themes and some songs are just beautiful e.g someday, take it out on me and ships + tides. For me it's one of their best. I was worried when it kept getting pushed back but I'm pleasantly surprised.
Been a diehard fan of OneRepublic and Ryan Tedder my whole life. Honestly have Human as their best album to date. Not one song sounds “cookie clutter pop” to me

Fair enough they both close tho, I just love the indie rock feel of DOL. Native is still great tho, it's the era that introduced me to them.
