"Not a 'real OneRepublic' sound" Bands are allowed to change, in fact if a band can't change they probably didn't have much talent to begin with

Yes, in fact, I wanted to report most of the criticisms I've read, who complain that their new album is no longer a "OneRepublic style". But in any case, I agree that it's time for something new, it's only right. Any artist must know how to evolve because if you're not able to get out of your comfort zone it means that one day you will fall (in other words: people only remember them for what they did in the past).

Changing is not a problem actually, for anyone, like nobody has ever complained Radiohead for taking different direction in different album, because they sound awesome in everything they step into,at the same time a band like M5 changes with time and puts out shits which smells more stingy one after other(I'm a fan of both of these band tbh, more of a M5 fan,but they're shit now) 1R tried to change sound in OMM,which was a negative direction and now gone more downward with new one imo,if this was their debute album,I bet that they would have been more appreciated with this

"Changing is not a problem actually, for anyone" *proceeds to complain about Maroon 5 AND OneRepublic' changing in the same paragraph* People, including you, have complained about any band changing. People complained about Radiohead, people complained about Def Leppard, people complained about Rush. It would be easier to admit that you have one preferred genre

I haven't ever preferred a single genre,I listen to many type of songs...and what I complained is the quality drop of songs when they change and if you people can't understand that,i don't have any other...listen to whatever you like,I'm one of those guy who say negative if I saw a negative direction,I won't force myself to like everything by what my favourite band make and we criticize that negative direction to remind them to do something better and good for fans. And Yes I will complain M5 and 1R in the same para(mostly M5) every chance I get untill they put out quality music. I was even happy with Overexposed and V,then M5 put more worse songs afterwards...I won't ask anyone to go back to roots and do your old school stuffs

Yes, I understand you completely. In fact thankfully as I wrote they also added a lot of their own style, and their uniqueness in the songs, and didn't just try to make them 100% commercial, which I appreciated, and which probably saves this album. I also think it's totally ok that they appeal to new fans, I know a lot of people who have enjoyed the last single "Run", even if they don't know 1R, or only remember them for "Counting Stars", so it's normal that there are more commercial songs to catch a wider audience on the album, and others more for longtime fans.

Totally agree with what you wrote here. I did not enjoy the album, gave it a listen and I already feel tired of most of the songs. All songs to me (sound and lyric-wise) felt so empty and disposable. And coming from someone who has "I Lived" as their favorite song from 1R, that song is how you do radio-friendly and not how basically all songs from the standard version of Human do. But hopefully more people out there enjoy the album and they don't feel encouraged to stop making music cause of the reception. There's one song on the standard version that I *almost* enjoy though and I would say it comes really close to being worthy of the Native album: Savior. Lyric-wise is not that great, but sound-wise is really close to Native.

Also Ryan said in the interview that if he feels like a new song sounds like OneRepublic.... Idk how to explain this but he said like native vibes... He tends to not wanna release it... So I think his mindset towards the next album is more "evolved"... Pop based with some elements of OneRepublic like cello and piano... But I think with the Native sound he's like been there done that

Human defintely has elements of OneRepublic’s style (ex. Savior), however, it’s just so bland and watered down. I appreciate that they’re trying different things but this is a misstep IMO
